Ford: Quality is Job 1

The Ford Ranger is the very best compact truck ever made, ever.

Know how I know?

>How many 80's and 90's Toyota's do you still see driving around?
Honestly, not a lot.

>How many 80's and 90's Datsun/Nissan's do you see driving around?
Even fewer than Toyotas.

>How many 80's and 90's S-10's do you see driving around?
Like none.

>How many 80's and 90's Rangers do you see driving around?
You can't get away from them. They are everywhere.

I've wanted a 90s ranger ever since I was 5

>what is the chicken tax

Rangers are shit

Pic related, my old Ranger

>implying the 94-98's weren't Ford Exploder tier in terms of reliability
>implying Mitsubishi and Isuzu didn't make the superior compact

I see just as many s10s driving around as I see rangers.
The reason you see so many rangers is that they were a dime a dozen. Companies would buy fleets of the 2.3l ,manual, for cheap and sell them off once they reached 80k. The only reason you see more of them than anything else back then is due to lack of them rusting away.

... but I see all of those trucks driving around all the time? About as common as their larger counterparts.

Is that an ex-forestry jeep?

ur shit

>rusting away
Exactly my point. Toyotas and Nissans have all rusted away because of the shit-tier steel they were put together with.

When you make a vehicle that biodegrades even in the desert, that's the opposite of quality.

Ranger's core supports rot away faster than any other vehicle I've ever seen.

Yes

The F series are still common as all hell too.

>Ranger core support
>Toyota entire vehicle

So what's your point?

THIS

>completely ignoring all the rangers MANY faults
Yeah great truck

>How many 80's and 90's Toyota's do you still see driving around? Honestly, not a lot.

I guess your gardeners drive Fords instead

I live in the Northeast and I see more S10s than I do Rangers or B-series.

I want a dakota with the magnum v8

fuckin' a, my dude

I grew up with one of these. The back seat was shit for my wee lad self but damn did that truck haul ass.

chicken tax ruined them

>rust which renders the vehicle unsafe to drive is somehow better than body rust

>body rust

thats a funny way to spell frame rust

I second this, my first vehicle was a clapped out Dakota, now I want a v8 stick one

Remember when ford refused to recall the insane frame rust issue on the ranger?

that dark purple is sexy

The reason yo don't see 80's and 90's Toyota's anymore is because all the moab bros rolled them off a cliff and shit.

It was a fucking nightmare but I loved it, I almost died at least 10 times owning it. Brings me back to being 16.
>Windshield wiper arm fell off because the knobs were worn down
>fuck it
>metal screw it on forever
things probably a tin can now

>How many 80's and 90's Toyota's do you still see driving around?
That's the only Toyota I see driving around

>How many 80's and 90's Datsun/Nissan's do you see driving around?
Again, those are the only Nissan's I see driving around

>How many 80's and 90's S-10's do you see driving around?
At least 3-5 unique ones a day

>How many 80's and 90's Rangers do you see driving around?
Zero. I see plenty of them in the junk yard, but the as far as 80's and 90's rangers? Nope. I only ever see the 2003+ ones that just look old as shit because Ford never updates body style

All the fords rusted away

>How many 80's and 90's Toyota's do you still see driving around?
an absolute shit ton

>How many 80's and 90's Datsun/Nissan's do you see driving around?
A lot.

>How many 80's and 90's S-10's do you see driving around?
Very few.

>How many 80's and 90's Rangers do you see driving around?
a lot.

just because you live in the midwest where nobody bought imports until the 90s at the earliest doesnt mean they are shit. Here in the southwest old toyotas are by far the most popular mini truck. every fucking mexican in the southwest owns one.

>tfw live in canada

Last time I saw a nissan older then 2005 was like 3 years ago

Never seen an toyota truck older then 2002ish

Seen like 5 s10s in the past year

Meanwhile I see tons of rangers, granted only newer 2006+ ones

>mexican
>toyota
>not nissan

the D21 is the quintessential beaner mobile.

>666
trips of truth

The 20 year old truck club around here is 50% Toyotas %25 nissans and %25 Mazda's for some reason

aren't those Mazdas just ranger clones?

After 1993 yeah

The real Mazda pickups were GOAT

Your opinion is shit

I have owned 2 ford rangers and a chevy s10 zr2

I see more s10s than rangers, but i see LOTS of both

(Rural and trades environments)

Most of them are Frankenstein vehicles but the ease of maintenance and plenty of swappable engines make them great trucks for the mechanically inclined

Ranger master race reporting in

Nothing rusts like a Ford, that's for sure

Rangers are shit.
It seems like they had really poor quality control.
Like some people say they never have issues. Others say they have nothing but issues.
Im inclined to believe the people who had issues.
Every ranger ive driven has had an issue going into 1st gear. Half the electronics dont work. And RUST RUST RUST.
Not to mention NO power, even with the 4.0.
Shit steering feel, shit brake feel, shit trans feel.
Its all mushy and gross.

>muh fleet truck doesn't feel like a race car

stay triggered all trucks from that era drive like shit

I don't know about you op, but I prefer my 200k tacoma than your Mazda truck tyvm

Not toyotas or pre-ford mazdas. They feel great.
S10s and ranger drive like ass

My ranger's doing great with 155k miles. Literally everything works, idk what you're talking about with electronics failing because there are hardly any. I have the 4.0 and yeah it's slow but it'll do 80 on the highway no problem which is all I need.

Looks like ass though

Sorry damn near every single landscaper truck in my city is a pre-tacoma Toyota Pickup, or a Tacoma.

They go for absurb amounts of money. The 3.0slow actually isnt reliable, and require clutch change outs far more often, and slave/ master cylinders go frequently too.

The Taco is king. The Ford is not. Sorry, I am a Ford fan, but my dad and two brother's all had Rangers at one point or another, and got rid of them for less than $1,500 each.

Toyotas were the most A E S T H E T I C compact trucks in the 80s and 90s. God-tier with a lift kit.

holy shit could you be any more wrong

Looks melted.

i got a 93 dakota sport with a factory installed light bar and kc lights my first real love i'll have to see if my phone has a pic of it

I see more tacos desu
rangers are second
than nissans
followed by s10s

>Believing the toyota meme
I have a toyota you might be interested in.
orangecounty.craigslist.org/pts/5946814948.html

Please go back to your thread.

>sore because he fell for the meme
Hoo boy

Mine was a 95. Bought her with 90000 miles. The mechanical aspects of the truck were pretty solid (had a blown brake line and a few random weird things), but the electrical issues sucked. There were a few occasions where all the electronic things in the truck simply shut off for no reason. Also the windshield wipers didn't like to work when it was damp out at all. That being said, she was my first vehicle, and I do miss her a lot sometimes.

Not sure I fell for a meme, but you just shit posting from another thread Is pretty pathetic.

>People can't browse multiple threads

No way, my friends sold his Land Cruiser so he could buy a house, believe it or not.

found it

Good come back. Lel btfo

Probably because rangers were built super cheap and you got what you paid for. However as a ford fag, if there is any valid complaint against fomoco it's how shitty their manual transmissions have been in the 80s and 90s

beauty

I'm bigger than you
>I'm bigger than you
I'm bigger than you
>I'm bigger than you
I'm bigger than you
>I'm bigger than you

So you drive a bigger pile of shit.
Cool

My 94 is still going strong. I did have to replace the clutch (slave cylinder took a shit) about 5k miles ago. That's by far the biggest thing that's gone wrong.

What are you even trying to say

You're a fucking nigger
>You're a fucking nigger
You're a fucking nigger
>You're a fucking nigger
You're a fucking nigger
>You're a fucking nigger

>How many 80's and 90's Rangers do you see driving around?
>You can't get away from them. They are everywhere.

Holy crap you're right! There are two in my driveway alone!

for all the shit Toyota gets for rusty frames, at least they were replacing entire frames on 00-05's Tundras/Tacomas completely free of charge/hassle

That doesn't look anything like "insane frame rust" it looks like "time to replace a spring shackle"
($21 from Rockauto)

That not even close to Taco Swiss Cheese

Companies make weld on kits to patch the cracks in ford frames because of the swiss cheese.
Ford ignores them.
Dont open your mouth unless you know what youre talking about little boy

Had a 03 ranger , still running at over 250k miles

>>How many 80's and 90's S-10's do you see driving around?
>Like none.

that's the only one I can say is true

>How many 80's and 90's Toyota's do you still see driving around?
>Honestly, not a lot.
I see more of those than anything else. Where the fuck are you living to not see any OP? Detroit or some shit?

I think rangers and toyotas are tied for how many I see. I see hardly any older nissans and s10s around.

Here is my 4x4 1995 ranger with a winch photoshop I did just now.

Needless to say, it left me stranded in the middle of a highway a couple days ago.

Got the clutch/slave replaced and getting her back tomorrow

...

Just hit 100K

I need a ranger in my life

>I haven't only owned the truck for about 8,000 miles.

I can pretty much promise you that it's on it's 4th clutch and will be ready for another one in about 2,000 miles.

>Photoshop

It's not dead on the side of the road so it's obviously a shop. No need to tell us.

Are you retarded or?

hey friendo
Taynger owner here but pls stop this Ranger Mustard Race thing. We're above average at best...

come to /ORG/ senpai

>Here is my 4x4 1995 ranger with a winch photoshop I did just now.
>Here is my 4x4 1995 ranger with a winch photoshop
>4x4 1995 ranger with a winch photoshop
>ranger with a winch photoshop
>winch photoshop
>photoshop

I find it funny that you can't even read yet you feel the need to call someone else retarded, kid.

im still rolling in my 1990 ford ranger. fun little truck.

>I just bought a 1990 ford ranger a week ago

we don't have a lot of 80s and 90s Toyota trucks because of kikey business, not because they are bad

Ford Rangers and Mazda B-Series Trucks have terrible frame rust issues.

>implying toyota wasn't tip top in superiority

this

the only reason people associate only Toyotas with rusty frames is because they actually did solve the problems with the 00-04's Tundras and Tacomas

meanwhile Ferd said 'lol sry enjoy your rust bucket'

I had a 1992 Ranger XLT. Too bad it's gone now.

I always wanted a Marty McFly truck, holy shit.

They make those kits for many trucks/jeeps.
Nothing unique to the Ranger.

Actually purchased at 80k. But nice try.

>I haven't only owned the truck for about 8,000 miles.
>I haven't only owned the truck for about 8,000
>I haven't only owned the truck
>I haven't
>haven't

Learn to read. Oh, wait, you drive a ford, that's right.
