they forgot the spirit of the original which was meant to be a supercar that was reliable and put more emphasis on handling than power and speed. the new one has put too much importance on tech than good lightweight handling. the first one also broke some ground when it was the first all aluminum semi monocoque because senna just kept saying it needed to be more stiff whereas the new one feels more like its following in the footsteps of the other cars its competing against so basically 0/10 its trash we want an nsx not an nsx badge. take your fancy tech and shove it and get a prized formula 1 driver to help you design it so it handles as good as the first one.

The car is a pile of junk. It is simply not in line with what we expected from a modern supercar. The interior is complete shit. It makes the same power as a used M6 I can find on Craigslist for $16,000, and it's being sold for $180,000~

Other than accord reliability the last nsx didn't really have anything objective going for it to justify what, $60,000-90,000 price tag? most people still went for a vette, 911, or from Japan a skyrine of some sort. It was also Naturally aspirated which i'm not sure if that made it much less mod-friendly/more expensive to mod compared to the other turbo japanese cars which could easily gain more power and hold it. You use forced induction on an NSX you could possibly fuck up its resale value and on a car that expensive probably wasn't a wise idea.

I think they're looking at the "affordable hyper-car" market, but I'm not so sure there's a market for that. It's right in the price range of Ferrari's and Lambo's as well

The RX-7 was faster than the Corvette and the top-of-the-line 911 Turbo when it came out in 1992.
It was a "super sportscar" at least, and an emissions-delete away from rivaling cars like the F40, given what a dis-proportionally high increase in power and weight savings it gained doing that over other cars.

And the expectation would be that if they made a new RX-7, it'd also near/beat the NSX along with so many other much more expensive cars.

Would be really interesting to see how a new RX-7 stacks up, though I'm doubting it'll be called that. With the Supra coming back too, though, things are getting interesting. Would really like to see a return to the days of mid-range sportscars being as good or better than their $100k+ competition.

Well you should keep the catback. A modern catback doesn't obstruct too much and it keeps it from smelling like shit.

The precat, however, is heavy and greatly lowers your spool times. It decreases reliability, too. So yeah, absolutely remove that and replace with a simple downpipe.

I'm pretty sure you can defeat smog in most states/countries with just a catback and alternate tune, as well. But I'm in Florida, and we don't do smog tests.
