why are we suddenly so fast again? for about a week we had a thread almost every day.
Sebastian Price
New people, maybe?
Connor Hall
Release is imminent, lots of people revisiting the trilogy. Some people like coming in to find out what the fuck the new game is even about. It's only going to get faster from here, hold onto your butts.
Nathan James
Andromeda is two months away, making a lot of people to try the old trilogy.
Charles Clark
TEN HOURS.
Andrew Watson
I expected that to happen around christmas but we were kinda slow at the time.
Nolan Moore
People are back in the office now with ample time to shitpost.
Isaac White
I've seen the trailers and shit I just don't read dev diaries. That's TOO much time investment for only ONE game out of several I'm interested in this year, hell it's only one game out of 2 that I'm hyped for that's releasing in March, technically 3 but Nier's PC version won't be out yet.
I mean from the trailers and E3's and all that, they've pitched "exploring a new galaxy" and "600 years after the events of the Mass Effect Trilogy"
It's only in these dev diaries and interviews that most people don't read or see, that you hear that they leave before the conclusion of ME3 and are completely naive to the reapers entirely, and won't be able to build mass relays so they're going to be stuck in a tiny corner of the galaxy.
Gabriel Cook
she's why
Isaac Scott
People might be finishing up.
I started the trilogy around November and finished last week, now probably gonna move onto DA:O before Andromeda releases.
Brody Adams
I hate you.
Andrew Perez
I started ME1 again a few days ago, I'm about half through it, but I also need to replay Twilight Princess HD and finish the bonus dungeon in that since I got that for Christmas and I hear the Amiibo summons a follower in BotW if you complete the bonus dungeon or some shit.

Question for ya /meg/.
Will I be able to go full imperialist in the new game? I'm supposed to be somebody looking for a new homeworld for humanity, right? Kinda can't see there being a nice option for "this place looks nice, it's our home now".
Or is this plotline going to vanish after five or so hours?
Camden Richardson
...
David Smith
hopefully said imperialism might be what starts the story, not-Protheans get all butt-hurt about newfags shitting up their galaxy
or it could be like DAI >20$ for the ending
Logan Hall
>Will I be able to go full imperialist in the new game?
No. The enemy race they're introducing are called The Kett. In some interviews they've said we'll be capturing outposts from them so it sounds like they're the native imperial power who is also pushing into the Helius cluster.
>I'm supposed to be somebody looking for a new homeworld for humanity, right?
Yes, you're a pathfinder for the human ark (Hyperion). You've inherited the job from your pops who is KIA/MIA after the game's tutorial.
>Kinda can't see there being a nice option for "this place looks nice, it's our home now".
Seems like there are multiple planets open for colonization which is weird given there are only 20k humans or so.

Right, like in ME3 (I believe) you are locked out of upgrades 6-10 until you import an ME3 game.
Jayden Nguyen
So like the upgrade slots? Alright,I guess that's fine.

>keelah you're so soft, and warm too! >mmmhh I'm never going to be able to sleep alone again.
It feels like the story of the Mass Effect trilogy is split into two parts that just don't seem to work together.
You have Commander Shepard running around the galaxy and dealing with people and their otherwise minor issues and helping them and stopping criminals and setting things straight and building alliances etc
And then you have Commander Shepard et al trying to destroy skyscraper-tall robots from blasting all known civilizations to bits with big red lasers.
Jaxson Morris
Honestly, ME's main plot (defeating the Reapers) is pretty simple and is far from being the main draw for most people, which is the side stories with the characters and the setting.
Hence why a lot of people disliked the endings, they put too much focus (and unnecessary complexity) in the Reaper stuff and completely sidelines the fates and conclusion of the characters.
Xavier Collins
>WG pushes random politics into the thread >Gets upset when people talk about alien girls
I thought he was cool
Juan Carter
Just watched a few trailers for Andromeda. Why is everyone so negative about it all?
The only things that irked me off the bat was - the horrible female character face & animation (but thats not new, even ME1, 2, &3 had shitty animations) - crafting - seems like more of a single character experience, I didn't see any team coordinating attacks
Nathan Wilson
I don't know that people are negative on it. If we were negative we'd just shrug our shoulders and just move on to something else. ME:A is something we want to play and it's on the most anticipated RPG list of many sites.
That said, we can be critical. People are upset that we're leaving the Milky Way and throwing away a lot of lore that was built up over several games, novels, and comic books.
Combat animations look like shit. There doesn't seem to be a lot of weight to the combat. The last gameplay we saw had the flame thrower skill featured prominently and enemy health bars not doing much of anything.
UI looks like shit. Skill system is nested through too many screens. Companion portraits look like amateur tumblr shit.
They keep shoving PeeBee in our faces.
Game is two months from release and we haven't had a proper hands on demo of the game's single player yet.
I imagine a lot of this will recede as they start giving us more unadulterated gameplay footage and the hype takes over.
Colton Garcia
Peebee didn't seem that bad in-game, from the little I saw. Obviously that one picture everyone posts is fucking awful
Leo Collins
They're simply catering to their target audience.
Jack Bell
/meg/ I'm having a problem with my pc copy of Mass Effect 1, it doesn't give me the new game plus option so I can't use the load import option for ME2 because of this. I'm using origin.
Ayden Green
Well there's a couple of layers to the PeeBee thing, and not all of it is fair. Part of it is her design; the raccoon stripe, the leather jacket with bare midriff, and the return of breathing masks.
The other, IMO unfair, part is tying her to Sera. People see a couple of quirky/shitty run animations and hear that she's irreverent and we're immediately calling her Space Sera. We don't really know enough to make that call yet.
Zachary Gonzalez
Stripe is a bit odd, is it her skin or like face paint/tattoo thing?
The jacket I don't mind. Not sure what you mean about breathing masks.
I know with the Sera thing Bioware said they wanted to purposefully make ugly characters, right? Something about trying to make them more realistic by making them less pretty? That doesn't seem to jive with that male Ryder character being good looking. Not sure how you would even force ugliness and make it work right.
But yeah I've totally missed out on all Andromeda stuff. I played ME1 knowing virtually nothing about ME and really loved it at the time. Jumped right into ME2 and was disappointed at the change is style of game (though its sort of my favorite at this point) and then I played ME3 and enjoyed it until the end. The end genuinely left such a bad taste that I walked away from the entire trilogy for a couple of years.
Isaiah Foster
I think the raccoon thing is cute.
Sebastian Peterson
>That doesn't seem to jive with that male Ryder character being good looking. Male Ryder looks like one of those guys you expect to see in a gaybar. Even his facial hair looks flamboyant.
It makes me laugh, I just hope I can give him some proper facial hair.
Lucas Williams
I think it's a face paint type thing, it's definitely not something we've seen on Asari before. I don't mind it much either.
Here's a picture of the breathing mask. In ME1 every character had full on space suits with helmets. In ME2 they decided to do this (pictured) with everyone and leave them in stupid shit like Miranda's skin tight suit in the vacuum of space.
And yeah, I don't think your experience with the trilogy is that different than mine. ME1 was really cool for me, it hit a lot of the stuff I like as a science fiction fan. Then 2 came out and it had that retarded opening followed by a lot of boring corridors.
ME3 was ok, the ending didn't bother me as much because I only ever went Destroy. Point of the series is to kill the reapers, I'm going to kill me some goddamned Reapers.
Dylan Gutierrez
>tfw no qt femquar to cuddle
Jordan Jenkins
...
Dylan Barnes
Main reason people are negative are because it looks like a massive open world game like Dragon Age Inquisition (which didn't end up that good) which isn't really the point of ME
