because there are lots of fights that either require high dps or horribly inconvenience the group if dps isn't high enough, and a group full of good dps makes the dungeon faster and more fun for everyone involved so why wouldn't they want that?

Between Ninja, Gunner, Warrior and Archer which class would be a better DPS for someone with ping between 150ms~180ms on good days and ~200ms sometimes?

I don't need to top DPS charts, I just don't want to be a liability. Exceeding class average by a little bit with moderate effort (and preferably reaching at least 1,5mi DPS with Guile) would be ideal.

archer is the only class that can do that

Well, I'm broke and starting a new class, which means I'll be stuck in Guile for quite a while until I can farm enough items to make (and +15) an ambush weapon, and then the rest of the set.Thus, it needs to be at least useful in RMHM/BP while wearing only Guile (and at 180ms~ ping).

you dont need to do 1.5m/s in rmhm/bp, as long as you dont die and youre good at your class and class is fine there in guile

You can go for ninja, it actually has benefits at higher ping with allowing you to auto attack glitch. You also have to be a total tard not to do high dps with it, since the majority of its dps is front loaded on a 2 min cd skill. And five i-frames so you have to be really dumb to die a lot on it.

That's interesting. Due to it being so mobile-looking (and seemingly high APM) I thought it would be, together with warrior, at the bottom of the list, due to paying ping-tax oftenly as high APM classes are wont to do.

You think with my ping I'd do a better job with a Ninja than Archer using a rotation that doesn't rely on rapid fire?

Two reasons. Firstly, because I want to play all of those four classes and will be happy with any of them.
Secondly, because you can guess exactly how that went the last time I did it, which is why I'm here asking so I don't make the same mistake twice in the course of a single week - clocking at 600k DPS, my full +12 Guile Slayer feels absolutely useless in any hardmode dungeon my friends are kind enough to carry me through.

Ninjas and archers do about the same dps, but archers get around 20% of their dps from rapid fire. Ninja isnt high apm at all, you press 1 2 3 and sometimes 4, and then hold auto attack down while spamming directional keys to bug it out and make it skip animations.

Plus tera has some weird kind of skill queueing that makes high ping players cast skills at the same rate as low ping if they're standing in place uninterrupted. Its just when you're interrupted and have to react that makes it awful. One of the best warriors is some dude with like 150-200ms ping.
