Why shouldnt I?

Well Veeky Forums, after a night at the toronto autoshow and looking at various cars under $50k. The Cady Ats is the car that stood out . Followed by the lincoln mkz. Tell me why I shouldnt get the ATS v6 rwd manual...Im very tempted and I need a new car soon.

Slower than a GTR

Yeah I guess that is true.

Because you can't afford the servicing costs alone

Get a Tesla Model S/3/X instead.

Not big on eco cars and i need to be able to drive cross country

Sure I can. What part of it would be expensive?

they're fast, they have a lot of neat features like autopilot, they can go at least 200 miles. there are fast chargers in enough places to enable cross country driving.

Why would I want to sit at a charging station for an hour watching cuck porn on my phone like a typical Tesla cuckold when I could spend 5 minutes filling the tank in my Cadillac and probably get more range out of it?

Driving toronto to miami is going to take 8 hours longer.

everything, because of the cad badge

>autopilot
>neat feature
what are you doing here?

Get a 2009-2014 CTS-V. They're slightly larger than the ATS (smaller than the new CTS), 556hp supercharged V8 and manual is available. You'd get the option of a coupe or wagon too but a manual wagon is most likely out of your price range.

Man isnt it basicly just a chevy with some fancy bullshit. How could that cost more because I dont see it.

It needs to be a new car so I can impress my friends, and make girls think im handsome

I know Veeky Forums must have something bad to say. Cmon lay it on me

If I want to enjoy operating the vehicle, i'll ride my motorcycle.

If i'm stuck in traffic in my commute. I'll let the AI do it.

Sure if you do it yourself it's just a chebby.
Take it elsewhere and cadys are topoftheline machines.

Thanks for the words.

>i "need" a new car
no you don't. stop being a consumption whore you dirty asian.

>Impressing girls with a V6 Cadillac

That's not going to happen

Post 09 GM cars are ridiculously good for the price. We still have to see how well they will hold out at 15 years old.

Get the 2.0t manual instead
Unless you're already used to a bunch of fast cars, it's plenty fast.
If you really did want that much power, you'd get something else for $50k

Um im more worried about the reliablity. O

>and I need a new car soon.
Why?

Lease is almost up on mine shitbox

Since you want a v6 instead of turbo 4 cilynder I have nothing else to say but just go for it. Its a great car

How an American 3.6l can be expensive to maintain. Anyway a used manual CTS/ATS is rare as fuck.

The ATS is a very entry lux good sports sedan, but keep in mind that it is more focused on the sports part of that equation than luxury.

Less room for rear passengers, and overall everything is just rougher - but it channels the BMW 3-series of old better than the new BMW 3-series.

I'd agree with other posters that "upgrading" to the V6 probably isn't worth the cost unless the HID headlamps and other little additions are worth the huge cost and you really, really want an NA engine instead. The Turbo-4 is going to feel plenty fast and it might even feel faster in everyday driving because you're going to feel that turbo shove in the low and midrange - with a V6 you'll have to wind it up. Ofc stock for stock the V6 will probably feel more rewarding at high RPM's - but it doesn't sound like you're the type to keep the motor on boil through the canyons all the time if you're talking about driving through traffic.

If the V6 engine is the thing that really motivates you to pay the extra $6,000 over the 2.0L Luxury trim, consider this as well - once the warranty runs out (or even before, if you don't care and plan on keeping the car for the long haul) you can also tune the 2.0L Turbo to surpass the V6 power levels. Stock power levels are already 276hp/295tq for the 4 cylinder, so it'd probably take like... $1500 worth of intake/exhaust bolt-ons and a $600 pro tune to hit something like 350hp and massive amounts of tq.

Does the Ecotec 4 have more reliability issues than the V6?

ATS is p. classy. In some areas, you don't see to many brand new Cadillac's ever. In a sea of BMW, Merc, and Lexus, they stand out. With that said, if you have people sitting in the backseats, don't get it. The ATS and CTS have terrible rear leg room. But, I'd get it, because it's a Cadillac, which will always be cool to me. The MKZ is a cool looking beast too. It looks very "futuristic" luxury, IMO. If you go MKZ, make sure you get the rad panoramic sunroof for baller status.

>Tell me why I shouldnt get the ATS v6 rwd manual
Because Cadillac doesn't make a manual V6 ATS. If you want a manual ATS, your only options are the 2.0L Turbo or the ATS-V with the 450 HP twin turbo V6.
The N/A V6 is automatic only.

ATS owner here.

Im somewhat satisfied with my purchase. the 2.0t is pretty decent, mine has had a timing rod problem and a cracked oilpan. My CUE screen also started cracking randomly. This was all fixed under warranty though and havent really had any problems since other than a few odd noises. I hear the 3.6 is supposed to be more reliable though

As others have said this is more of a drivers focused car than a luxury car. If you plan on driving other people around often, you should get something else.

If you are looking just for something fast, get the camaro.

The ATS fits the weird niche of being a drivers focused car yet still has the ability to carry around drunk friends if needed. I just bought the base model because im cheap, but regardless I feel that getting a high end model is simply not a good deal. I would personally rather have a merc for that money.

What I really like about this car is that its somewhat rare, and it generally surprises people who count it out as just another caddy for grandpa. I personally like the styling the most in this segment, but thats subjective.

You may want to consider getting a used one, the depreciation curve is like a fucking cliff for the first few years. Also I like the wreath better than the new badge. Either way, make sure you get a warranty.

Did you buy new? As yours looks to be a few years old, (ATS has a revised front end).

Anyhow, I disagree, I think the new logo is better; with how prominent it is; it ads great presence. The new logo kind of looks like Batman's throwing star.

>leasing
kill yourself. just buy a v6 accord for 7k-10k

Yeah I got mine new, about 3 years old now.

Just want you to be aware that these cars lose value fast, and if you want to save some skrill for virtually the same car you can get a 2014 for about half the cost of a new one.

I'd recommend going for the CTS over the ATS if you can afford it used. Ideally you could find a 2014 CTS V-Sport Premium for $30k.

All luxury cars depreciate fast. But if you can purchase a brand new luxury car, you're a boss for at least the first year. Actually, people purchasing brand new Cadilliacs etc are probably not worried about depreciation. Its only those that want something they know they'd otherwise cannot afford. But, good point though.

Come out to the n/o/rcal meets Caddydaddy, we just hardparked there at the Lick Observatory like a week ago

Also, I think it's pretty neat you owned a Cadillac new, just because, you're different, and that counts

My parents are on their second Cadillac, they purchased an XTS when it first came out a few years ago, and in December traded it in for a CT6. I'm not sure which car I liked better, the CT6 is slick, but the XTS has that buttery smooth ride that only the S-Class can beat. They liked both cars, but would probably have gotten a new XTS again if not for the 30+ speaker system in the CT6.

Also, looking at a CTS for myself.
