You can either get it with torque or high rpm

Horsepower is work output capabiliry. The only repationship i can see with both us how torque us used in the formula to measure how much work is produced as opposed to using joules.

Torque is rotational force and the torque curve determines the rate of acceleration at various engine RPM. Horsepower on the other hand only determines top speed.
