Literally >falls for churchills bait during bombing campaign, targets towns and cities in southern England, because Churchill was bombing Germany, just like Churchill wanted
Like I get he didn't want to seem weak probably, but if he didn't bomb towns & cities in retaliation, world war 2 could've been avoided, or at least have had a different outcome. What is he really gaining from bombing civilians other than British hatred for Germany? The peace movement in Britian stopped after he started to bomb London. Surely targeting just military targets would've been more beneficial and economical to the German war effort anyways?

If Hitler was capable of evaluating world events and making smart decisions, he wouldn't have been Hitler.

>but if he didn't bomb towns & cities in retaliation, world war 2 could've been avoided,
What? It had already been going on for months.
> or at least have had a different outcome.
Extraordinarily unlikely.
>What is he really gaining from bombing civilians other than British hatred for Germany?
Battle of Britain was still, at least on paper, to support a sealion. In addition to reducing the RAF, Hitler needed to disrupt lines of communication, to keep troop formations from rushing to wherever he was landing and overwhelming the beachhead, and destroying any industry is nice.
>The peace movement in Britian stopped after he started to bomb London.
The Peace movement was nowhere near to unseating Churchill in any way.
>Surely targeting just military targets would've been more beneficial and economical to the German war effort anyways?
It also would have been insufficient. Britain was building planes faster than Germany was, and pilots were the real bottleneck. Bombing airfields stung the RAF, but not nearly enough to pull them out of action, and if the heat got too bad, there was nothing preventing them from pulling up stakes and basing somewhere in the Midlands, sacrificing coverage time over southern England to protect the airfields. What do you do then?
Not to mention the bombing of civilians being directly attributable to British strat-bombing is ridiculous. Seelowe demanded destruction of railroads before the invasion, and sooner or later you're going to have to bomb civvies to do that.

He got power hungry an since Hitler was mentally ill he took advantage of that an pretty much 100/100 Barter his way through letting it be "okay" to do the bombings.

Retard. If things had kept going, Britain would have surrendered. It was only U.S. assistance that kept them going.

I meant to say, they could've reached a peace deal. English weren't as ready to go to war until the bombings

Hitler was a young hothead in comparison to Churchill who was a hothead back in his youth
