Why not?

>a Honda
sounds like an even match

actually I was racing in my ferrari entirely ironically

What car were you driving? Did you win? What was the situation? Was he actually going to the floor?

OP, greentext please

>driving a 360 Modena
>see him at a red light, Mulholland Drive
>BMW between us
>he takes off, BMW pulls over and lets me go
>spent the next 2 miles trying to catch him
>don't know if he had it on the floor but it had to be close
>he knew every curve in that road
>lol, I didn't win

>driving a 360 Modena
Ask me why I don''t believe this story

>driving a 458 Speciale
>fuccboi in a stanced, debadged 328is with race seats and fart can pulls up
>gives me the "cool guy" nod
>I rev a bit
>he takes off on green with all 180hp
>I just sit at the light for a few seconds then pull away slowly

Don't be that guy Veeky Forums

I'm not sure why.
It's not like it's the first time I've posted about the car. There was a whole thread about it a couple months back.

Did you ever take a pic with focaccia on fender?

Okay, fair enough. But this means I get to ask "The Ferrari Question."

What do you do for a living?

I'm retired.
Otherwise I never would've bought one.

>I'm retired
>Posting on a philipino board full of underage busriders

Ok

No, but I took a timestamped one from the driver's seat.

It's so exhausting to say you have a nice car here I just don't even bother anymore.

Retired from what?

nailing ur mum

Dad?

i told you to get off the fuckin computer son, you're going to rot your eyes out

It didn't happen to you so it's not happening to me. We have the same genetics dad

Nothing exciting.
I was part of a startup that got bought out. Can't really say more.

>Can't really say more.
This just makes me more interested

Okay well you have all the knowledge now, how do I get rich?

>all that shit hanging off the bottom
>that gigantic sheet metal wheel gap
That car is ugly as fuck and slow as dog shit. It's only worth a lot of money because muh heritage. You probably beat it in your civic.

you raced a kit car

Aspiring retired programmer here. I'm near Thousand Oaks. Wanna race some time?

>complaining about wheel gap
>ugly

ok bud

i'm 97% sure this pic is from Carmel

>how do I get rich?
I couldn't really say.
It's not like I knew the buyout would happen going in. I didn't even think the other guys involved were that smart.

>near Thousand Oaks.
I don't get out that way much, unless I'm headed to the coastal roads in Malibu. I mainly stick to the hills around Mulholland.

Not the other user but I live near Button Willow if you ever make it down there.

I mean, some faggot in an E-Type almost t-boned me once.

>I don't get out that way much, unless I'm headed to the coastal roads in Malibu. I mainly stick to the hills around Mulholland.
I'm actually closer to Calabasas than TO I think. But hey if you're down to cruise down Malibu Canyon rd some time, then I am too. Cars and programming when?

>tfw Topanga Canyon blvd was still closed today

pm me when you guys hit Topanga I'd like to go. I am from the 818 so pretty close

Is that near Willow Springs?
I was thinking of taking it up there to track it at some point.

>Malibu Canyon
Can't remember the setup. Is it mostly 4 lane, like Kanan, or 2 like Las Virgenes?

>Topanga Canyon blvd was still closed today
Saw this on the map before I went out today. Rock/mudslides?

how do I send pms on this noodle review forum?

it's mostly 2 lanes, and yeah a boulder the size of two SUVs came down a hill

>2 lanes
They can be good, but it really sucks when you get morons who want to drive 15 and look at the scenery, but won't pull over.

Yeah I feel ya, I'm actually new to the area so I don't know shit.

I hear it pays to be careful on all those North/South roads.
Supposedly they're crawling with Chippers.

Forgive me for my ignorance but I am European after all, Chippers?

CHP
California Highway Patrol. They're just one of four agencies that have jurisdiction out there.

Oh I see. In all the times I've been on the canyon roads I've only seen a patrol car once or twice if I try to recall.

Would a radar detector work assuming they're after a turn/big ass hill? I've been meaning to get one.

I blew up the engine 4 days after getting a car so I've been driving pretty chill since I got that fixed anyway.

radar (and cell signal) has a hard time working in the canyons since all the mountains and shit

>I've been meaning to get one.
Lol.
Yeah, I've been thinking of that myself, considering.

That's what I figured.

Even the $50 best seller ones on Amazon seem to be doing a good job, so might as well.

>so might as well.
Yeah, especially since driving over 100mph is two points in Cali.

>mfw European license

>European license
You have one of these?

I moved to Cali from Europe two months ago, and as a resident alien you're allowed to drive using your international license up until 3 months after arrival.

So yeah I'll have to get a Cali license this February unfortunately.

The guy across the street from me pulled a stunt like this.
He had a European license and a BMW with Euro plates, which he never changed. Anytime he got pulled over, he just started speaking to the cop in German.

>entirely ironically
entirely?
that's a lot of irony, I usually go for just half.

How easy it is to pull that shit off with US cops? I did similar stuff when travelling central Asia with Austrian plates, I don't have a license at all, so any time I was pulled over, we jumped out of the car, I pointed at the passenger and we spoke random shit in random languages. Worked 100%

He did it a while back.
My guess is that, like most similar shit, it works less and less well over time.
I had a revoked driver's license in one state, exchanged it in another state for a perfectly legit one. By the time I submitted that one in a third state, though, they had caught up and nailed me for the stuff in the first one.

Being a foreigner is more fun. Managed to convince the border guard in a neighboring country that my license has been lost in a car fire and evade punishment once.

>tfw spend all night serving drinks to Patrick Dempsey at Peggy Slappey foundation dinner party.
>chat it up about cars and racing because he is bored as fuck
>race him in his Panoz after the dinner

Sounds like par for the course when we go to Mexico.

I'm still trying to figure out who was driving the SWB, would've liked to meet him.
Can't be many people who own cars that fucking expensive.

Why tf would you go to drive to mexico, roads are shit

I didn't go there to drive, I went there to get drunk and pick up 20 year old girls from San Diego.

Yeah, $68K is soooooo out of reach.

>projecting

68k isn't it of reach, the mandatory maintenance

Mandatory maintenance is*

>Pull up with my buddy next to a Ferrari at a set of lights
>Try to be nice to the guy in the Ferrari, ask him how much hp his car makes
>Looks at me and makes some shit about how I cant afford it, revs his engine too
>Fuck you, you bald headed cunt I was just trying to be nice
>Turn to my buddy to see his reaction
>Smoke him
>Lights turn green, take off and beat him
>Never see him again

Didn't you die in a fiery Porsche crash?

Why, is it a lot more than any other Ferrari?

not really

holy shit is that real or a concept? beauty!

>mandatory maintenance is
Really.
Op here. Given that maintenance for my 360 is already pricey, do you think a v12's is somehow bank breaking?

The money pit part of a 456 isn't the engine, it's the rear suspension, bodywork, interior parts, and anything else unique to the car, there are very few 456s compared to 360s. If you have a problem with the headlight, seat adjuster mechanism, etc. you are going to be out a lot of money for parts, those things add up.

what you have to realize is people on Veeky Forums are so poor that they literally cannot afford the extra spark plugs

Fair enough, but my point is that when buying a car you figure these things in (or should, anyway). I knew about crazy Ferrari maintenance costs going in, if I hadn't, I would've bought something even more expensive.
Let's say that $68K 456 costs another $50K in maintenance for 5-10 years. That's $118K, still easily within the range of what I'll spend (+ purchase) on the 360 over the same time period.
It's just a question of preference.

Unfortunately so, there were some rumors about it going in production some time soon but you know how it goes with concept cars.

Have another, even better looking, one.

Citroën best car manufacturer lads.
