Why is this allowed? If they give the enemies infinite MP, they should at least give the player access to a spell that would protect your buffs from being dispelled, similar to Tetraja.
I really liked how in Soul Hackers the enemies actually could run out of MP, and if they used physical moves they actually paid the HP cost. Why is mainline so inferior to the spinoffs?

Buffing/debuffing is never a waste. Even on a boss that constantly wipes them from the field, they still have a noticeable effect on the damage you deal/take.

There's also Imposing Stance in Apocalypse which pretty much forces the boss to choose between attacking and dispelling.

It's a waste if you don't get a chance to attack before they're dispelled. It's also always a waste because of the reason I've mentioned - if you both you and the boss take turns and buffing/debuffing and dispelling it's always your loss, because they have infinite MP and you can never win the arms race.

Are angels demons or are they angels? Demons refer to them as angels sometimes but other times they're just referred to as demons. Inconsistency, or difference in the angelic tier?

A few bosses like Quetzalcoatl and Medusa really gave me a pounding the first few times. Usually I find the answer is just "fuse more demons"

Enemies in Nocturne, DDS, and SJ actually do have finite MP. It doesn't stop them from using enemy only skills, though.
You can also use MP restoring items, and the games are usually pretty good about giving plenty of those out.
