generally french tanks only become good at higher tiers and have alot of lemons in their lines

There's no point playing french tanks if you're not going for the tier 8s/10s really.

french low tier arty is strong :)
french tanks are kinda difficult to play, if you are not too good or new to the game stick to burger or russian tanks
the low and mid tier french tanks are trash, t5 and t6 heavy are somewhat decent

idk, I'm french too and every t5 is good.
The TD is one of the best, the medium is fine with the derp, the heavy probably has the best gun, and the ELC is a meme machine.

Before t5, you have the tiny t3 TD that's fun if you have camouflage, you have the t2 arty that's hilarious for seal clubbing, you have the AMX 40 that plays like a heavy, you have the B1 that has shit pen but will stomp stuff of its tier.

I started on the French tree because I like all the goofy interwar and prototype/paper tanks. The only high level tank I'm remotely interested in getting is the Tiger because Tiger. Otherwise I'm happy to stick to low levels to be honest.

Use the strv 74 gun, fight at long range, always consider what sort of cover you can hide behind, do not let people brawl you up close, etc.
