I generally hate frivolous categories, but once theres stuff on cross platform it really muddies the waters.

Just have a VC leader board, and an N64 leaderboard and be fucking done with it. Maybe mark what version of the game is being played for the run (PAL, NTSC-UC, NTSC-J).

Depends how competitive the game is.
Obviously in shit like OoT and SM64, the difference between leaderboard times can be milliseconds, so it HAS to have some kind of parity for it to be remotely fair.

The game I run is on PC and was ported to the PS1. The game got some heavy modification for the PS1 port and a shit load of loading times, but they refuse to make it it's own category, which is bullshit.

Yeah I agree. Thats why I thought it was always bullshit when Cosmo pulled out that iQue to snatch a WR because its faster.

It should just be totally platform based. If you have a game on multiple platforms like Resident Evil 4, just have the leaderboard be divided into platforms as well as categories.
