Does it work?

Anything wrong with it?
I'm assuming there is

If it does work, how long do you expect it to work?

Im happy for you even though I find those ugly esp in that color.

enjoy it.

>he bought a brown car

WEW thats 2 bad m8

Yeah I drives great.
It's has a few issues. AC doesn't blow cold, fuel gauge doesn't work, wiper motor is bad, the sunroof leaks.
Just minor stuff.

Pretty good, miles?
>2012 CR-Z EX [6 speed manual]
>$8,500
>62k/mi
>zero rust anywhere

It's actually maroon. I haven't taken any day pics yet.

gross! those non turbo ones are such shit
the 931 was a great car. the 924 was garbage on a stick. the 951 was an excellent car, but kind of maintenance heavy the 944 non turbo was also shit

It's only got 57k original miles.

Also, what are you intending to do with it?

>Return
sweet

The non S model 924 is definitely garbage, but the S has the same engine as the base 944. The performance is actually better because it weighs less.

I plan on fixing the problems and making it a decent daily driver. I'm a mechanic by trade, so it should be a fun experience.

924....... don't people give those away for a small tax right off?

How easy is sun roof stuff to fix?

The rubber seal around the sunroof is rotten and cracked. It should be pretty easy to replace, at least I hope so.

nice beetle, user

P O R S C H E

noice, enjoy it user!

pop-ups are cute!

We /pog/ again?

Nice hardtop

Th-thanks

Dad couldn't afford to buy you a 911?

Nah he's too busy investing in properties and my money's all tied up paying tuition and saving up for the closing of my house

Lol nice.

Maybe it's time for /pog/ in op's honor.

OP,
Well done, sounds like a good find. Sunroof leak is super common, as are little electrical gremlins. You will have zero problems working on this being a mechanic. Just maintain that water pump.

Thought it was a droptop from the thumbnail.

eww 4k for a slow ugly moneypit shitbox in an awful color

t. busrider

just like op in 2 weeks

The car is more or less in sound mechanical shape and OP is a professional mechanic and is willing to fix anything that could go wrong

Stay salty you bus rider

sup ops boyfriend

only thing salty is your mouth faggot

Nice Volkswagen with an Audi transmission.

Should have just gotten a Sirocco instead. You would have saved a bunch of money and had substantially the same car.

>$4k
>porsche badge
>pedestrian mangling popups

Find yourself a ls1, spare afternoon and you have my approval

That said, the Phone Dials are nice. Kudos on that one.

But user, the sirocco doesn't have a 160 hp Porsche designed engine

The 924 doesn't have a Porsche engine either. It's got a VW engine out of a van.

OP bought a 924S, it has a Porsche engine from the 944

does Porsche still stock oem seals?

Well I'll be. And here I thought they were all VW/Audi bastards throughout production. I am genuinely surprised that Porsche did bother to put some actual Porsche parts in some of the later ones.

Color me impressed.

they had to

VW stopped making the engine and they needed a cheaper car than the 944

Yeah I'm sure they do. It's just a strip of rubber, I don't even think it's pre-formed. I doubt it would make a difference if it's OEM or not.

lol

Damn thing is faster than a 944 too because it's lighter

About a week.

Alright, I feel like this one's in order here.

>those dinner plates
>that poster

youtube.com/watch?v=n7rzne25qH0

You know it.

>the sunroof leaks.
>Just minor stuff.
enjoy your rust

...

If Porsche does not have the part on hand, they will make it, regardless of year.

It will cost you but they will make it.

>sports car
>slower than an accord

>rides bus

Even a brand new base model Accord only makes 10 more horsepower while having to lug around a lot more pigfat, unless you spergeout on the V6 in which case it's still pigfat and can't turn

Noice color op, rare in newer cars sadly

>the user that bought a 996 cab with a matching hardtop for $13k
>drives it up and down the west coast every day
Literally living the dream, I'm fucking jealous

anodized car user.

be gone.

this is silly. Porsche parts (such as seals) tend to be cross platform stuff, the odds are that it has a VW part number as well.

There are tons of resources for parts, most of which are reasonable but you do occasionally get a unicorn that can only purchased from porsche at 3 times the cost of a comparable part on a similar car. That is typically the exception in my experience.

t. happy 944 owner

FUCKING RADICAL

>Porches rusting after the early 70s
All of their cars after then are made out of galvanized steel

kek

>actually disliking brown/maroon
pleb taste 2bh
nice car op. get some more pics

Fuck I meant galvanized

I haven't taken too many pictures yet, but here's the paint in the daylight.

...

Fwiw I really like that color. Also I bet that cayman owner came over and had a look.

Porsche people are good people

phonedials are the shit

Yours?

looks even worse in the day tbqh

>captcha is a sign to Stuttgart

I don't even like Porsches, but that's a pretty great find op. If I had the cash and was in the area I would have bought it!

Color isn't too bad, I reckon it would look good with yellow 5 spoke racing wheels. But I probably wouldn't pay more than $2800 for it.

any shots of the interior? will you upgrade for a backwindow wiper?

>2011+6
>having a rearwiper

>2011 was 6 years ago
Thanks asshole

>2005 was 12 years ago

>tfw I still play this

dun goofd

Same bro. Just throw some HD textures and shaders on it and it looks as good as any modern AAA title, or just play vanilla for maximum nostalgiabomb.

Ignore all the haters OP they are great cars to own. Just change that T belt and water pump if you don't know the last time it's been done

Needs sikk IMSA bodykit

>Just change that T belt and water pump
BOTH timing belts. Very important.

I removed the covers on my 944 so if the balance shaft belt went it wouldn't take the timing belt with it.
OP definitely get the tools to make sure you get the tension correct too and don't waste money on a Kevlar belt they fail just as hard and they're loud as shit

I don't think I can handle the SEPIA

Shhh about the belts I tell everyone it's a turbo
