In scholar can anyone on PC help me with scorpioness najka?

You can get an NPC phantom for that one

It helps if you give helpful information such as what your soul memory is.

youtube.com/watch?v=UKzjw8Nw-0c

literally just summon Tark

>Invade some guy's world
>fallen knight set
>straight sword
>It's gonna be one of /those/ invasions
>smack em a few times and get him down to low health
>every time he rolls away and chugs
>I used two estus flasks throughout the entire duel
>he used at least 6 or 7
>point down in the middle of fighting
>get him down to a sliver of health
>he starts to roll away again
>NOT IN MY HOUSE
>equip dark hand, sprint towards the rolling bastard and smack em
>he finally dies
>point down

Queelaag down, The Longsword+lightning resin was doing actual nice damage to her this time, not that it mattered as one of the phantoms i summoned used a bow and he pretty much sat back killing the boss for me, im glad but i also feel like I cheated.

I want to suck Mommy Rosaria's boobies

>Sir Vilhelm fight comes with a complimentary loli

I like it.

Hey guys, this is my waifu. Please be nice to her.

feeling guilt is part of the game, now go find her blind sister you murderer

Good job, if you walk for a little bit there will be a good item drop waiting for you, kill the spider enemy to get it

Better than Estus soup for sure

...

>encounter guy in library
>fuck his shit up, force him to use 5 estus before I use my first
>he switches weapons
>some cheesy shit
>stunlock up the ass

Such great pvp. They shouldn't allow phantoms to switch weapons so they can't use their faggot shit when they don't want to actually play the game.

>>cheesy
>>stunlock up the ass
>don't want to actually play the game

I'm having trouble understanding the content of this post

Ill be sure to look out for NPCs

I was just thinking of making a Knightess build, how does this look?

mmdks.com/8iuw

Lothric helm + Alva chest best fashion

Na, the Chaos Flame was created *from* the Witch's soul but it wasn't actually her soul: the Bed of Chaos still had that up until the Chosen Undead killed it.

It's probably not an inevitability. The Pus of Man presumably only gets as large as the being's humanity allows it too, so random Hollows only have a (relatively) little Pus, whereas a super human like Gundyr has a fucking big one.

Too bad that under the armor is just a disgusting mass of bone and chunks of flesh being eaten by the massive amounts of humanity she stores as a firekeeper.

Fuck you!

>Sir Vilhelm fight can now be cheesed with phantoms because From wouldn't dare put something even remotely close to an actual challenge in the game
I don't like it

He can also be easily cheesed to fall off a cliff, it's not like it makes much of a difference.

>Barely any Knightess-Gwyndolin porn
What the heck???

That was intensely unfunny

this
it isn't even really cheese, he just has ds2 tier AI

>half of the game is invasionland

fuck you fromsoft

I know even without phantoms there's a billion ways to cheese him, but I was so disappointed when they changed him from an NPC to an invader. It's less about the fact that he *can* be cheesed and more about the fact that From felt obliged to change one of the few obstacles in the game that couldn't be overcome by a phantom gank to one that could.

how would you improve the story of dark souls 2 and 3? Assuming you could only change dialogue and nothing else?

>dark souls 2

the purpose of the throne is made ambiguous, but is now the singular choice to link the fire. Emphasizes that the throne is not how the fire is linked, but a mystery step, where the chosen has nothing left to do but sit and wait.

>dark souls 3

with the unnumerable fire linkings that have taken place, the lord souls themselves have been reduced to ashen embers, including humanity. The world is dying. A single chosen can no longer bring forth enough souls to link the fire, and so came the thrones, in ever-increasing number. Multiple chosen from various lands complete their journeys and take their place on their throne, and once enough come together, the flame can finally be linked. However in this cycle, Not enough chosen undead came forth. Those who took the throne became disillusioned, lost hope, strayed, and hollowed, before their duty could take place. It's your job to collect their ashy souls and delay what is becoming increasingly inevitable.

Stop embering, dumbass.

>Barely any dark souls porn
What the heck???

Hes only difficult because he chugs, id say thats fair.

As stupid as it is for him to be gangbanged by phantoms, it's equally stupid that phantoms just couldn't even interact with him before.

Invaders and hostile NPC encounters should take greatly reduced damage from yellow and white phantoms.

The content is you faggots who suck dick at pvp who have to use shit broken weapons to beat someone who's handing your ass to you should kill themselves.

SMALL HANDS

Don't summon any phantoms. I killed him on my second try, black set GFS, 72.

How much titanite can you get per NG cycle in DS3?
Is it easy to grind for them?

I don't see anything wrong with that, you should always use the most effective weapons to deal with situations that the game gives you, like invading NPC phantoms

You can buy infinite stocks of all types except for slabs after giving most of the ashes to the handmaiden.

a soul can split, esp. when it goes wild. Splitting a soul is probably what causes one to go wild in the first place. Manus' soul going wild and completely obliterating the surrounding area didn't stop him from having a soul, it just caused pieces of his soul to shard out.

How do you get slabs?

So let me get this straight:
Sulyvahn comes from the Painting.
He invented the frost blade spell that Friede puts on her Scythe.
Friede was formerly a master swordswoman who dual-wielded
Sulyvahn comes out of the painting dual-wielding swords
Friede was an evangelist who founded a church dedicated to bringing about an end of fire and to inherit the age beyond
Sulyvahn is an evangelist who subverted a fire-worshiping church into a cult that seeks an end to fire and to inherit the world beyond.

And Aldrich was just Sulyvahn's lackey, who got fed to the point of becoming a monstrous harbinger of the end times at the behest of Suly's whackjob church.

So is the Deep really just some rebranding of the Londor rhetoric? Did Sulyvahn just leave the painting to do Friede's bidding by proxy, following some yet-unrevealed plan relating to those ominous murals adorning Friede's boss room?

You can obtain up to 11 per NG cycle under fully legitimate means. 3 of them are in the DLC.

No you have to understand my autistic complaint: it's not about how difficult Vilhelm actually is, it's about From's pandering to the summoner class.

Yeah but it's not like they've changed Horace or the Farron strays (wait actually are those two exiles NPCs? I feel like I've seen them in a host's world before) or anything.

And Christ yeah I wish white and gold only did half damage against reds or something. It would give blues way more use - although, those shitty reds who refuse to engage unless they've got stage enemies to back them up would take advantage of it like mad.

I'm assuming the deep is the new londo abyss. They found it, peered into it, and it peered back.

Aw c'mon what happened to the fire keeper?

But nothing says the Witch's soul split, and nothing in Artorias of the Abyss says Manus' did either: that didn't happen until after the Chosen Undead killed him (actually, even then I don't think the DaS2 queens are shards of Manus' *soul,* just 'shards of Manus.'

Chaos and Abyss are the purest, uncontrolled forms of Life and Dark. They're (states of) elements, not souls.

>wanna make a PvE character
>no idea what to make it

Is faith any good? Chucking lightning at niggers sounds fun.

Where do all the other good weapons go (like RHH, GS Rapier, etc)? Particularly curious about how people see offhanded xbows and which weapons they go best with (probably rapiers due to fast 1HR1 and single stat scaling on quills).

whoops, forgot image

I mean "go" like "on the chart"

Oh, its that disturbing no lipped negro frampt i always see people posting.

The two exile NPCs count as normal enemies. Summons can hurt them, as can invaders if seeded.

Horace was made specifically to be a pushover. He stops attacking if your health gets low to let you heal, but he does so little damage and makes so little effort to avoid getting hit that you should never have to worry about that.

chaos is literally the witch's soul seeping into the environment, like a life-based nuclear radiation.

Sulyvahn is unassociated with Londor. Sulyvahn was corrupted by the Profaned Flame and probably wants to end the Age of Fire because he sees the whole linking process as clinging to a rotting world - something he's been brought up not to do as a native of the Painted World. Sulyvahn doesn't seem fussy about how he ends the Age of Fire - killing the gods, the Profaned Flame, the Deep, whatever's good as long as it gets the job done. Sulyvahn isn't actually pro-Deep nor is he the originator of the Deep philosophy - that came from Aldrich and McDonnell, who are his lackeys but spent a good amount of time just doing their own thing in the Cathedral.

By the time Elfriede came to the painting she didn't really give a shit about the Age of Dark any more. She just wanted a new home, so it's unlikely that she'd have sent Sulyvahn out into the world as her agent.

Remember that Yuria apparently sees Sulyvahn as just another obstacle, because a Pale Shade can help you kill him. The Sable Church isn't just working towards an Age of Dark, it's working towards the usurpation of fire.

Is feeding him anything a good idea?

In Farron Keep, there is a ladder to the large bridge you used to get into Undead Settlement. Climb this ladder, activate the bonfire and hang out with the dog. After fulfilling your pupper-touching desires, look around the room a bit, and you'll be able to see a corpse hanging out of a ledge. There is an illusion hiding the entrance to that corpse on the other side of the wall. Walk around and hit it, you'll collect the Dream-chaser's ashes, which you can give to the Shrine Handmaiden, who will then sell you Titanite Shards for 800 souls each.

After defeating the first boss of Irithyll Valley, run around outside to the Archers and kept right. You'll eventually follow the sidewalk onto a ledge with the Easterner's Ashes. These unlock Large Titanite Shards at the Shrine Handmaiden.

In the secret level near the end past the last bonfire and a very difficult gauntlet of enemies that are weak to lightning, hang left and you'll run into some very tough lizards. Kill them or knock them off the cliff with a crossbow weapon art. Collect the Dragon-Chaser's ashes to unlock the remaining Titanite Materials.

The Witch created the Chaos Flame with fire sorcery but it is not her actual soul. She still has that even as the Bed of Chaos and you take it. Nothing says the Witch's soul was ever split.

Yeah, it's how you upgrade weapons :)

Lol

WP beats everything that isn't a fast 1H weapon paired with a shield. You might as well treat it as a mechanical hard counter to any non-blocking action. It's hypothetically unbeatable against 2H weapons, though in practice this depends entirely on the WP-user's human error.

Carthus WAS the best non-WP weapon in the game. It lost to WP because everything loses to WP. Unlike WP, Carthus beats shields by doing insane stamina damage on top of being fast as easy to pressure with, and being straight better than any 1H weapon you could pair with a shield.

Other "good" weapons weren't relevant to this paradigm at all. Estoc is just a shittier 1H option than a SS. GS loses hard to WP. RHH loses hard to WP, etc.

huh... the sun in DS3 has some kind of lettering spinning around it

did you not play dark souls 1? it literally says that the witch of izalith tried to recreate the first flame using her soul, and it destroyed her. she went wild, like manus, and her soul proceeded to seep into the world around her, like manus.

ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL

this is some lord of the rings shit right here

i think he left because he had his own ambitions after finding the profaned capital

also to note, he has yorshka imprisoned but I'm not sure what the intentions were, all I know is that he may have been at odds with velka or friede since corvians were raiding traveling wagons in search of yorshka i.e. road of sacrifices

I don't know, havelstock still feels pretty good for me, though it feels like it's really just BKS with training wheels and better backstabs at the cost of being otherwise worse. That youtuber who did the buff testing seems convinced the avelyn is meta, but the fact that he's putting lamo 10 shots* over the arbalest makes me think he's not on the mark.

*because the only advantage the avelyn has is is explosive bolt spray, once those are gon may as well use arbalest

Yes, using her soul, the power it gave her - power over fire and life. Sorcery is magic defined from your soul, it is soul power. The Chaos Flame is not literally her soul. You get her fucking soul in game. I know Bed of Chaos is a chore user but if you go and beat it you will receive the soul of the Witch of Izalith, not a Chaos Flame.

Darkmoons are the God's policeforce.
Sully took down the Gods
Of course he would put their police force in the shitter.

Are you exploring the kiln for DLC stuff?

The trailer gave us shots of both kiln-Archives and a kiln version of the High Wall's banner cliff. It looks like they'll have us start somewhere in that rolled-up ball of kiln-Lothric and travel towards the Ringed City.

There might already be some hints at an entrance or something around there.

Havel's isn't worth the weight over BKS and gets dumpstered by dark builds.

man keeping cuculus alive is actually pretty hard

I dont really care about the whip but I can imagine if I wanted it i'd be getting really stressed out

I wonder what Dreg Heap actually is. The Kiln seems to be its own weird subdimension: is the huge pile of ruins a physical metaphor? Or do the ruins of fallen kingdoms actually fall through the ground and end up there?

not quite at the kiln yet but that's a good idea. going to try on a different character and see if i can find something. assuming any of the dlc stuff is in the game files

The world is collapsing in on itself, both physically and chronologically. The kiln is the final moments, where the end of every kingdom to ever be and end is all together ending as one. It's an ambiguous pile of assorted ruined collected at random from every point in history and mashed together.

Everything is happening in different times, in separate histories, but everything begins with the fire, and so everything also ends with the fire. No matter where and when it was, it shares its last moments with the flame.

The name Dreg here is important since it seems to be tying the dregs that the Aldrich Faithful worship to this whole apocalyptic mythos.

>Ringed City features a giant flaming bat demon

So we're getting Demon Spear, right?

Right?

yeah there isn't much here

pretty much just firelink on the left and the soul of cinder arena is on this map

That's a shame.
The skybox didn't quite match in the trailers, though, so I guess we're getting another warp cue to a separate DLC map.

descending from the roots of the kiln to the dlc area would be pretty cool though if they did it

Yeah one of the boss names translates to "Manus, Lord of the Deep," so assuming that Dreg Heap is the area's actual name then maybe we'll finally get the true answer about what the Deep is. I'm hoping for angel answers too, seeing as there's going to be more Lothric stuff, the whole golden glow of the city, and ehat looks like the intermediary phase between a Hollow tree and pilgrim butterfly.

Wasn't that even one of Aldia's lines?

Do you remember another NPC that just so happened to be close by to that area? Notice how he's also gone now? Put two and two together.

I don't really give a shit about the spear, I'm just glad that Batwing Demons are finally getting some love and actually being all demonic and firey and shit.

I'm also really hoping that the thing about the heavy knight set appearing turns out to be true. I really fucking want it.

I dont trust people who use smileys, his butthole looks a long way down so i dont think ill get anything back.

Why are the "crosses" in crucifixion woods swords of avowal?

no, it's a flat 2d image with 90% opacity pasted to the skybox

Probably wanted to distance them from a regular crucifix so it didn't come across as Christian imagery or some bullshit.
If you want a lore reason then maybe that shape has something to do with the Abyss or Dark, which is why the Undead Legion crucified those afflicted on it and why it's the sword of avowal.

>embered
>mandatory 6 invaders nowhere to be seen

That webm is bullshit

BUT WHY IS IT SLIGHTLY TRANSPARENT
WHY NOT 100% OPACITY
THE LORE IMPLICATIONS ARE GETTING WILD

Are you kidding? I feel like I rarely get invaded even while fingered.

Lady of the Darkling?

More like, LAY'S of the Darkling.

It'll start shaking once you reach a later part of the game (it's a mandatory area, you won't miss it). For now, your hub bonfire is going to be Andre's. Which happens to be close to your next destination. Enjoy the funhouse.
