Just wanna give another "fuck you" to Ontario insurance rates.

HORY SHET I live in a socio-capitalist hellhole where motorcycles are only regarded as toys and I paid 800€ for the first year of my motorcycle insurance (mandatory only). 2005 GSX-R sevenfiddy. Now with premiums it's come down to 350€.
Nicholas Richardson
191/month for my drz mememobile, not fun.
Asher Morris
isn't this because ontario requires $1 million coverage or something?
Camden Rivera
why don't you just move away?
Cooper Thomas
what's up with that extra reflector right by the headlight?
Matthew Cruz
Told you the charger was fucked. Just get a new battery and a battery tender and don't leave your lights on next time
Yeah it shouldnt be a yuge deal, but for future reference they're a couple cents online and you can buy them in packs of like 30 so you can always have them on hand from now on. I wouldnt worry about it this time though, just put it back in. Also a tip for your oil filter, stab a screwdriver thru it and use it for leverage to get the filter off. Sometimes they're a pain to get off with channel locks
Jonathan Rogers
Where are all you UK people then? I am in North Yorkshire.
Brayden Brooks
What years is the ybr?
Andrew Richardson
Are you a farmer? Isn't that where Richard Hammond lives? Do you know him?
Adrian Perry
Wait, do US insurance policies have different maximum coverage from state to state?
Aaron Sullivan
Sorry, meant to say 'US/Canada'.
Ryder Hill
different insurance laws cause price differences from state to state, at least in the US. For example, Michigan has no-faullt insurance laws, which means rates are fucking stupidly high.
Ian Hill
wtf? i pay 70/year
Joseph Ross
its 2010.
Christian Turner
N. Ireland.
Joseph Collins
100 a year for my WR Yamaha wins again
Juan Carter
Now just find some wizards for the south, and the sheep fuckers and you'll have the unintelligible group.
Carter Gutierrez
>mfw $400 a year on a viffer
Parker Allen
>€220/y on a big adv bike with no damage free years
Why do you guys feel the need to pay so much?
Camden Rivera
You're not in Ontario.
Isaiah Jackson
>Mfw not in ontario
Chase Reyes
>tfw £465 a year for fully comp insurance on a Panigale, with 5 years no claims Feels average, man. Could be worse, I guess. However, from the quotes I've had, it doesn't seem like those 5 years make any difference at all.
Jason Jenkins
>he's a Euro-peon
Henry Bennett
Bit late, but I'm in Devon.
Elijah Wright

Nathan Parker
Post panigale
John Ward
Hey /dbt/
I'm going to be getting a bike pretty soon. Whats some recommended stuff to keep with me and also whats recommended for a helmet lock?
Ethan Gonzalez
Picking it up Friday, can't wait.
Lucas Allen
It depends.
A weekend rider, a road tripper, and a commuter all need different shit. Anyone with basic planning skills should be able to figure it out for themselves. Just get some pelican cases if you need more storage, and make sure you can fit a bungee net on the passenger seat
Also backpack strapped to seat > backpack on back
Evan Baker
Noice.
Justin James

Austin Morales

Justin Peterson
>Whats some recommended stuff to keep with me Charged phone Wallet Keys
You'll figure out what else. Depends on your riding. I always bring water, a disk lock and a bungee net in my top case, which also fits my helmet. On small nice weather days I also have my proper camera, gopro and work clothes with me.
hows this for a first bike? old enough that maintenance should be simple-ish (and this bike will probably need a whole shitload of maintenance) and cheap enough that there's room in the budget for parts for said maintenance.
thoughts? im just looking for something to be sorta sporty, cheap, fun, easy to work on, and above all free to park at school
Owen Perez
Hey dbt, I am looking to buy my first bike. I am looking at the Honda 250 rally. What are some other options to consider? I am in the usa.
Will consider used if I can actually find one.
Nicholas Martin
DRZ 400
Justin Carter
good luck finding one of those used. just get a WR250R, it's a better bike anyway
Kevin Cox
Went to Ocotillo Wells SVRA this weekend with buddies
We are all newbs on dirt- come from cars and road bikes; but man is the rugged terrain fun! definitely looking into the new CRF Rally
Thats pretty cheap good bike and dosent look that bad but parts arent that abundant. Try looking for a suzuki bandit/katana those can be found for cheap and were in production untill 2007-8 and parts are cheap and everyware.

>Dry cell
Thats just a cheap agm battery. I hope it last at least 1 year m8.
Eli Barnes
Odds are I won't have this bike by then, but it's a hell of a lot better than that shit wet t-cell battery it had before that was deader than shit.
Hunter Cox
>TFW no tiny Honda V4.
Have you sold that V4 beauty yet, you ungrateful bastard?
I'll regreat it one day, mark my words.
Lucas Martinez
>not getting lithium for maximum weight savings
Daniel Young
There both wet cell. But the old lead style batteries are shit.
Michael Wood
*You*'ll regret it one day
John Butler
Are lithium batteries good in the cold. Ive been wanthing to get a new but i wanted to know this first.
Cooper Harris
My insurance for my memebike is 1,150 a year for full coverage.
Dylan Jackson
>GF complains about parking >tell her she should get a motorcycle instead >she's actually receptive to the idea Time to live my dream of owning a Grom through her
Carter Parker
that's how much insurance cost on my Ninja 250. Full coverage was around 90, uninsured medical coverage was the rest of the 310 bucks.
Jack Rivera
>Spending $120 on a bike I bought for 480
Tru
Andrew Turner
I've had a lithium battery for about 16 months so far, no issues, even in
Noah Ramirez
>TFW $68 a year for my shadow in denver
Evan Foster
...
Alexander Ward
Nice, thats what i wanted to hear. When the battery dies im getting the lithium on for my second bike.
Camden Kelly
Also fuck BC socialist insurance scam rates. I pay 220/month for my shitbox car and 150/month for my bike.
Jackson Davis
Only con is you have to ride a viffer
Ryder Perez
>can't in2 riding
stupid faggot
Joseph Torres
>He's never ridden in the snow
Jordan Taylor
Bikes do less damage than cars but you're more likely to get into an accident on a bike. Seems about right.
Josiah Peterson
Fifteen.
Adrian Young
>$1800 a year for a motorcycle sounds about right nah senpai
Dylan Howard
that's why he fell lol
Christopher Campbell
Its just a bolt on kit. But yeah the WRR is better
Hudson Reed
I've actually changed my mind, I was just given an old end can from a guy who races an NC30. I think I just had the winter blues, I felt a lot better with the bike after I went out for a bit of blast with my father. I'll have to just save up for a 2stroke another day.
Jeremiah Howard
That's insane man. Treat it well and have fun
Ian Adams
I'll believe it when I see it
David Richardson
That's better. Now post SSS.
Caleb Jackson
Sure.
What's SSS?
Jack Wood

Robert Sanchez

7th gen vfr? I have an 5th gen and it looks kinda pigfat and uglo, not sure if i should sell it because i do love the engine.
John Long
Makes sense. The only pictures i have of it are already here though, because my phone needed a reset. I'll have to snap some on the weekend.
Aaron Sanders
>pigfat low powered SSS why though?
Joshua Baker
Makes the same as a 600cc sports bike but fat.
Ryan Campbell
not really, it only makes 105 hp. 600cc's make like 20% more and weigh less.
never understood the SSS for the VFR..
Jackson Roberts
Because Honda has a sick sense of humor.
>Hey guys, everyone wants a taste of our V4, so let's make one with VTEC for some reason, and let's put them on really heavy, expensive, luxury-oriented bikes to satisfy them.
Remember the VFR1200? Same thing.
John Robinson
I'd own a VF500F before the new ones
Samuel Nguyen
The old ones got it because muh endurance racing.
These newer ones are just keeping the tradition alive, I guess.
