Melody is literally impossible. In Gungeon don't pick up keys until you reach the shop, and don't open a chest before killing the boss of a floor. At least not at first anyway. Learn boss patterns well enough that you can beat them without getting hit.

If you want an easy time, find this guy as soon as possible in Gungeon.
Then give him all your Credits until you buy his baseball bat.
Then only open Brown Chests until it drops.

I'd grab the one-heart one, you need as many chances to get good items as possible, it's better to risk everything early on for the chance of getting broken than have a mediocre run that slowly gets chipped to death in the Cathedral.

I believe it is because the shopkeeper will be selling a key if you haven't picked any up that floor, but I don't know anything about the chests other than 1 of the chests is an item, and 1 is a weapon.

the keeper is actually pretty fun in greed mode, functionally he was made for it. the fact that keeper is hidden behind the greed wall, as opposed to being playable in greed mode and unlocked in normal mode via greed mode, is poor design and a desire to make bad ARGS

I like greed mode. I had pretty much no trouble getting the greedier unlocks. What's nice about greed mode is you can pretty much always have a powerful run since you have more options for what items you get. It's not as fun as the regular mode though since it doesn't have any sense of exploration.
