Why was italy so bad at war in general?

Why was italy so bad at war in general?

mommas boys

WWII
>newborn country with little experience of war
>every soldier spoke a different language - italian language was spreaded way after the unification of the country, mainly furing the fascism thanks to the radio programs
>high grades in militia were given to morons - "we are not gonna do any war, it's better making my cousin officer so he can have an easy overpayed job"
>generals tried to make battles like the ones of the napoleon's era, which don't works of course
WWII
>just hit france once and the war is over
>it's not over
They were not ready for a large scale war at all.

>why is italy so bad at war
>posts pic of a war Italy won

???????

>lost every battle to the fucking Austrians of all people
>the country that couldn't finish off tiny fucking Serbia
America won more of WWI than Italy.

well, if you say so I guess it's true

Lack of good generals, military equipment was trash, strategies were even more trash.

This doesn't explain why they lost to the Abyssinians, who didn't even use firearms whilst Italy did...

Reminder that Italy managed to lose against WW2 France while it was getting stoped by the Germans in the north

stomped*

It is true. Italy didn't win dick. They just happened to be on the winning side. They're the Mexico of WWII.

and don´t forget Greece

>decisively defeat Austria-Hungary and the war ends a week later.
>not victory

pick 1

Italian tradition of pure moron officers

they know it and nobody want to die because of morons
they even made movies of it

>who didn't even use firearms whilst Italy did...
But the Abyssinians did? They had guns supplied by the Russians in large numbers.

>Why was Italy
>bad at war
>in general
>general
Generals being so incompetent is the reason.

Disingenous to give Italy full credit for Vittorio Veneto. Britain had set up the assault well before and had already taken half of it before Italy began their assault. Not to mention that Austria was focused elsewhere given that their troops were mutinying and declaring independent states all over the empire.

t. burger assblasted because italy got more out of WWI than america, even though it "partecipated less" [citation extremely needed]

Ignoring the worthiness of NCO's and shit tier CO's.

>military equipment was trash
During WW1 it was competitive. Not the best of the best but not trash either.

>who didn't even use firearms whilst Italy did
I want this meme to end.
Also, considering the disadvantageous position relative to Italy's supply lines (only way to East Africa was through the Suez Canal), I'm impressed they managed to hold on their own colony in Erithrea and not get it invaded.

When you have officers who routinely refuse to comply with their superiors and colleagues for political reasons you can't really expect to perform well.
I think it was Graziani the one who refused to move his division in the ethiopian war (which basically left another italian contingent stranded without support in enemy territory) until he got his way in a political matter about military and political high offices.
Messe also did the same kind of shit. And most others really, it was the only way to actually survive in the high level of the italian military.

Pétain is a TRAITOR.

because they are Berber rape babies who like to LARP as romans

Imho WWI Italy wasn't bad. For most of the war they had bad equipment and shitty generals/high comand, nonetheless they did their job agaist Austria. Caporetto's defeat was a german army's doing, germans who were called by the austrian because another italian offensive as the ones previous to Caporetto had a chance to break through the austrian line

>shitty generals

This man takes the prize as maybe the worst general of WWI. As soon as they fired him Italy began winning fights

Kek I know about Cadorna, he was shit in all ways
>bad tactics
>treated his men like shit
>thinks everybody hates him and all soldiers are cowards/traitors

Italy could have kicked some serious kraut ass had it not been for Luigi "throw troops at them until you win" Cadorna

so it is true, the worst enemy to Italians, are Italians

>Austria-hungary has 3 guys defending the southern border while the rest of the nation fights Russia, Romania and Serbia at the same time
>Italy launches a dozens of disastrous assaults that result in millions of casualties
>they finally overwhelm the defenders years later
>italy is not bad at war guise

Imagine losing to fucking 1940 France and this meanwhile they're getting buttraped by Germany
How bad must one be...

Hitler should have cancelled the alliance with Italian right after that

NEVER FORGET INVASION OF GREECE

MACARONI BOYS ETERNALLY BTFO

the reason is that Italy was a very young country, in which people from Milan, Sicily, Florence and Venice spoke their own languages and didnt really feel deep down they were the same people.
The die for your fatherland, we are all brothers in arms thing, didnt exist at all for them.
