long war 2 is balanced and fair

I've noticed this happens with almost every big van-type vehicle. Usually on the tile right behind the front end.

Dunno whether or not it was in vanilla or if it's MAGNIFICENT DESIGN, though.

With the way reinforcements work in LW2, does it make more sense to sneak to the objective where ever possible, blitz the guarding pod and just defend the position until the evac arrives?

>stuck under avenger bug after every mission
revalidating my game files after every mission sure is fun

Black Hand when?
Primary Flamethrowers when?

0% supply raids are actually really fun

PSSSH.
Nothing Personal Xeno...

Yellow alert.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=848571873&searchtext=

Pretty much yea, except blitzing is something you should do if you equipped a decent enough team to take shit on. If this is one of your solo-duo sneak missions, just sit tight until their eyes wander and get the objective.

Also the moment concealment breaks, throw down evac. Doesn't matter where on the path to the objective you happen to be, throw that sucker out.

YOU'VE GOT NOTHING

[happy tears]

aeiou

Magnificent map generation.
I had to waste 3 turns running around this building since every path past/through had scanners/checkpoints.
Upon reaching the cells with no turns remaining, there was a pod inside which triggered the ones outside who managed to shoot through solid walls killing everyone :^)

CHRYSSY IN THE VENTS

So I have that .rar of the R6 Siege armors and I just now remembered it and I'm gonna use it.
But my question is how exactly do I install this, I've only ever used the Workshop.

...

WE WILL KICK YOUR ASS

Beautiful

Just make a "mods" folder in your xcom2 folder. Extract the files to the folder their, and then just activate it in your mod launcher. Easy as pie

VALKYRIA PORTS FOR OFFICERS WHEN?

Oh well thats hilariously simplistic. Reminds me of current Source modding.
Bethesda should really take notes

I don't understand this meme.
It wont look anything like that.

>second HECU voicepack
>sword a sectoid
>I'M A NATURAL BORN ALIEN KILLER

This is truly the best voicepack.

I don't even need 1:1 HECU Ports, you can model soldiers after the Black Mesa versions pretty easily with vanilla assets and some mods, the only way it could look like them anymore is if it was a direct port.
BUT THERES NO MODS THAT LET ME DO THAT FOR AN HEV SUIT, I JUST WANT A PROPER FREEMAN DAMN IT.
The closest I can get at Tier 1 is mix matching ADVENT gear and EU Armor for Tier 2 but it still doesn't really look like it at all. Theres plenty of high quality models for the HEV Suit out there too.

Here's a comparison between a game render, and an exported model.

This is so much better than that stupid wrist flamethrower

is there any way to reduce advent force strength in a region? I'm trying to liberate one in particular but every mission I'm getting fucked by constant reinforcements and tons of ayys

:^)

Ignore that region for missions and do missions in other regions.
ADVENT should respond by shifting resources to respond where you are currently fighting them.

Set everyone to "hiding" and go do missions in another region.

Hit troop columns if you can find 'em.

Don't let it get that high in the first place. Once the strength is racked up it'll just fuck you over for basically forever.

all I did was piss them off by raping them tactically, it wasn't like I sat on my hands

>boot up X2
>Time to get back into my LW campaign
>Menu screen is the AVENGER Defense even though I haven't had one yet
I'm spooked guys

Downloaded 194 mods for XCOM 2 just now, and I see this Rookie just hanging out. Made me laugh. What do I even call this dude

clothmonster

I like to think the Alien Hunter weapons were, or were based off of, ancient weapons made by some of the alien species before they achieved space travel/were picked up by the Ethereals.

Johnny Jihad

The fern

Kawaaayyyy Edition you say...

Johnny "The Clothmonster Fern Family Man" Jihad

>crossbow
>wheel-lock pistol
>throwing axe

all of this shit exists on earth

Wow I bet you don't even know that aliens built the pyramids.

Now you done it.

What the fuck is this ice cream shop that keeps showing up in my missions and why does it have vaulting not enabled on its block.

No tresspassing allowed.

Do you have any map packs

No. LW2 only. It's showed up in too.
Doesn't let you vault over ANYTHING.

That's because your soldier have a degree of decorum unlike your uncivilized ass.

Nevermind. Seems I can't vault over anything on this map and smoke/flash don't show tiles.

I'm guessing this is just a bugged map; saw someone posting about this yesterday too.

>viper spits acid through 2floors below me onto my men
Yeah. Okay. Sure.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=844147782
Try this? I had the same problem, and I activated this mod on the same map and the problem was gone.

Placebo. LW2 has it enabled by default and it still happens. Though it probably has something to do with 2 apparent maps that are "bugged and we're fixing them in the next patch"

Well, if that code doesn't work, then my experience has to be chalked up to the game being inconsistent, because I, on a Non-LW2 playthrough mind you, played through a mission mostly twice, once without and once with that mod, and it drastically changed the line of sights.
My troops could no longer target guys in a house on floors they were just about directly underneath, with no terrain damage because they weren't even spotted yet.

HOLY SHIT!

>2 man team
>1 specialist, 1 shinobi, both have smgs
>ADVENT strength one
>Enemy readiness normal
>100% infilatrated
>Extremely light
>THREE TURN EVAC
Why? I'm not gonna do it now, but seriously, why is the evac timer so high?

Because the mission site is so far from the avenger, just look at the map.

Time for some ayys to lose control of the situation.

Higher Advent strength? Default is 2, you need 200% to drop it to 1.

Advent strength is at 1 currently.

So I'm looking at the UFOpaedie, and base is three turns, 1-3 squad size knocks off a turn, and 100% infiltration doesn't modify anything. So I should be sitting at 2 turns, in which case I could consider intel boosting to get a higher infiltartion % to knock off a turn getting me down to 1. So yeah, not sure why it's at three, but clearly not worth it now. I'm already iffy on small team missions anyway.

Which .ini file do I need to be in to change the name of classes?

Changing Shinobi to Scout.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Get out of here you disgusting non-weeb.

Which is more fun? Long War 1 or Long War 2?
I haven't touched any of the Long Wars yet, and I want to start a campaign on one of them. LW2 looks like it has the more fun classes with unique abilities, but LW1 looks like it might not have some of the Guerrilla Warfare trap falls that might fuck with a scrub player like me.

>Which is more fun? Long War 1 or Long War 2?
I couldn't give an answer to this yet

lw1
It may have been bullshit at times but atleast the core gameplay didn't discourage combat.
Only a few missions in 2 are combat-centric and the rest heavily punish you for going loud to the point the meta to do most is 1-2soldiers each.

It feels more like a chore at times, especially early game and with the invisible timer counting in the background when you eventually start getting on your feet the game tells you to make a new campaign if you were unlucky. It might just me being really salty about all the fucking bugs i've experience in 2 so far but I felt like 1 was far more stable too.

>not going in with 6 man squads and blowing every one the fuck out
No wonder you aren't having fun. I wouldn't be having fun either if I only ran stealth missions desu.

bump

t. man on rookie.

Why don't you just enjoy veteran like everyone else user? There's nothing stopping you. As far as I can tell, the only thing keeping you from going loud and having fun is yourself.

To be honest, I'm starting to feel like doing that.
I really like the added depth and complexity but the additional layers of rng and aggroing every single enemy on the map five steps out of the skyranger are starting to give me an ulcer.

Veteran with savescumminv then? No handholding, but you can eliminate most of shitty RNG.

im playing on commander and really fucking HATE how bad the game punishes you for wanting to esplode shit. taking a technical or grenadier literally fucks you before you start a mission with the +infil time. the option is there for 10 man squads but i'm like 4 months in and i haven't used one, i haven't even used an 8 man yet. what's the fucking point of even including it in the game when you're pretty much railroaded into using 6 or less 'quiet' classes

>savescumming ever
Lad, I'm speaking of how I didn't get fuckall for "find a lead" missions until it was too late and the grazeband being an annoying piece of shit.

Because loud missions and intel boosts exist?

You put everyone on intel and you get missions with like 6-10 day infiltration timers.

Kill fucker missions are few and far inbetween and spending a months worth of intel just to get a bit of infiltration is pretty wasteful.

More missions you do with an officer and the higher rank they get the less their infiltration time takes; I know it's shitty but the biggest issue with using grenadiers and technicals is waking up the entire map.

All defense missíons are loud, and happen pretty often.

>happen pretty often
>implying
In a year I had, what, 3? 2 supply 1 intel evacuation.
If you're getting them a lot you got quite a few faceless in your ranks, user.
You could argue that the extraction missions are for mass murder but they're easier done with a single shinobi.

How can you tell whether you have a liberation mission?

Not even. My havens are clean, because I put decent officers in there as advisors.

Oh, and three supply raids and two troop collumns.

Mission reward should say something like Liberation in the text on the left box.

Does the upgraded PC bonuses perk in the GTS affect PC's already applied to soldiers

>PLEASE GRENADE US

Time for some rocket man

>bye loot

I mean this is a Moderate Troop Column mission so killing everything as efficiently as possible>loot this time around.

Troop column? Then you're losing the loot AND the corpses.

Since when does explosives destroy corpses? Was it like that in Vanilla?

it's a long war change

I'm pretty sure you didn't get blown up corpses in vanilla either, but then again I might be misremembering things. It's been a while since I played it.

You get corpse in vanilla X2 when you blow them up, it was just the loot risk.

reee
Well as it stands the main Corpse I NEED are the Captain and the Viper for later and they won't die to the grenade even at highest roll. Being Moderate my Shinobi already spotted about 3 other pods to our left anyway (and who knows how many more in other directions) so I don't think we'll need to worry about getting corpses.
