Doesn't matter, if you own a BMW so you should have money to throw at it until it's fixed.
Brayden Walker
Durr, thanks. Hope Extratorrent is up again so I can catch up on the Phillip Island test.
Ryan Anderson
don't bother, no useful footage.
PI had no live cams other than a pit cam.
Angel Stewart
R65 user seems to get pretty good service access on his boxer.
Burgers in early today?
Nathaniel Smith
It's German so yes
But unlike Ducati it's more reliable.
Blake Phillips
Fucking Aussies. Also why the fuck do they insist on uploading 1080p/50fps? 720 at a high framerate is more than enough, laptop can't display that high of a resolution, processor is too slow so video freezes and the torrent is large as fuck so it literally takes a day to download races.
and how many ducatis have you owned? i mean, its not like you can afford to buy one, fuck, you cant even afford to buy jap scrap.
Nicholas Hughes
Whoa there no need to get butthurt, if you have the money for a spaghetti bike go ahead.
0, and I never will own one because there are cheaper bikes that perform just as well because there is a certain point you are just paying for the name.
I can go buy a Ducatti tomorrow if i wanted to, I do not see the point
Elijah Hill
Not at all. Most parts are easy to get to.
Angel Hernandez
Getting it serviced is expensive, but pre-R1200 are easy to service at home.
Landon Robinson
>because there are cheaper bikes that perform just as well They don't ride near as well though
Christian Sanders
Does anybody know how a Duc rides? I only see them standing in a puddle of oil.
Jacob Sullivan
lmao i guess youre right
Jacob Wilson
Sup, 21 year old europoor and complete bike noob here. Not sure if this is the right place to ask since I usually don't enter these threads but what the hell. So since insurance for young people is fucking retarded for cars that aren't 90hp econoboxes like the one I own I was thinking of getting my bike license and buying one of these, a kawasaki w800. How bad of an idea is this as a first bike? Will i end up killing myself? Cost/maintenance is not a problem if this is involved but I've read these are basically bulletproof.
Brandon Collins
Which country? It is a A2 bike, so should be no problem as a starter bike, just check the reliability and how easy to service it is.
Adam Moore
Belgium, and I read service is really easy. As I said I'm a complete noob so just asking to see if there's stuff I should know before diving in head first.
Elijah Cruz
>Riders just as well Aside from the /soul & passion/ argument italian bikes do ride better than others Cue that one article about a Kawasaki (i think) racer saying how much better the duc was in the corners because it flexed
Asher Walker
I advise you to take lessons and ask those things to your instructor, they normally know that shit.
But if the w800 is reliable and easy to maintain, why not? Although I would advise buying cheap used, as you have a huge risk damaging it.
Connor Watson
Did it flex like spaghetti?
Jose Nguyen
It's fusilli now.
Jackson Perry
To all the sports bike owners... Do you tuck when you ride in the twisties? As in tuck when cornering? I've been trying it lately and it feels fun although not sure if it's the best way.
Dylan Wood
I'm gonna get one, I struggled to find something to upgrade to from my F800R, and looked at every other brand first.
Test rode bikes from victory, Indian, ducati, triumph, Yamaha, mv Augusta, but then rode a R1200R, the wide lazy powerband with a bit more top end than the cruisers is just a good fit for me and how I ride.
Thomas Clark
>BMW >Traditional forks Get the sexy K you swine
Landon Perry
wtf do you mean tuck when cornering? as in leaning like you are supposed to? why is this exclusive to sport bikes?
David Taylor
D-ESA is great
Grayson Hill
He could get an older 1200r with the paralever system
Tyler Perez
Well I mean getting right under the windshield then leaning off the bike as opposed to sitting mostly upright and leaning off the bike. I've been riding a naked for many years and it's just the way I'm used to it.
Juan Nguyen
I guess I should really be asking: If you have a sports bike (naturally leaned forward riding position) how often are you tucking beneath the windshield as you ride.
I hardly see anyone around tucking unless they're trying to go real fast even though it seems it should be more efficient in every way except for wheelies and braking.
Jason Morales
so you are saying you used to lean like pic but now you are actually getting your head down?
Jordan Richardson
oh so you mean just like in general, it is harder to change direction while you have your head/body low
Henry Price
How is the handling and weight? I only ever sat on one standing still and it was a fucking heavy.
Easton Richardson
No, not twisted like that I meant having your torso leaning forward (as in tucked under the shield) compared to sitting upright. Both ways the whole body is leans over the bike looking front/rear on but from the side I'm comparing angle of torso as upright or leaned forward front to back. I am fairly tall and have long arms so maybe it isn't usual to do both positions easily. I never bothered to lean forward more because it isn't a natural position when riding a naked with high bars.
I think it's easier on a sports bike handlebars to steer when tucked and hugging the tank but definitely harder to move to the other side of the bike when changing to lean off the bike into another corner, but then again I am experimenting with my riding style so it might just need practice.
Cameron Diaz
Not him, but I have ridden a R65, R1150R Rockster, R1150GS and a R1200GSA.
They are heavy bikes, but you can throw them around on the road. Very easy to ride. The torque and engine braking will take getting used to.
Lucas Perez
Ayy
Gabriel Roberts
Probably just need to not skip leg day, it takes a lot of core and leg strength to change sides without putting weights on the handlebars
Connor Peterson
I've just bought an SJ4000, probably gonna arrive next week.
Is the mount for the helmet already inside?
Is there anything useful I need to know? I didn't buy other batteries yet. Also what good use can I make of it apart from using it for evidence (just the other day some stupid girl pulled out in front of my from a stop on my right) and filming my shit riding?
Camden Jones
Should come with a mount. 60FPS mode is a meme. Buy backup batteries if you want to film more than around 90 minutes. Use the cyclic recording function. Use the option that auto-splits the videos into 10 minute clips, easier to deal with. >Also what good use can I make of it Make boring webms for us. Hoon more.
Adrian Thompson
>60FPS mode is a meme. I know, they're artificially created by doubling the frames.
What's the alternative to the cyclic function? What if I were riding on a twisty road 2 hours ago and now I'm in the city and wanna film something, won't the touge get overwritten?
If I use the 10 minutes clips option what is the gap between the clips, or is the new recording immediate?
Jose Adams
Shh, don't spoil my anonymity.
Lincoln Watson
Shit only gets overwritten when the card is full. If you don't use the function, you have to change cards anyway if you want to record new stuff so IMO there's no reason not to use it.
There's a negative gap as far as I remember, i.e. the last frame(s) of the old clip are the first frame(s) of the new one.
Gotcha.
Dominic Morris
My problem is coordinating the timing in fast consecutive turns when leaning forward I get thrown off because I end up just leaning mostly upright just from habit. After looking at lots of pictures of racers I suppose leaning forward is the right way and it makes sense considering lowering the mass to the road. Leg day to me is my church mass I think lots of deadlifting is why I find it easy to ride long distance on a sportbike without leaning on the bars a lot and I recommend it to any rider.
I still wonder why I never seen anybody tuck when cruising on the highway, I could almost fall asleep leaning on the tank and wind noise doesn't even exist. I suppose it looks strange when you're not riding fast.
Gavin Hughes
>Guy selling an RC51 put a larger rear sprocket on it for more torque Is that really necessary? 1000cc sport vtwin torque is insane in the first place..
Jaxson Hughes
>Shit only gets overwritten when the card is full How long are we talking? I got the 32GB card for it.
Kayden King
Lol, I do 3rd gear power wheelies on my liter twin, any more torque is just for memes
Michael Sanders
Depends on your settings, I don't remember. Longer than your battery will last, for sure.
Colton Ramirez
If you only ride for fun how often do you really see that bikes top speed? If you aren't sitting on a highway a lot it's nicer to reach a lower top speed quicker than being capable of massive speeds but need more space and time to reach it, at least that's what I value. Just be sure your throttle control is up to scratch...
Liam Reyes
Fair enough, thanks.
I was thinking I could go check out the camping place fro SEM and film it maybe. Problem is if my shit notebook can handle video editing.
Michael Smith
Yeah vtwins already have comparably low top speed though. Adding a larger rear sprocket to an rc51 probably puts it at like 230 kmh top speed and more torque than you can actually utilize.
Anthony Sullivan
>video editing If all you want to do is make boring webms all you need is ffmpeg.
Angel Lewis
You're talking like easy 200+kph wheelies aren't fun. Just start in second to avoid a huge burnout.
Jose Collins
You're talking like it can't already do that
Jason Bennett
yep, keep it nice and as low as possible, if you're upright you really just can't be leaning that far off, I have long arms too but there's a limit, being low and off keeps your arms nice and gently bent which is good, I try and aim to have my arm touching down onto the top of the tank generally.
Josiah Hernandez
Try to kiss the mirrors in the corners
Connor Peterson
> driving to work in my car >Sitting at a red light >rsv4 passes a bunch of cars is the turning lane and does a willie through the intersection fuck I hate sitting in cars in traffic
Camden Walker
>tfw no gf to practice kissing mirrors with
David Collins
I have a R3 and anyone that asks me what beginner sport bike is best, I say o get a Ninja 300.
I like the styling of the R3 but the Ninja is objectively better.
Connor Barnes
Handles really well, confidence inspiring is how I'd describe it. I was taking corners faster without even trying to, it just wanted to go.
Charles Jenkins
I put a knee down occasionally with the style I've been using so far but I will try changing up my positioning and maybe it will become something usual. It just feels a lot different moving from a very upright seated bike to a sportbike and I've been riding that way for a few year I never really bothered getting off the seat or tucking until now but I do like it, I just wasn't too sure how aggressively I should tuck down.
I've heard that before but the thing is I would be leaning more forward than outward to get to the mirrors on this bike it would cross me up, they're pretty useless.
decent opinions dbt thanks
Tyler Smith
Better than sitting on a bike in traffic because you are in a no-filtering country and stuck in a traffic jam in a (fair) high police activity area.
>I wish I was at home like I could be >that poor fuck behind me could have cleared the intersection if I wasn't contributing to congestion >my feet hurt
Jack Russell
I just filter anyways. Even did it right past cops and they don't care. I never lane split but not filtering is pretty silly.
Gabriel Robinson
>buying new for first
Dont
>buying some air cooled retro bike with vertical shaft controlled valves
Dont
Blake Miller
I learned to ride twisties and track with clip ons, to me the bike just feels much more stable and I feel more comfortable in the corners when I'm leaned off a lot.
If you want to practice it just take your favourite twisties for a few laps nice and slow and exaggerate the body position, then when you wanna start going faster again the body position will be natural.
Just remember you move the bum off before you brake and before you turn in, and if you have two right hand corners in a row don't bother returning to the middle.
Justin Hughes
they always look so tiny on those bikes
Gabriel Rodriguez
They are all manlets
Juan Myers
except for best boy
Levi Allen
That's what happens when you're a manlet
Aaron Martinez
Him and Rossi are among the tallest and have to account for extra fuel to lug them around
Kayden Kelly
almost going to stop being a nobike!
these bikes look so good!
Tyler Lewis
looks fuckin retarded
get a gsxr
Aiden Perry
what do you guys think of these bikes?
Blake Thomas
That seat makes my ass nervous
Michael Martinez
i'll be limited to 125cc bikes
Leo Gonzalez
It's fine, the new tires only work for manlets if the track is 1000deg anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if Pedrosa has to run full tanks just to make up for being too light.
Mason Carter
oh, i didn't notice. that's not the regular seat for these bikes
Connor Cooper
...
Logan Gomez
He should wear hip weights or something for weight
Sebastian Evans
what type of bike should i get as my first real bike?
I have ridden scooters before, but im really interested in learning manual bike riding. looking for something both good for in cities and that would be good for longish trips at sub-highway speeds
Jeremiah Morris
So I drove a car for the first time today
I almost fucking crashed
Cars don't have engine braking?
Nathaniel Robinson
what bikes have you ridden?
Logan Wood
Honda CB500F, Yamaha XSR700
why?
Nathaniel Lee
burbotusa
Anthony Stewart
Honda Zip Kymco People 150 Vespa 200 Rally
Asher Bell
...
Jason Parker
okay so you're yet to learn bikes have varying engine braking because you've only ridden twins.
Hunter Allen
They do. You're just shit at driving.
Why is the surname censored, mine is not.
Isaac Campbell
>puts tape on vents because he's a retard >visor fogs up >HURRR DURR HJC A SHIT
Dominic Lopez
Depends on the car and gear
Robert Carter
In the market for a new helmet, budget 200€ or ≤300€. Looking for a carbon fiber shell, DD, sun visor would be a plus. No composite.
What get? (I just found out AGV lower end helmets are made in china)
