Not making the second phase permanent was a mistake, when the lights go out it becomes really hard, but since it's temporary you can just chicken your way out if it.

Keep leading him around that one rock formation and hitting him when he rounds the corner. Otherwise, stay close enough to him that he switches to using the Saw Spear. You'll need a Torch or Hand Lantern while in there, so keep one with you. He can heal once, so it's just a war of attrition until one of you makes a mistake.

he is not the worst the dlc has to offer man, either ask for help or learn to deal with a bad weapon with shit tracking

Grab a torch and fight him at the exit of the cave. Don't back off, use the silver sword instead to match his speed and upgrade your fucking weapon.

Go through forbidden woods, do Rom, then do yahar'gul and you have a +9 weapon.
