only thing that triggers me is bolt shitters and vehicle shitters trying to farm a good small fight

Praise Wrel

How do I learn what the fuck is going on

I literally can't tell where to go, how to win, or anything

shoot mans and follow the zerg until you learn what things do
try VR and use all the options and weapon types and vehicles to see what they're like

Just keep pressing join combat until you find a good fight, then shoot things with your gun.

>having under 2000 memelabs score
lol, shitties

>having under 2600 memelabs score
lol, shitties

the "join combat" instant action button thing works pretty well most of the time, use that and shoot enemy mans

you'll figure things out eventually, don't worry about dying, one of the main issues of the game is that it is extremely confusing and overwhelming to new players so they just end up quitting because after 3 hours they still have no idea what's going on

>melbalabs.com/buyelo/

Praise Werl?

ur not listening huh

Just start going to any even-pop fights (or as even as they can get).

Stop thinking about "winning". There is no actual winning in Planetside. Just learn to aim and shoot many mans in the head.

whats the cheapest way to procure these so called db monies?

About to auraxium the nighthawk. Which scattergat next?

doesn't matter, both pumps do the same thing, both semi-autos do the same thing, baron is the only one that's any different and in my opinion the most viable shotgun

>the most viable shotgun
not after the nerfs
thank u werl

especially after nerfs

>not having an even split of playtime on all 4 classes

If you go pump, don't use the quick pump. Go for the hard hitting one. I think that one kept its range. I don't know what else he messed with though.

With the quick pump, Werl made it so the range for a 1 shot kill is so tiny mixed with the random spread, that you may as well run an activatable knife instead.

>quick pump from literally less than 5m away
>no kill
>he turns around and kills me with a string of headshots before I get another shot
what the fuck was he thinking

The real advice would be to stop using shotguns. They were shit before and they are even worse now.

Should I run falcons or shotguns on my MAX? If shotguns, which ones can kill with a decent range?

I already aurax'd the blackjack. I'll probably just try the one that you get free these days.

But I need them auraxiums

grinders are good if you need to onemag K5 skillsuits
use mattocks in all other cases

Falcons are excellent against stationary vehicles and close range vehicles because of their very high damage output and absolutely minimal face time to return fire (lowest of all MAX weapons). They're also good against MAXes and infantry if you can lead rockets like an ex-quake pro.

Shotguns do what you'd expect, kill a lot of infantry at close range. Very useful for bio-labs and such.

You don't need to do more than buy a second Falcon and a second Scattercannon. If you want to, buy extended magazines for the Scattercannons as well.

Ravens are also worth owning against vehicles at long range, but they don't make the Falcons obsolete like so many NC players seem to think.

>You don't need to do more than buy a second Falcon and a second Scattercannon. If you want to, buy extended magazines for the Scattercannons as well.
t. literal unironic 0.5 ivi kdr
Seriously, stop giving advice, you are fucking retarded.

>MAX
>IVI
it doesn't make any difference whether you run scats, grinders or mattocks unless it's some small fight where you expect 1v1s in which case you're a turboshitter for running a MAX in a small fight

K5?
Never heard this term before

What would you have me do instead?

K5 means rank 5 Kinetic Armor, 90% of MAXes run Flak though.

>What would you have me do instead?
Not take advice from people who have no argument.

>>MAX
>>IVI
A player who's shit in a MAX is also shit at infantry.
>it doesn't make any difference whether you run scats, grinders or mattocks unless it's some small fight where you expect 1v1s
Only if you're bad.

>K5?
Kinetic 5. Grinders with extended mags are the only thing that can onemag a kinetic 5 MAX.
>What would you have me do instead?
Buy a second falcon. They can be used against vehicles at short ranges, and are very good against infantry too. At long range being good at leading won't help you, when travel time is several seconds enemy movement is just too unpredictable. At short-medium range they are excellent, but you need to be able to aim a little; you're basically a rocket primary with half the reload time and 10k EHP.
Use either grinders or mattocks, depending on whether you want higher sustainability or better accuracy. I strongly recommend mattocks if you can aim. Hacksaws' marginally higher DPS isn't too useful, and scattercannons just turn out to be kinda "meh" and don't particularly shine in any role.
Always buy extended magazines on all skillsuit arms that can use them, they have literally no downside.
Buy ravens if you want to piss off tankbabbies at long range, but it's not much of a priority. Worth buying if you have lodsa certs lying around, but absolutely not necessary.

>90% of MAXes run Flak though.
Not really, only 90% of NC maxes, because of their limited engagement range (bar the odd falcon or slug mattock). For TR/VS I've found it to be one third kinetic and two thirds flak.

t. mad babby

heres some basic guidlines for picking battles for new players:
1, ignore the base cap timer, look for hexes with 50/50 population or slight enemy overpop

2, If you show up and there are enemy vehicles everywhere, consider pulling out AA classes or even redeploying to a neighboring base to pull your own armor

3, the neighboring base's vehicle terminal is hacked. this just became a 1v1 fight and the enemy has the advantage of being invisible.

4, Luckily you have your flashli- awww fuck you forgot to cert into that for this weapon. wait, was that one of those one shot knives you heard humming?

5, you ded. welcome to planetside.

So in your opinion Scats are bad because they don't shine in any role? Does that make the Mercenary bad as well? Or any weapon that has no specific purpose? Keep in mind it's an extra 1,000 certs to go for a different shotgun and that's a lot for a new player.

At least try to articulate your point of view better than "retard ur bad, memes".

And pretty much any competent TR MAX is running Flak for the sake of lockdown/pounder doorway cheese. Otherwise they'd die instantly. Don't really know about VS since the only VS MAXes I see are part of a MAX crash.

>So in your opinion Scats are bad because they don't shine in any role? Does that make the Mercenary bad as well? Or any weapon that has no specific purpose?
MAX specialisation is vastly different than standard infantry specialisation. The variance between MAX shotguns, or chainguns, or clabclaws, is massively different than the variance between carbines, or ARs, etc. You can use an AC-X11 the same way you'd use a GD-7F at close range, and be ~20% less effective; or you can use a GD-7F at medium-long range and be ~30% less effective. Can you consistenly 1v1 a MAX with mattocks? Can you consistently kill people at mattock ranges using grinders (without having to dump three full mags)?
>Keep in mind it's an extra 1,000 certs to go for a different shotgun and that's a lot for a new player.
Since when is certing MAX a priority for new players? Wasn't there a pastebin telling new players to wait before certing vehicles and skillsuits? And, there was no real indication of being new, maybe he's just never played around with skillsuits.
>At least try to articulate your point of view better than "retard ur bad, memes".
Did you forget where you are, friendo? This is /ps2g/, memes are all we ever do.
>And pretty much any competent TR MAX is running Flak for the sake of lockdown/pounder doorway cheese. Otherwise they'd die instantly.
Not really.
>Don't really know about VS since the only VS MAXes I see are part of a MAX crash.
Right, of course, VS never uses skillsuits. Which server is this, PTS?

You're not acknowledging the fact that while Scats have none of the benefits of the other arms, they also have none of the negatives.

Miller.

If im being honest, yea, a little bit.

I've been trying to pull more sundies recently, to try and help make fights happen, but it seems like you've gotta babysit it 24/7 or else it dies in 2 seconds.

Learn how to place them and always bring a squad.

It's not that they don't have downsides, it's that being the starters, they are your reference point.

>always bring a squad.

I'm trying 2 do teamwork w/o having 2 actually work w/ a team.

While we're at it, whats the best spawn sundy loadout? Cloak?

You using cloak or shield? If you're not using either, there's your problem.

My hotel room smells like poop :(

oh man i was at the gym this other day and this one guy must have literally shat himself right there
i just passed him on my way out, but it was so fucking bad mate seriously

I pooped on the floor of a hotel room once because it constantly smelled like weed in the hallway and since my employer was paying for it I just couldn't be bothered not to.

Maybe he was a shitter

What the fuck

pls buff vs n nsync

The most viable shotgun post-nerf is the autoshotgun with buckshot

You can go with a foregrip or not, it doesn't really matter, he increased the horizontal recoil so much that reducing it by 25% literally doesn't do anything you can notice.

At barrel stuffing range it's a 1 shot kill if you get them in the head. At pump action 1-shot kill range, it's a 2-3 shot kill, which takes just about as much time as a pump action does. 4-5 if it's a heavy with his shield up. 4-8 shot kill within 10m. Don't use it outside 10m unless you're trying to get assists/steal kills.

Don't use slugs. Slugs used to be great, but now there's so much horizontal recoil that you can't keep on target effectively.

Even with buckshot you're going to have moments where the guy D's instead of A's, at the same moment your shotgun maxes its horizontal recoil skew in the opposite direction and you get this desync effect where you shoot the exact opposite of where the guy moves. It's a really frustrating new RNG feature of the gun.

t. never used a shotgun

ps2g edit when

I can only imagine that he's got a clique of 'friends' giving him 'advice' and they're collectively a bunch of infantryside saltyvet retards who want anything that kills them nerfed. Not to say the thermal nerf wasn't warranted - it was - but wrel's completely ignored how overpowered medkits are, and shotguns were never an issue to begin with.

The actual balance issues in the game:
infinite ammo guns should never have been a thing
medkits, resto kits, and all non-medic health regen in general shouldn't exist; we have regenerating shields for a reason - implement regen effects on shields, leave health regen to medics
LMG's being the do-everything gun for every range on the do-everything class
Engineers (and the archer for that matter) being next to worthless in infantry fights

Wrel needs to figure out if directive LMG's are supposed to be a sidegrade, an upgrade, or bragging rights no different from the base gun. Because right now they're a shitshow. Some directive abilities are amazing, other directive abilities are just awful. Some directives are upgrades and a lot are downgrades. Stop putting underbarrel shotguns on NC directives as their 'feature' for fucks sake, It's awkward as shit to switch to it in a fight. Make it a secondary fire mode if you're going to have it at all.

And the areas the game needs actual development in:
Resources - bases shouldn't allow infinite respawns or vehicle pulls. We have cortium now, and we know planetside 1's resources worked well enough. It's time to implement it.
Get the new ikanam out the door already. Minecraft forts didn't pan out by themselves, it's time to test if integrating them with actual bases improves them or not.
Start actually adjusting some of the bases on the map. It doesn't need to be a whole map change, do it one base at a time.
Fucking squads/leadership/outfit shit
Fix lattice/continental lattice

>Engineer being next to worthless in infantry fights
repairing maxes and giving ammo is far from next to worthless, you just don't need many of them

Directive weapons should just be skins to be honest.

>australia
>baltic

t. 0.5 ivi kdr

4.66713 actually

more like 0.466713 lmao

Heavy assault players are basically mini-maxes and medics can revive them to full health faster.

Making engineers more viable in combat would be as simple as giving them deployable cover, their minigun full head protection, and the archer overpenetration so it ignores shields and overshields and drops all regular infantry in 2 bodyshots, turning engineers into direct heavy assault and max counters.

You could even go a step further and give engineers LMG's.

no, 4.66713

lol

>bohoo ha op
>make engi much more powerful than ha currently is
are you serious

oh fugg roasted ;DD

The 'shitties' are the ones getting killed by shotguns and then thinking that means shotguns are OP.

Actually, with a few thousand collective shotgun kills so far, I can safely say that of all the players, it's the "good" ones with 2.5+ kdr in mlgpro outfits like [da] and [ac] who I kill the most effectively. They have this habit of playing like complete fucking retards charging into rooms without giving a shit about position or distance.

sure thing kiddo
post stats

Shotguns were always shit but at least they let those 0.2 kdr lowbies get a kill on br120 once in a while. Now they won't even get that

I remember this word floating around the devs, far too long ago:
"sidegrades"

You really shouldn't need to give an autist a straight upgrade "reward" for being autistic; gettin' gudder without a gaudy-looking crutch should be its own reward.

They really should make the directive skins look nice instead of fucking awful

Just get rid of that awful auraxium shader. It's like daybreak employees have absolutely zero sense of aesthetic.

oh noes, now that lowbie will actually have to learn better! how awful!

Funny because they used to look nice. Then they turned them into this black vomit.

Auraxium armors should be completely redone.

They never looked nice, they looked tolerable.
now they are shit yeah

Nah they looked nice.

The "good" player should be the one improving, lowbies gonna be shitters no matter what.

It's the height of hypocrisy for these "good" players to be crying for nerfs to weapons that kill them.

They sound exactly like the "shitters" they have so much contempt for.
