rip skinning guide

Alright, I couldn't save the encoder wheel for my g25. Wat do?

Made some rly simple grass but I didn't like how it came out, very low poly which makes driving on it really rough even on a controller. I'll have to find a better way

why are all those cars so sexy

Because 575 and S7 a best.

Put more triangles nearer the track and less further away.

What's the point of the fan

Yeah i guess thats the only option. I really dont want the grass mesh to be as dense as my road mesh though so i dunno what to do. I have to unpack a load of ISI tracks to maybe get some inspiration

That's Dr. Fan

Is it worth buying a xbone for Forza 4 and Horizon 3?
There's nothing the Ps4 that scratches my itch.

Get a 360 for Forza 4, they're super cheap now. And Horizon 3 is on PC.

I don't have a PC, and I meant Forza 6.

youtube.com/watch?v=C5BuFOyisEo

>inb4 TRACK LIMITS

ah, fair enough, maybe wait for a sale or something then, shit's expensive.

>dem sounds
If feels dirty watching Driveclub be played as if it's a race sim. You gotta be doing hectik skids to get that kudos man.

fans cheer you on

can you post a replay of a lap around trois rivieres?

How much boost can a stock 121 take?

which F1 Game is best? Should I just get 2015 for like $7 on kinguin?

>that fc

>first sim game was dirt rally, now used to low traction roads
>get project cars from humble bundle
>can't drive for shit on asphalt
>can't drive for shit on germany in dirt rally either

You would think asphalt would be the easier to drive on wouldn't you?

>first sim game
>doesn't mention any sims

good one

You've gotten used to managing oversteer in order to get around corners when you need to get used to taking racing lines and avoiding breaking traction

Project cars worth it off the Humble? How does it run for you? I hear performance issues are common even on higher end PCs

You should probably avoid 2015, loads of technical issues not always patched and the career mode is barebones.

>more GTR
oh bby that made my day

Also nostalgia'd at spotting this wallpaper I was using 11 years ago.

GTR 3 on unreal engine, will it be gud?
are you me?

pcars feels about as funky to drive as vanilla shift 2. i wouldnt use it to learn how to drive fast. you know somethings fucked when you get sideways (only for it to easily catch itself too) through spa turn 18 on soft tires and high wing in a gt3.

>GTR 3 on unreal engine, will it be gud?
To my knowledge it's gonna be Raceroom but without the F2P nonsense, so it's very likely to turn out great.
At the very least it's gonna have the best sounds of any sim

fun track with any car

mega.nz/#!zJxBxYbI!JxZTuLNONHYsHCfCgKbbf6Abl5EshQwOcU-jNRGRX08

Will probably be a lot of eye candy features but drive like shit, so like pcars basically.

Game?

>he can't tell it's obviously Real Corsa 3 Experience

>come across a race video from some NR2003 league from 2004
>youtu.be/frahjdj9Ups
>pretty much the same production quality of simracing broadcasts today, just with mics from 2004
>they splice in "funny" commercials during the cautions ripped from random websites
How far we haven't come

>Winner - TJ Majors

>tfw we will never have a racing game with simbin/sector3 sounds and a codemasters original soundtrack

New Flatout 4 trailer

SimBin soundtracks are pretty good

Wait does this mean that the WRC license is now up for grabs?

Why would that be the case?

Why is every sim racer so anal about driving aids when a lot of IRL race cars have them?

I admit I am a super pleb when it comes to racing games because the only driving aid I don't use is traction control most of the times and I can't be fucked to learn to drive without ABS and ESP with a fucking console gamepad, plus I am a filthy casual so I don't spend days practicing for online leagues.

That said, I still don't understand all the rage about people using driving aids.
Like, who cares, if can drive well without them, you are probably faster than those who use them anyway.

Considering they made this, and the Isle Of Man game, they can't have time for all that plus a WRC game?

This will be to the Flatout series what Insane 2 was to 1nsane.

Sadly not.

>Why is every sim racer so anal about driving aids when a lot of IRL race cars have them?
It's fags who want to dick wag and think cars have to be artificially difficult to drive or else you're not a le man.

The most reasonable thing to do is set a sim server to how the real life cars are, possibly adding in ABS because threshold braking/locking tires isn't the easiest to feel depending on the car (no ABS in open wheelers though).

However, the issues come when aids are adding external, correcting forces and grip multipliers that don't exist in real life instead of doing what the real life counterparts do (or close approximations).

WRC licence is with BigBen Interactive that has also Test Drive Unlimited

>the issues come when aids are adding external, correcting forces and grip multipliers

I can see that being the case for ESP/Stability assist, but what about grip multipliers? What aid adds artificial grip?
You are still going to spin, even with Stability on if you drive like a retard.
I am far from an expert in this, but I really don't see what aid can increase the amount of grip available.

Imagine using VR and after you crash, this happens

youtu.be/cREEx-6zX_s

>What aid adds artificial grip?
Gran Turismo 6s "Skid Recovery Force" for one.

>stage generator
OH BOY this is almost as good as V-Rally 2's stage editor.

In some games, TCS/ABS add the grip multipliers when it starts slipping.

It's about as good as GT5's track gen thing.

Is it any good?

How can I work on my neck muscles to better cope with the lateral G forces when driving a race car?

>Can't choose tire types on Dirt 4

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE CODIEEESSSS

>tfw WRC6 has more simulation value than DIRT4

>>Can't choose tire types on Dirt 4
ree indeed

a rally sim from 1996 not only has tire selection, but even setup restrictions for Group N

I've been reading the leddit AMA they've been doing and there's some good stuff in there (road position, changing weather, mixed surfaces) but they're missing some other stuff which you'd think would be just as easy to do. I'd be interested to know their design processes.

Also a lot of >muh licenses cropping up too.

Maybe DiRT 4 isn't a sim

They're trying to market it as one though.

I didn't know they were making a new game desu. I won't hold my breath though if it doesn't have the same spirit as Flatout 2 then it probably won't be good

will pcars run on a toaster like rfactor

Hey can you do more setup menu comparison webms? I really like these and I would appreciate if you could do it for every racing game. Very interesting stuff seeing different games having different setup options.

you can tell right away this isn't going to be as good as the first three.
damage model looks like shit, no deforming or anything just hinged parts moving

Not even slightly.

Now if only there was decent AI to race against.

Is there a sim that feels more realistic than Automobilista? All of those cars got so much love from devs, every class is really different, and gokarts are easily best vidya karting i've ever seen in my life. It's like LFS, except larger and with real cars.

i think i'm going to purchase original game

>$20 rf1 with sweetfx and realfeel preinstalled
>feeling realistic
make sure you buy the DLC too dumbass

as a Brazilian , i feel proud for people like this game

besides those guys are a lot mercenaries and have a national price higher as international

Nice try kraid, but I'm not falling for it.

It's just rFactor with sweetFX

/ovg/ ORECA Cup when?

/LMPCDeathSquad/ when?
>rFactor
>norschleife
>night
>GT2 cars cannot use lights
>LMPC can but can also turn them off
>GT2s must finish 2 laps
>LMPCS have to hunt them down, but cannot reverse or cut the track
>75% damage
>LMPCs have invincibility on. The GT2s don't

that's some super gay shit

No

>nip does nice rips and tracks
>uploads to youtube but wont provide links at all just to tease us

youtube.com/channel/UCT2Eg21yijTfL0cO4FbohiA

tried googling for hours but couldn't find anything other than okutama

what is better sim then?

LFS

Basically anything that isn't based on the 10+ year old isimotor engine.

ty
i'll buy pcars instead

might as well buy need for speed

rFactor

>is told not to buy something based on a 10 year old engine
>goes off to buy a game based off a 10 year old engine

mario kart

>Basically anything that isn't based on the 10+ year old isimotor engine.
>i'll buy pcars instead
It's time we have "the talk".

Nice try Ian Bell, but I'm not falling for you either
It's just shift 2 with prettier graphics and more bugs

rFactor 2 and AC feel more realistic to me, but honestly, AMS is just a bit more fun to drive. I just find it easier driving on the edge there.
