God damn it, slow it down, i've got a perfect gif in progress

Just a reminder: there's a survey up that you can take to tell the Devs what you think of the current iteration of Trinkets. Just remove the space in the middle of the link.

Lincoln Wood
Has anyone tried cheesing the Swine God fight with an arbalest? If you bring her with speed trinkets and and rallying flair he will never get to attack with anything but wild flailing, which is pitiful.
Kevin Thompson
It's one of the two commonly used strategies against him, the other being occultist spamming weakening curse.
Personally I prefer the Arbalest strategy.
Henry Robinson
I feel like it was the only time in the game I was glad to have an arbalest. I got everyone to level 6 for the achievement but never found a good role for the arbalest...
Dylan Campbell
She works well against the Prophet and Hag too.
Jason Young
The wait is killing me.
Jose Hall
In what way?
Adrian Bennett
>tfw you're still writing out stuff for the survey and you're worried they'll stop paying attention to it by the time you're done. Why did I decide I was gonna write paragraphs for every single unique trinket?
Jaxson Jones
Well the Arbalest can take out the Hag in just few good crits; if she doesn't get thrown into the pot then the fight is basically over.
The Prophet is similar except there's no threat of the Arbalest being taken out of the fight other than being killed. Since he's stuck in the back behind multiple meatshields, a heavy backline damage dealer like the Arbalest is a perfect match.
Eli Gray
Anybody have that bounty hunter doing the cool dude point with sunglasses on? Lost that image a while ago.

I think the ruins are pretty ez.

warrens is the easiest imo

I'm fucking done with this piece of shit dungeon, spoonfeed me the best team compo and strategy to deal with that teleporter faggot cocksucker. Pic related was the third team of heroes that didn't manage to get to the fucking boss. I'm tired of retreing.
Nicholas Young
Best item for finale jester.
Luis Sanchez
Go pure DPS, rush the one mandatory Mammoth Cyst, kill everything before you can be teleported and win without even needing to camp.
Aiden Wood
Take a plague doctor. Dots are common as shit and you can only buy so many bandages and antivenoms. The antibody isn't what you need to hurt, either, you just need to keep hitting the mammoth cyst. The cyst doesn't recover health when you're teleported away.
John Sullivan
This was my party composition. Had to explore the whole area because I didn't know where's the right room.
Kinda low DPS because GR had to kill the teleporting faggot but still wasn't hard.
Actually I wanted to abort the mission after a terrible fight vs cyst and even started to remove trinkets from heroes but then I realized I still can use a camp and remove blight from death door heroes with bandages and so I recovered and finished the mission.
Christopher Lee
I thought my team was already pure dps, but fair enough.
I don't have a jester, so I'll try a team with Vestal + PD + GR + Hellion, thanks lads, I swear to god, this is the worst fucking dungeon in this whole game.
Evan Hill
PD is super good there, he can stun them both and also cure blight.
Dylan Anderson
what's he gunna do?
Chase Jackson
I took Arbalest, Occultist, Leper and Helion, Leper had some sick damage bonuses. Won the mission without having to camp or getting teleported even once. Reached the boss with almost full HP and very little stress.
Anthony Martinez
Thanks user, some of these are indeed pretty great.
Benjamin Nelson
AH fuck me there fixed

Maybe swap Arby for PD or Vestal.
Levi Bennett
Shuffle parties are good because the scramble won't fuck them up too much, you need to have at least some movement available. As with all bosses, marking parties will do the most burst damage to a single target.
Bringing an Occultist is nice because he can fill your healer niche (Junia's Head + Cleansing Crystal to make it more reliable) or go for the massive bonus +Eldritch damage (Eldritch-Killing Incense + Eldritch Slayer's Ring) will let you stab for +80% damage 16% crit as far back as rank three without taking up any of your more traditional damage boosters (e.g.: Dismas's Head / Ancestrals)
PD can blight him pretty reliably even on champion difficulty which is how I win most of my shambler hunts
I've made Shambler work with everything (even the AQ+HWM riposte meme) but I don't know if I have a strong favorite. The #1 absolute easiest way to kill him though is to fight him on apprentice difficulty where it is much much easier. Just run a fuckton of notorch runs with random low levels you get from the stagecoach.
Leo Clark
Is there any reason to hunt Shamblers anymore once you collect all of their trinkets?
Aaron Wright
Fug
Kayden Gray
>or Vestal
Benjamin James
No, there's not even a reason to hunt them after you get the shambler drop you really want.
In fact, there's not even really an incentive to hunt champion bosses since their rewards are lacklustre and it won't help prepare you for the Darkest Dungeon
Dominic Richardson
really makes you think
Dominic Rivera
You need to kill champ bosses for 'driven from this land' too but who cares about cheevos?
Matthew Miller
Ach, damn.
Make it a jester then, so the Abom remains functional for the whole fight.
The Abom is really the essential component: rakes sycophants to death astonishingly easily, and can rage on the shoggoth itself.
Brody Harris
>says there's no reason >gets a reason >"well that reason doesn't matter"
Brayden Morales
I like Arbalest in marking parties. Junia's + Medic Greaves will make those bandages substantial and the buff adds even more vigor to it. Then she can just support with marks and stuff. When she wants to shoot she gets +50% against marked. No other healer gets mark synergy (although Occultist can mark)
Not everyone likes marking parties though.
Isaac Gomez
You can list meaningless reasons for anything. Even if there wasn't an achievement you might say, "There's a reason to kill more Shamblers -- the joy of killing Shamblers", or the challenge, or something to do on a rainy day. If the reason has no value to the person in question, it's no reason at all.
Blake Evans
Real talk: the fact the Blacksmith goes from making decent arms and armor to pieces of legendary quality in like two years' time is pretty impressive.
Noah Harris
what do you mean dawg i need to get all of the achievments otherwise iam not done with the game

What're you talking about m8? Some of those trophy trinkets are awesome.
Matthew Cox
You could map figure 8 very directly with any of the boss narrations. I've long suspected that "in time you will know the tragic extent of my failings" was not just a catchy phrase, but the guiding philosophy for how they structure their narrative. Let me give you an example picked entirely at random from the boss list.
>Simple folk are by their nature loquacious, and the denizens of the hamlet were no exception. It was not long before rumors of my morbid genius and secretive excavations began to fill local legend. In the face of my increasingly egregious flaunting of public taboos, awe turned to ire, and demonstrations were held in the town square.
This is almost a bait and switch. The Ancestor is admitting to some of his failings - being obsessed with 'morbid' pursuits, so you think it's reasonable the town itself turned to banditry in rebellion against him.
>The wild whispers of heresy roused the rabble to violent action. Such was the general air of rebellion that even my generous offer of gold to the local constabulary was rebuffed. To reassert my rule, I sought out unscrupulous men skilled in the application of force. Tight-lipped and terrifying, these mercenaries brought with them a war machine of terrible implication. >Eager to end the tiresome domestic distraction, I instructed my newly formed militia of hardened bandits, brigands and killers to go forth and do their work. Compliance and order were restored, and the noisesome population of the Hamlet was culled to more managable numbers. Whoops, fuck. The ancestor hired bandits to kill the villagers.
Possible additions could be match count inversely related with number of stars. Other than that, pretty good.
Justin Howard
Just made this one, any changes that could be made?
Christian Scott
The more of the ancestor's memories i read the more i feel bad for some of the bosses. Most notably the Prophet, Siren, and Necromancers.
The Prophet was just trying to warn everyone of what the Ancestor was doing, the siren had a crush on the ancestor, and the nrcormancers were only scholars that the Ancestor murdered
Jeremiah Barnes
It's a bit shite, your axes don't make sense and seem to more imply a number of stars as a function of time.
Nathaniel Thompson
why is the bounty hunter so based?
Grayson Jones
yeah i know, i just wanted to make one with that quote and have others help make it better

Threadly reminder that over-confidence is a slow and insidious killer.
Charles Cook
That's what you get for sticking your chest out whenever something attacks you.
Jeremiah Gray
So I know that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer and all, but I've only lost 3 heroes during this entire game. I'm about to start doing Champion dungeons to prepare for the Darkest Dungeon, given that most of my Hamlet is fully upgraded. Is there a reason why people say this game is stupidly hard?
Eli Moore
Bad luck
Not bringing healers
Going on Dark Runs
Jayden White
>I'm about to start doing Champion dungeons
James Turner
Have you checked up any guides or wiki during your playthrough or did you go completely blind. Because if you actually know what you're doing, than no, apart from occasional "fuck you" moment because of RNG the game isn't that hard.
Dominic Robinson
I like it. I don't know what its a reference to, but I like it.
Christian Richardson
I've been listening to a few let's plays, and I read up on the resources posted in the OP. That's pretty much it. Why the fuck would you do either of those things. Although I do admit my luck has been pretty good-- I don't think I've ever had an Occultist heal for 0, and I'm not sure crits are supposed to be as common as they are.
Adrian Cruz
So I was brainstorming an artwork of "Dungeon Keeper" Darkest Dungeon edition, but then I knew I'm not an artist. Thought I share what I did to get an idea for someone else to do it better.
Gavin White
Exactly.
Like the saying goes here in the Darkest Dungeon: "Puff out your chest, prepare to rest. (Forever)"
