I was talking about HiRez in general. You're the one missing the point. But considering you started off sperging about entitled liberals you never were going to get it in the first place.
Locking the only good content they release behind a chest system is classic HiRez. No one should really have a problem with that, it's expected. It's putting common tier content in the same chest system to pad out loot so people keep buying crystals in hopes of getting the only good content they put out that's the issue. And that's without getting into the whole talent system they're planning on revamping the game with.
The issue was never that companies weren't greedy, it's that HiRez is greedy & stupid. They shoot themselves in the foot trying to get money which leads to them ruining their chances at getting anymore. Just look at Tribes. They ruined the absolute mess out of that. And again in Paladins, with the upcoming stat/talent system.

There are, but a picture of a game where characters cost more than minimum wage is not a great example.

People will NEVER forget Tribes, will they? Sure, they made mistakes, but it doesn't mean you have to fucking go to the same argument over and over.
As far as I know, HiRez only made 4 games. One of which failed to make any money and they closed it, another became a failer in time.
The other two are Smite and Paladins. Smite still being pretty damn strong and Paladins not showing that much of a weakness.
That's not to say you shouldn't criticise them and be more vocal, but going back to Tribes every damn time is stupid.
