>first aid kit

Useless weight. Gorilla tape and superglue will suffice.

I usually carry

Blankets
Axe
Cast iron pan
Ranch dressing
A bit of dry firewood
Misc fluids
A few spare parts
A decent set of tools

>first aid is useless
>camping supplies are useful

High visibility vest, and if you've got a bed a set of tie downs.

tow rope, booster cables, breathe mints

Warning triangle if you don't have one.
Heavy duty flashlight
Bic lighter

Fucking great advice.

>Axe
Just in case you need to smell like a middle school locker room?

FIRE EXTINGUISHER

aaaannd
That's it, because I don't run junk and I don't rescue maidens.

youre so cool

My colleague swerved for a moose, his car flipped and caught on fire. Had it not been for a passerby with a fire extinguisher he would be dead today.

that's about it, that's what I always have in my van, planning to buy AED

I think OP meant for a daily driver, not a M3 Bradley.

Anything can happen on the road, bb

I'm a daily driver, but you wouldn't believe the shit I've dealt with on the streets. from pulling a car that was already pulling a car. Wrecked car with unconscious driver inside in the middle of fucking nowhere.

not to mention your car dying in the said middle of nowhere. Extra points for losing parts of the van on the way.

plus the look on your doctor's face when he asks drunkenly you about who sewed injured hand, and you tell him that you, a fucking car mechanic, did

Where does the bottle of Jäger come in

For drinking when stuck in traffic, of course

for those special occasions when you need to either pass time, or dull the pain...
I did that only once, fell asleep behind the wheel, woke up and realized that I started drinking in a parking lot and then complained about the car in front of me not moving. Good times.

I carry a 2 sets of sockets, 3/8ths drive flex head ratchet, 1/2" drive 2' flex head ratchet, 5 quarts of oil, jb weld, 2 qt gear oil, a gallon of potable water, a 4lb sledge, a sawzall, gasket sealant/maker, 3 pairs of vice grips, 9mm wrench, trolley jack, 6x6x6 piece of wood, 18" pry bar, and a pair of knipex adjustable pliers.

>American-made pocket knife

Swiss' does it better

I guess driving is so cheap in the US that carrying 100lbs of dead weight you rarely use doesn't matter whatsoever?

Swiss knives are fine too, but I'm not talking about a multi-tool knife. Just a plain old pocket knife for self defense and general use

I don't consider it dead weight, but I see your point. I'd rather have it and not need it etc etc

Central Europe, 78 kilograms, its like driving with someone who might help you, and as I said, its a van, its made for lugging shit around

if you live in a cold climate

That dead weight comes in handy when it's -35 and you're stuck somewhere 50 miles from cell phone reception.

Trunk. Need a jackstand just in case I can't find a rock or a cinderblock.

Sounds like overkill.

I just carry one of these.

Forgot pic.

HI GUYS

What if your battery dies senpalo

This. Plus ccw.

Because I don't live in the middle of nowhere and am never more than a few miles from a Dunkin Donuts.

Car battery?

Portable jumpers like the one I posted can either jump it, or they can be used to start the car on their own.

Oh, that's pretty handy actually. Do you remember how much it cost you?

A bit less than $60.

What are you implying?

Buy me one

Might as well have a jacket if you're going to have a blanket

Spare change of clothes

Spare bulbs

plant pot + dirt

AAA membership and cell service...and a gun

The only thing I consistently move from my house to my car is my pistol. Everything else stays in the car

-Jumper cables
-Spare phone charger and a solar powered quick charger
-First aid backpack that includes needle and thread, duct tape, peroxide and rubbing alcohol, bandages, and over the counter pain meds.
-flashlight
-bag with shirt, jeans, and old shoes. Also a new toothbrush

I keep the overnight bag with clothes per advice of my brother. Never know when you're gonna need dry clothes

Me.

>TFW pocket knife is illegal here in australia and i can be charged for having one in my car

cuckstralia

Flashlight. Changing tires in the dark sucks.

That fucking blows. What do you carry for self defense?

Nothing. I literally got pulled over, car searched for drugs (i don't do drugs, its just because i was driving across state border) but they found my pocketknife and charged me for carrying a concealed weapon.

Sorry, man. What do you drive?

>jumper cables
>jump-start battery pack
>flashlight
>radiator coolant
>duct tape
>first aid kit with CPR mask barrier
>Swiss army knife
>pocket knife with glass breaker

>several emergency ration bars

The bottle of coolant and duct tape actually has been used once. A hose leaked enough coolant one time to trip the sensor on my truck. I Pulled over, waited a few minutes, cleaned off the hose, and duct taped the living hell out of it. Poured in some more coolant and plodded home.

I just keep my entire camping backpack in my trunk (pad, sleeping bag, tent, some food, other normal camping stuff). It's definitely not necessary, but if I ever get stuck in the middle of nowhere or I get stuck at work for a few days because of a blizzard, it's nice to have all that stuff. In the back I have a thick water resistant jacket if I have to get out while it's snowing, another rain jacket, some gloves, a few hadn tools, ice scraper/brush, and in the glove compartment I keep some de-icer, a mylar blanket, a window punch, and of course the owner's manual.

90% of that isn't necessary; all you need are things like a scraper, blanket, jacket and gloves, jumper cables, and maybe a little water/food/first aid. I live in a small town and drive long distances across remote areas during pretty much any weather year round, so it's nice to know I could shelter in my car for a couple days if it came to it, which is highly unlikely.

Long trips add:
- Metric & SAE socket set
- Floor jack
- 2 jack stands
- Air compressor
- Torque wrench
- Breaker bar
- Set of metric & SAE end and allen wrenches

If I'm going to be driving ~6,000 miles, I'm going to be ready for it.

Had a coil pack go bad on me in BFE Utah last year. Was able to re-seat it and get the car to limp along to the nearest town, where I had a replacement overnighted to me.

Rubber floor mats because easy to vacuum or spray clean & can't hold mold/germs like carpets do.

TRUNK:
Rubber trunk floor mat
OEM cargo net

TRUNK ORGANIZER CONTAINER: manual air pump, turtle wax ICE detailer, windex, bounty papertowels, blue shop towel roll, car duster, full first aid kit box (can float too), touch up paint, 3x 39gal trash bags, 3x 13gal white trash bags, 4x microfiber towels, full fuse kit, 3 bungee cords, generic toolset).
OEM tire leak sealant, oem 12v compressor.
Cardboard boxes.
Duct Tape.
Zip Ties (8",4")

INTERIOR (rear passenger footwell):
Small trashcan with liner bag.
Dash camera 1080p.
2x 16oz bottled water
Fancy organizer box: bounty roll, wet wipes package, low lint plush toilet paper roll (blow nose), 2x microfiber, one waffleweave microfiber).
State, City, & bike/hiking trail maps

INTERIOR (glove compartment):
red mesh zip pouch: driver manual, registration, license platephoto, insurance card).
blue mesh zip pouch: (notepads, pens, pencil).
driving gloves, 120 lumen LED flashlight

CONSOLE:
800 lumen LED flashlight
mileage record book
misc.

HIDDEN:
Spare wallet $200 cash, variety bills.photocopy driver license.
Container $7 coins (quarters, dimes, nickels).
Swiss army knife.
Paper with various HOA gate codes, phonenumbers in case i forget or lose cell,AAA member number & phone #.

NOTES:
Hefty trash bag good for impromptu park meeting or picnic takeout, and if you poke hole for head, it is pseudo raincoat too. I have always had a small trash container by habit since my home state had a trashbag/container law for all cars due to everyone tossing trash on hiways. I use wipes a lot for face oil or dirty hands. Plush toilet paper is my favorite for blowing nose and I use the low-lint Members Mark brand from Sam's Club since they are 4.25 x 4 inch sheets and not tiny soakthru sheets of other brands.

WIth this stuff I am alway able to drive at least 500km in the case of a emergency, wich is more than likely since I live near Tihange powerplant.

You're gonna use a fucking knife to scrape frost off your windows? Mmkay bud

For us Americans who can no longer buy normal gas cans new anymore and are forced to deal with ones that're like pulling back a foreskin to open 'em, buy a VP 5 gallon jug. It's about $33 accounting for the fact that you have to buy the nozzle, but it's the best thing on Earth.

I had TWO of those terrible gas cans. Eventually I replaced the first one with one that was lever actuated and actually fit in a filler neck without assistance and its valve started leaking after about a year.

If I had bought one of these, I'd still be using it a decade later and would've spent about the same.

And Rugg makes THE BEST damn trunk shovels and snow brushes.

The brushes K-Marts sell and the Black & Decker compact shovels Family Dollar sells are good alternatives if you can't get 'em.

But, Rugg, man. Not only are they well designed, well built, and cheaper than their competition, they're made with IMPROVED PRIDE. American made out of American materials.

>first aid kit

Useless weight.

Why scrape? you start the car, turn on the heating and turn on all the lights, get the sweeper, start sweeping the car.
by the time you are done, the frost is gone, and you can drive. if its not, scraping will not help as you have to have completely clean car anyway.

(Starting 2017 its illegal in our country (Czech) to have ANY snow on the car, fines are up to 100 usd)
