/indie/ - Indie And Obscure Games General

Mado edition

Last thread:
>What the fuck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as LISA, Yume Nikki, OFF, Middens, Underrail, Machinarium, DashBored, Vampire of the Sands, Braid, Limbo, Axiom Verge, Guacamelee, The Desolate Hope, Burrito Galaxy,Cookie Clicker, Stardew Valley, etc. as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Rayman, Pillars Of Eternity, Rise Of Nations, and Valkyria Chronicles.

Mobile or consoles, flash or unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads (since they have no other home in Veeky Forums), however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

>How can I contribute?
All we need right now is people to talk about their loved indie and miscellaneous games, so don't be afraid to post, bump and reply your fellow anons. Also we're looking for anons to make new pastebins/wikis/images and update the ones already made. And please give lots of feel, love, kind and nice to everyone, except namefags. And be sure to make a new thread if nobody else does.

Last thread had a grand total of 2 posts before dying, but I know that if we all pull together, we can kill this thread even quicker this time.

Why do you play indies? What are you looking for?

>Pillars Of Eternity
Wonder if the sequel's announcement will mean more traffic for /indie/, or if it'll be so much that they'll split off and make their own general.

Who knows how these things work. Seems weird that /underrail/ never took off.

That's probably because Underrail's real home is /v/.

In what way?

When there is something new to talk about, Underrail can easily sustain its own threads on /v/ and get to bump limit. So when there's a big announcement, we take the discussion to /v/. Similarly if a new player makes a thread and sticks around to ask questions, it'll be a successful thread that may or may not hit the limit. In slower times, when it's just a few of us playing the game, it's good to have a place where we can talk about it, but we do not need our own thread.

Ohh yeah. Makes sense.

/indie/ has more games than any other general but the slowest traffic kek

we need some drama queens and tripfagging to spice this place up

We most certainly don't.

The prophecy will be fulfilled user, there will come a day that one game will come to /indie/ and it will bring along the ones that will destroy this place. It's written.

But there are other generals with more games, we're basically LISA/UnderRail general with occasional side dish.

has anyone here ran the rpgmaker varient on android? it works pretty well but crashes in some games, im not sure if I screwed up the RTP install though, I copy pasted the whole thing forgetting it has the unofficial patch that some games use.

the one I use is easyRPG player, incase you have no idea what im talking about.

So what would your PC do with all the mutagen he found throughout the game?

Copypastan from previous thread since it died and unfortunately young death:
If anyone has a Deep Caverns save and doesn't mind sharing it'd be great if you could upload it. Last thread made me want to go back to it, but it's more interesting to do it with a build that is not my own. The automatic save the game makes when you exit the elevator would be perfect.

Something exotic would be nice, but I really don't care one way or another. I'll take anything.

Drop it all on Fort Apogee, of course. Those assholes should keep their grubby hands away from the Institute. They do a lot of shit, but that was crossing the line.

>the faceless are responsible for the loss of biocorp's research

This means war.

I can't believe I actually made fanart of CLASSIC GAME

>it will never be finished

That's cool. I like it.

Well not really, only in one particular place. It's mentioned like a dozen times that Biocorp was already falling apart, and the Faceless down there just took the opportunity to break free.

And the research wasn't really lost. Half of it was recovered by the Tchortists. The other half lies with the Faceless and their ultra advanced science fiction city.

Invade the faceless, mutant war NOW.

It was inevitable. They only expedited it. Can you blame them? What would you have done in their position?

Naw, if shit hits the fan, I'm siding with the Faceless. They are cool. And now that they have their cube back they are even cooler.

But speaking of mutants, I feel I should revise my jab at the Codex. I don't mind if someone from there unravels every single mystery of the game, as long as he does it in a clean way. I'd much rather learn secrets from someone who found them by playing than getting spoiled by some cocksucker dataminer from Steam or anywhere else who don't know when to keep their mouth shut.

You should stop huffing that infusion man, it's rotting your brain.

There is no mutant.

But the slot for the oddity is there, it can't all be a trick!

I bet Styg made it that way as a thank you to Tygrende for getting all the oddities in a single playthrough.

Where is Tyg anyway? Why am I the one losing my sanity trying to find an oddity, when he is the best oddity specialist there is? Is he in on the joke and laughing together with Styg?

>the mutant is walled off inside tchort's corpse and you can't click on it or have LOS

What if he's been trying to get the oddity all this time? He's probably dead by now.

So, when is Mogeko Castle Gaiden gonna be released

Definitely not. Trust me, I spent a lot of time around Tchort's corpse. If there was a mutant there I'd know about it. Although if I could kick that Mouth inside the mutagen tanks...

How's the original Mogeko Castle?

Oh fuck.

RIP Tyg
You were a true hero and a real role-model to as all. Your memory will always live on, especially *that* argument, (S)Tyg. May your afterlife be free of Zone Transition Failures, and may you return, like Biocorp always rises again.

It was pretty fun for me, there's not much action and it has no combat though.

They'll probably make their own general and then come here when it inevitably dies on its own

/indie/ - hospital for dying generals

More like /indie/ - Where generals go to die

Best girl.

It's like the ghetto. You gotta start somewhere, but as soon as you're making cash money you're outta there.

rip dog ;w;

It's nice to hope for what other developers have to offer without being so restricted by budgets, money goals and big names behind them. You know they are in this because they have an idea and they like it, even if it's not very well executed because of time, experience or others.

Where are the pimps and hookers?

Anybody here plays MUGEN?

youtube.com/watch?v=p_yN80oYymI

Dead. They're all dead. Like all of us.

The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point

I released my finger from the trigger

And then it was /indie/

Does Max Payne feel max pain?

So what combat shouts will timefucker enemies yell? I expect lots of terrible puns.

>Oh no, I dreamed of this. We both die in the end.

>The One has come! Help!

>Déjà vu?
>I'll wear your moron face as a party mask.
>I see you have taken nothing from my lessons.
>My stress... Can't shoot!

Oh you cheeky bre.
>Don't try to understand, just execute orders!!!

>The free drones have been interfering in our affairs too often recently. It'd be a shame if D5 mutagen accidentally leaked in their base.

>despite wearing a mask and having no facial expressions to speak of, you get the impression Six is frustrated with you

>some cocksucker dataminer from Steam or anywhere else who don't know when to keep their mouth shut.
I know the feeling. Most dataminers are smart folk and even help us find bugs that would've gone unnoticed for a long time otherwise.

But unfortunately few are dense motherfuckers who just don't know when to keep their mouths shut. They don't even get the hint when Styg lashes out. Aggravating. Oh well, they should know what's coming.

The apocalypse?

Nah, I was referring to this and the people involved.

Shhh, don't let anyone outside of Biocorp know.

Well shit. But it's probably for the best.

>tfw cant progress main story due to lack of skills and have to wander around not knowing where to go
They should make primaguides for indie games

So he really is doing it, huh. Was that post a warning that they ignored, or did he already decide to encrypt everything when he posted that?

Can't say I mind it. Reading that shit seriously pissed me off. The downside to this is that moddability just became even more nonexistent.

That's why wikis exist, I guess. Is GameFAQs still a thing?

I'm not saying he's immediately going to encrypt everything. But he isn't above trolling dataminers if they don't get the hint. I really don't want modding to become unnecessarily complicated.

It's a shame Flash decided to do his proofreading this way. Had he coordinated his efforts with the devs, all the fixes would already be in the base game and he wouldn't have to waste time maintaining his buggy mod. Posting all the dialogs as plain text was especially bad move, because of course some dumbfuck decided to look at them and start spoiling shit publicly.

Hey, for all we know Biocorp had nothing to do with the apocalypse, and the only reason the human race even exists is because they made their shelter.

For all we know biocorp would eventually have brought about the kind of apocalyplse that forgoes making the surface inhospitable in favor of killing everyone.

What if Godmen caused the apocalypse

Nah, the earth is intact.

Let's not blame it on one party. An intergalactic war always has at least two participants.

Redpill me on Underrail, I wanna knoe if it's worth it.

It is worth it.

Anything else I can help you with?

If you're the kind of person who thinks western RPGs went to shit after the late 90s, Underrail is the game you have been waiting for.

What kind of rpgs do you enjoy playing? Underrail is not for everyone, but that being said, I think it's worth giving a shot unless you are absolutely certain it isn't for you. You might be surprised you like this kind of gameplay when it's done well.

You know, normally I'd recommend pirating the game if you have doubts, but the experimental version is pretty good and you'd be missing out if you played the last stable which I suspect is the freshest version to have a torrent.

Has anyone played LISA the Pointless? The creator of LISA said on twitter it was a really impressive fan game.

Do you enjoy being stonewalled by everyone who knows something?
Do you like trudging between merchants for hours because they have not enough money for your crafting spree?
Do you enjoy pixel hunting to fish?
Would you like getting lost in the caves because you weren't high level enough to finish exploring the last time and now you're lost?

I want to kill Hadrian Tanner.

I wonder if I'll be able to switch to the experimental version with the latest stable cracked gog version, most likely not, but I'm not buying the game.

Why? He is a nice guy and it's only thanks to him that SGS became the station it is today.

>cracked gog version
But there's nothing to crack, no drm in either gog or steam version.

I have honestly no idea. I'm not even sure how the patch is distributed on GOG, since right now it's only available through Galaxy.

Mmmh

No chance then

Oh well

You don't use Galaxy, or is it tied to user accounts? Never used it, so I don't know.

Any /indie/ games that you're looking forward to?

As far as I know, you can download updates from the gog website, but only if your account has the game.

Well, the current experimental branch will be moved to stable soon.

But the game is still under active development and will stay so for a long time. Pirates will never have the latest versions. Are you so poor that you can't afford it?

Yeah, you need to log in with your gog account. It's probably possible to add pirated standalone gog game installs to galaxy but obviously you can't update them.

Usually yes, although I remember some folks mentioning that Galaxy scans for GOG games and automatically adds them, and maybe even updates. This might have been some early flaw of though, or complete bullshit.

But either way this probably wouldn't work, because the experimental version is not a normal patch, you have to opt in through Galaxy to have it.

Make sure you have a GOG account, prepare a pen and a paper, and check back in 10-15 minutes.

Yeah

Last game I bought was MGSV when it came out and it was the first game I bought in about 3-4 years

Oh

Ok

Sorry for the delay, here we go.

This here is the GOG gift code. Construct it from these four sequences:

1, VK DB AE LP 5A -42 -LY
2, X5 BB C1 D6 3F -54 -LP
3, 42 AE 65 D8 B1 -D6 -C1
4, 5A C1 BB D8 54 -X5 -VK -ZD -B1

These are already in order, so you don't have to shift these four around. However they all contain several doublets you will need to remove to get the code.

Here are the rules:
1, the gift code contains only positive doublets.
2, a negative doublet will remove its positive counterpart from the sequence IF the negative comes at a later position. So for example a negative doublet from 3 can remove a positive from 1 and 2, but not 4.
3, the same positive doublet can't appear twice in the gift code, so only the first instance of it will be kept.

You. I like you. I see what you did there.

Well there's no way I'm gonna be able to solve that, I give up already.

Come on, this isn't really much of a puzzle. Just cross out a few of those things by following some really simple rules. You can do it, user.

Yeah, no, no way, I'm really dumb, sorry.

The pills would ease the Payne

Ok, I actually did it, I thought it would be much harder

Thanks a lot Kh (not posting fullname because you mighy not want to), it's the first time someone gifted me a game, aside from a 0.50 stesm gsme from one of my friends

Well, someone did redeem it.

I don't know if it was you or someone else, but congratulations to the winner. Enjoy the game.

Nice job, user. See, you really could do it. Told ya. Don't forget to opt in to the experimental branch in Galaxy and have fun.

I will, thanks again

Hold it right there, /indie/. You do not have a valid permission to die.

Please file your paperwork properly and obtain a death permit before attempting to die. Dying without the proper bureaucratic procedure is punishable by death.

But whrere does /indie/ go to die?
Why are we so dead in the first place?

I believe in CLASSIC GAME!

I really want to know why those white angel bugs appear and why are they so annoying. if you use HERESY they appear. makes some sense. but if you kill non-peaceful ghosts or tuskers, they appear.
it's truly a mystery

I picked up LISA again after not playing for a few weeks

made 30 minutes of progress and then i fell off a cliff
