Why is it that damn near no one drives a manual in Burgerland?

Literally none of my friends or family drive a manual other than my car friends.

Im in america.
I dont know anyone who doesnt drive manual.
Even my grandma does.

Because manual is for intellectuals and good drivers.
USA has neither.

I actually know a ton of people who CAN drive stick as well, they just either got a nicer car and couldn't get stick or just choose not to

as a britfag i asked a burgerman friend and he told me auto is better in cities simply because of pisspoor traffic management requiring a buttload of clutching for half the journey

my commute is simple enough that i'm fine with a manual, but if i ever get a job in or near london or bristol i'll buy an auto afap

Boomers and automatics being sold as a luxury item, when in reality its always been a headache.

My parents and my aunts & uncles can all driver stick but most don't anymore because "it's pointless". Almost every millennial has had a manual car as a shitbox at one point. My cousins will probably never drive a standard.
