The increased speed, shield strength, and jump height are obvi gameplay mechanics, but the warhead being faster is something to be attributed to better propellant.

Theoretically any person can free themselvws of their bias by exposing themselves to games from before their time/on consoles they "missed out on" to broaden their understanding of what makes a good game and not just like game X because they played it when they were 8, but most gamers don't do this. Most gamers are lazy.

Yeah, I'm 19 and I've been playing games since I was a little kid, I've played a bunch of NES, Super NES, Master System (only a little), Genesis, N64, PS1, Gameboy, old PC games, and I've even emulated a bit of Atari and ZX Spectrum, all of which came out before I was born.

Then you have a good pallate built up for what makes a good game, but most kids won't do this.

My first consoles were gbc and psx, both given by my older cousin, also I had the luck to have a computer back then, I just couldn't get all the games I wanted because my parents didn't spoil me buying everything I wanted as a kid.
