not true. obviously don't drive on them in the summer but it's not like the moment it become above freezing you're burning through rubber.
Plus, if you're using summer tires in the summer then there's no reason to not get winter tires for the winter.

No, driving around with winter tyres above ~80 (give or take) will literally melt them. Winter tyres are made with rubber that stays soft and pliable at lower temperatures to ensure optimal grip in winter, when heated in temperatures like that they will gum up and deteriorate. The same principle is true with summer tyres which will freeze and crack in cold temperatures because they are designed for hot summer use.
Depending in your car this isn't a bad option, but if you're concerned about performance you cannot beat 2 sets of tyres, 1 set for winter and 1 set for summer.

All seasons are shit in cold weather. Winter tires grip best in very cold weather but not in warm.
