Sedan models of hatchbacks

Why are sedan models of hatchbacks such a fucking meme Veeky Forums? The hatchbacks can:
>Hold more
>Take up the same space as the sedan version
>Look nicer
>Seat same amount of passengers
>Have rear windshield wiper
>Can see out of better
>Typically are only a few hundred dollars more.
Pic related, it's my Ford focus hauling a mattress, while we had trouble getting an old office chair in my aunt's full size caddy

How small is your bed so it can fit in a focus ?

Twin XL

Actually hatchbacks usually occupy even less space as their correspondent sedans. In case of the Focus the wagon is as long as the sedan.

Sedans really are a meme bodystyle reserved for premium cars because of the noise insulation and aesthetics, but normies think it'll make their shitbox Civics look more prestigious as well.

Exactly. The only downside I can see is that the hatchbacks would generate a bit greater low pressure area behind them, reducing gas mileage albeit miniscule

Americans love sedans for some reason

Hatchback in america = poor

That must've been busting out of your windshield

Sedans are gross. Straight up grandma cars.

Rear wipers are a fix for a symptom of hatchback/wagon design. Sedan rear windows just don't get dirty because of the way the air flows over the car. Hatches and wagons create a low pressure area behind them that sucks all the dirt and shit you kick up right back onto your car, and rear window. It happens to sedans too but to a lesser extent and the rear window is farther from the bumper so it doesn't get hit. My sedan never needs the rear window cleaned unless it's snowing. My hatch and the wagon I used to own were ALWAYS dirty on the back and I had to use the wiper even in nice weather.

So you buy the worse vehicle so that you don't have to use the rear wiper lever?

I'm just saying OP listed rear wiper as some kind of positive point, and it's not. It's a requirement because of shit aerodynamics. If they could design a hatch to not require a wiper then I'd be impressed.

Dont know why. Hatchbacks usually cost $2000 more that the sedan for no fucking reason.
Most of the time your going to need a truck to do any moving of things and you can rent the truck.

Nope, fit right over my shoulder

> duh-duh-damage cuh-cuh-control
All cars have rear wipers unless you're a poorfag driving a fiesta saloon.

Sedans are better at accommodating passengers.

>What is headroom?

And what exactly makes you come to that conclusion? I won't google every single car model on sale but I used the Ford Focus representatively and its rear legroom and shoulder room are identical across all bodystyles and its rear headroom is the best in the wagon, the sedan and hatch are identical in this regard.

god you fatass, lose some weight. No wonder you're on Veeky Forums

So are you moving into or out of your mom's basement OP?

The Ford Fiesta has the more cargo volume in the sedan variant than the hatchback.

Luggage capacity of the sedan: 12.8 cu ft
Cap. of hatch behind 2nd row: 14.9 cu ft
Cap. of hatch behind 1st row: 25.4 cu ft

Lol we all are on Veeky Forums

I'm actually moving from the third floor into the basement

Dyrus? is that you?

WRX wagons were always about $500 cheaper than the sedans. The wagons are also the superior machine since the marginal handling gains in the sedan are negated by the fact that you'll actually use the wagon to 70% or more of its abilities most of the time when you drive it.

It's literally like this for me

>day 1 - hit twisty roads and have fun
>day 2 - thrift store finds; strap table to roof rails and recliner in back w/seats laid down
>day 3 - bring home Christmas Tree strapped to roof rails
>day 4 - autocross, racing tires and tools in the back
>day 5 - go camping with friends, rainy as fuck so camp out in my wagon
> day 6 - golfing with me and 2 friends, no lack of room for people or clubs
> day 7 - want to bike trails with QT gf, load bikes on roof racks and go without hassle

Show me a sedan that is as useful or flexible.

I have always loved wagons, but no part of that week will ever come true for the average person who posts here

The fact is that 90% of people, even enthusiasts, won't notice a slight handling improvement in their 250Hp Wrx. Most people will notice the extra cargo capacity and flexibility offered by the wagon bodystyle, and most people will actually use it unlike the extra .01G they'd get understeering at the limit in the sedan.

That, and

>biking with GF
>friends
>friends

Normies would do this, but not in a decade old Impreza wagon

Except normies literally do this. Try living up in Montana where every other car is a Subaru, and about half of those are wagon Imprezas. Sedan Subarus are so rare up here it's not worth looking for one.

Lies and slander. Sometimes I do wish mine was a wagon.

so many wagons so little time

hell i almost bought one except it was clearly in an accident because it wouldnt drive straight the interior was torn the fuck up and he wouldnt take less than 7800$

it was a fucking outback sport 04 ffs

i literally told him to go fuck himself and then proceeded to be retarded and buy a chevy sanic sedan for 6800$

to stay in the spirit of this thread though the chevy sanic hatchback is fucking hideous compared to the sedan

This is why you never take what Veeky Forums says at face value
