Just tried Mercury a couple of times and he literally sucks dick compared to Arachne in joust. You can't even get close to anybody without dying. You've got to play a lot better than you ever would Arachne to do well and even then it's nothing you couldn't do better with him over Arachne.

Maybe its because he's a late game hyper carry and Arachne has an amazing early game.

jungle starting first wave with mid is getting good results but past that you can vary heavily in camp clear based on team comp.

Other gods output the same damage as him with basics or better and his only ocmppetting factor is his ult which .

Kali is shit straight up she outputs good damage but that's it. She offers nothing else and her hp restore can be shat on with anti-heal to remove the one factor she had going for her which is being able to commit to more risky dives.

Arachne is just as good as he is late game. Maybe just slightly and I do mean slightly less good but not enough to justify ever picking him over her.

No she's not. She can't crit people late game for 1K at a DISTANCE.
Auto attacks don't fall off, so Arachne does not fall off, but the impact of her 3 and 1 early game isn't the same as it is late game.

Arachne sucks during teamfights (assuming you've played against people with brains) because she has ZERO control or team presence, putting your team at a constant 4v5. She's pretty much the He Bo of assassins, once you know how to play around them, their garbage.

The worst thing in smite is when teammates are buying items forever in base. It's the worst.

like I said, you need to catch people off guard in order to actually be relevant or you need to depend on your frontliners to win the teamfight for you. In a 5v5 situation where each team has gods suited for a fight, Arachne falls short because she doesn't contribute to the fight. She's only good picking off squishies that wander. Pubstomp as much as you want with Arachne, she's useless on a competitive perspective.

As a geb I was the same level as the Ymir I was playing against except I couldn't do any damage to him but he was able to take me out in maybe three hits and was building all tank on top of that. Why the fuck would anybody play geb over Ymir?

Why would anybody play any other god other than Ymir. He has the most base health a slow and a stun and can build tanky as all fuck and still take out people like nothing because he does so much damage out of nowhere.

I havent set builds because im afraid of needing to deviate to fit a situation

There's no point in jungling in the late game so why would you pick someone useless during those stages? Must feel nice playing against silvertards who can't correctly contest a Gold Fury, let alone play around Arachne.

Fafnir does all of that better than Ymir having mobility. 3 stuns, 2 slows, a disarm and 2 jumps to be exact.
