In perfect world tanks protect assault heroes, and are not dealing all the damage by itself

What if the orb was designed to be stronger on characters with larger health, armor, shield pools? So it's a 50% nerf on someone like Roadhog but only 30% on someone like Mei or soldier

Well, Overwatch is still quite young. A lot of popular MOBA were a total mess at the start (and most of them still are) with some patches changing almost completely the game.

Also OW is quite ambitious, TF2 had half of the characters and majority of them were more simple. OW is trying to make and fps with a large cast of characters with different roles, abilities and playstyles.

Still, the slow updates and some really shitty decisions make me a bit skeptic, I hope Blizzard will manage to make it way better

I think the joke here with Rein as Xuanzang and Winston as Wukong is the contrast with the actual characters. Rein is bold and boisterous like Wukong whereas Xuanzang is mostly level-headed and the butt of most jokes.

People don't have super strong emotional attachments to Robots, Gorillas, and Pigs so it's easy to go all-out on a cool or silly skin for them

This is the main problem with the playerbase desu.
Same as having Hanzo or Widowmaker on your team is a guaranteed loss not because of how unimpactfull those heroes are, but because your entire team is going to spend half the game flaming and the other half throwing it to send a message.
