I used to be you, now I've changed since there's literally a Toyobaru on every street. Kinda did want one but they're heavy for the power they make stock and a stock 15 year old 4door Toyota sedan is literally faster for 70% of the price of a used Toyobaru. For the price of a used Toyobaru here, you could buy a Evo VI.

The W72 was the last good engine in trans ams after 78
79s mostly had 301 Pontiac and 400 Oldsmobile engines in them (The 400 was for autos only) In 80 they ditched most of Pontiac engines all together and put a shitty 305 Chevy in them then from 82 onward they where all Chevy engines.
That generation was ugly, slow, and heavy. DO yourself a favor and dream of an earlier model.

I own a 78 and have been an enthusiast since I was 8
A 70 is hard to find and one in good condition can cost you 40k (in need of restoration) I actually found one yesterday but by the time I called it was already sold.
I wish you luck buddy, but it took me 10 years to find my perfect project car and a 70 is rare. DO NOT LOOK IN THE EAST COST. Trans ams rust easy and working on a rusty one sucks.

A 1970 is on CL in my area right now but 40k is out of my range at the moment.

Never played Gran Turismo that much; I just loved the styling of the Supra.

A w72 Ws6 with no rust for under 3k :) Borg-Warner four-speed trans ams are hard to find for cheap.
