Brainstorm time, Veeky Forumsarros

Brainstorm time, Veeky Forumsarros.

Let's come up with as many ideas for a side business as we can to help each other out.

Maybe anyone gets inspired to "start up".

I'll reply with as much as I can spontaneously come up with.

Well, let's see...

>web/graphic design, if you're a geek
>podcasting or "vodcasting"
>blogging and photography
>amazon reselling
>remote teaching
>uber driving
>app developing
>brew your own beer like hank schrader
>buy used electronics and refurbish->sell
>copywriting if you're good with words
>airbnb slumlord
>personal trainer
>youtube channel for some weird interests
>niche porn for weird fetishes
>translator if you're bilingual
>ghostwriting, possibly papers or diplomas
>computer repair
>music lessons if you're a virtuoso
>sucking cock
>junk removal or cleaning
>voice acting
>do audiobooks if you have a golden voice

>shitposting
>samefagging
>memes

the problem with side hustles is they are good until more people get in on them.

Car repair. Same as computer repair just bigger lego pieces.

Cleaning is a good idea. My Brother works a 12 hour shift job where he only works 3 days a week and spends the rest running a small cleaning business. He cleans a church for $100 a week, and does floor waxing at an office building once every 2 weeks for $300 a month. If he quit or got fired from his job, he could easily grow.

>web/graphic design, if you're a geek
no, you have to deal and compete with all the non-US people, unless you don't mind overcharging the living fuck out of clients while popping out babies

>sucking cock

Ah well, I guess its decided. Was really looking for alternatives, but work is work right?

Not even kidding tho

I've made pretty good money selling on eBay and Mercari so far.

Tried to start a computer repair business but too much competition.

I used to be what they call a "porter" which is a guy who cleans stuff like bathrooms, takes out trash, etc. Basically a better term for a janitor. How could I get started out as a cleaning business without too much start up money?

>samefagging
>I stated in OP "I'll reply with..."

This board is truly left with shittards and idiots. People who try to produce OC and spark productive discussions get attacked by complete morons like you. Disgusting. What happened to Veeky Forums's discussion culture?

I wouldn't reccomend using your real number so get a sideline (google that, it's free) or a google phone number
vistaprint business cards
pass out business cards
start cleaning

do as much work as you can so you can keep your money. Once you start needing help because too much business, start charging more, hire TRUSTWORTHY employees
profit

I live in Cali and there's high demand for this stuff because everyone has a maid or cleaning person. There's a lot of competition and employees are known for stealing clients by undercutting the company they work for.

also you have to make sure no one gets injured under your company because then you're fucked. You could bypass by hiring illegals, paying higher wages and giving them the days they want off etc (happy employees) and maybe they'll think twice about fucking you over

Cell phone repair depending on the local market . Around here it is pretty saturated but if you do good work and have some customer service skill you can do better than most. I have been thinking about it due to low startup cost.

On-site lawn mower maintenance services for people with estates or larger mowers who don't have a trailer and don't want to fuck around waiting for someone to come get it, wait a few days, pay a delivery fee, and wait for it to come back. All while paying the rent of the dealer's service dept.

Simple things like fluid changes, pully replacement, spindle and blade replacement, cleaning the deck, sharpening blades, plugging or replacing tires. All that shit that most people don't want to fuck with, but put off because of scheduling and cost issues. Charge $50 / hour plus 15% markup on parts. Do the service in their driveway.

Here's another: we have pets that can't be left alone in the house for more than 48 hours, yet totally freak out when boarded.

We hire a house pet sitter for $15 / day to drop by, feed/water them, let them out, play with them for a few minutes, and then leave. Total time on site: 20 minutes. It's still cheaper than boarding, and the animals get to chill out in their own house while we're gone.

I'm not sure how you make this work well enough to support a business, but there is a need. She does it part time in the evenings after work and makes about $50 / day according to her.

Buy some dogs, let nature take its course and sell the pups for $600 each

Doesnt even need any maintenance, just keep them in your backyard and give them food occasionally

And here's another: with all the houses using double paned argon filled thermal windows, we know they have a very finite lifespan. When they "blow out" or leak, they fog up and become an eyesore that can seriously reduce the curb appeal of a house. There are millions of houses with these windows that will all eventually fail.

The usual option is to spend many thousands replacing them all with "replacement windows" that never look right and are smaller than the original. With many of the windows the owners don't know that you can pull the external trim, cut out the double paned "internal glazing unit" and replace it. Ours are like that (Jeld-Wens). I called a local glass shop to get an estimate. 2 weeks later some doofus shows up, measures and leaves. Another week later I get an estimate for $375 for a 22x34" window unit because (we need to guys for this...) and a 5 week lead time.

We have a local guy who works out of his truck called "the glass guy". He does on-site work using factory parts. He came out, measured and gave me an immediate cost of $225. A week later he shows up with an original argon-filled Low-E double paned unit from Jeld-Wen in his van. 1 hour later it was replaced as perfect as original.

Again, low overhead, quick service, and on-site repairs. Worth every penny.

That's actually a very good comment, thanks man!

Apparently this thread might turn into something useful after all!

think there is more money from nasty mutts, compared to goats/pigs?

How many hours do you put into that versus how much money do you get out of it?

Unless you own a farm then yeah I dont think many people want goats/pigs as pets. Plus if you get certain dog breeds you can sell them for $2000+ meanwhile goats/pigs cost under $300

Do you just buy cheap shit off of aliexpress and resell it, oor?

>buy used electronics and refurbish->sell
I get free used parts from my IT main job and do this. so easy once you know how to deal with craiglist "people" . I make like $40 an hour doing this. maybe 200 - 400$ a month

>computer repair
this is tough and is in for the long term. However, you could easily make $80K + a year doing this if you truly own it. People are happy to pay $150 an hour if you are perfect at it. I'm talking businesses that call you when there's a network outtage or server issue.

And those free parts happen to fit into your customers' goods? Can you pick the parts you get?

>airbnb slumlord
Damn what a badass title. I gotta get into this gig.

You could start by buildung a trailer park.

I can only think of illegal things
