>tfw no FIRM autismo driving gf

> Drive
That's not a movie about cars or driving. It's about an autist being an autist.
I wasted an hour of my fucking life watching that shitty movie thanks to you people.

> Blues Brothers
Road trip movie, with music and humour.
> Bullitt
Car chase movie
> Gone in 60 seconds
Original: Bad acting, great car chase.
Remake: Better acting (Nic Cage gurning his way through a role he took for fun), car chase is merely good.
> Ghost Rider
Nic Cage gurning his way through a movie with a lot of bikes in
> Biker Boyz
If you can get past the 'black people coming of age' bit, it's about drag-racing sports bikes.

damn what a nice piece of ass

Can anyone recommend any movies similar to Two Lane Blacktop.

I thought it was such a fantastic movie and I amen't particularly fond of American cars or drag racing.

Drive is awful /tv/ tier shit
The Driver is great Veeky Forums related shit

Taxi Driver

It's really comfy

VANISHING POINT.

Bullit of Steve McQueen is pretty good.

Christine

Pure soft-core porn car kino

How can anyone like this? It was boring. 3 drag races the entire movie, the rest of it is mostly talking.

It was a character study into nihilistic obsession, how two guys so into cars and going fast will do it at the cost of everything around them- How GTO took to the roads with a bit of horsepower to make himself feel better and escape a nasty reality. It's a real no bullshit look into the mind of a car guy we haven't got before or since.

>It was a character study into nihilistic obsession

> Car movie
> About a person
> Not a car
Nah, go fuck yourself, not watching that shit. Car movies are meant to be about the cars. If I want to watch depression, I'll sign up for overtime at work and get paid to.

...

>Car movies are meant to be about the cars.
Agreed, the only car movies I watch are from Pixar

american grafitti

THIS!

Seriously

Being drifters was a common thing in the 60's and 70's. The idea of the movie was interesting because it's supposed to be about 2 drifters that survive by street racing. The insecure GTO driver is entertaining but his character never changes.

According to Wikipedia, the directors original cut of the film was 5 hours long. I'm sure it had more street races and car culture but I'm guessing it was all thrown out for the mushy character development.

>drive
>his car has 3 reverse gears

GOAT

underrated post

it's also funny how GTO bullshitted like a ricer, reminded me of the guy talking about his "vtec mustang" and how vtec means "very tall engine coolant"

lol I hadn't noticed that
this kind of autistic observations is why I come to this place

License to Drive is great

Le Mans is the pinnacle of car films. normies just don't understand.

Death Proof
That's pure kin/o/ right there.

Speaking of great chase movies, Cobra
BTW:
>drove his own car on his movie
>grieved over losing it in the movie
>had it stolen in real life and spent years trying to find it again
>found it and recovered it

Truly our guy

It's been a while since I saw it, but I remember GTO not being insecure so much as just saying/doing whatever made him feel good because his wife left him and raked him over the coals- The car was the only thing he had left.

The Ferrari 512 is so sexy.

>tfw Ferrari will never enter Le Mans again in the foreseeable future
Ferrari should make a new LMP and rebadge it as Alfa or Fiat.

and then Grand Prix (1966) kinda goes with it too.

>Not posting one of the finest example of aussie film making

Rush was really fucking good

How has nobody mentioned Mad Max yet?

why doesn't Australia make great cinematic shitposts like they used to in the 70s and 80s? What destroyed their spirit?

Too obscure.

Tell me about the driver, why does he wear the mask?

...

>Veeky Forums movie thread
>nobody posts Mad Max
I'm disappointed

How is fear and loathing in las vegas a car film?

road trip movie

I just did, faggot.

The filmmaking in Grand Prix holds up phenomenally well, I love all those really low chase shots

i think everyone here wants to be a Kowalski

c'etait un rendezvous
le mans
vanishing point
that eric bana doco where he faps to his falcon
white lightning
cannonball run

i want to make a movie for an upcoming film festival. i really want to make a film involving a car but i have no friends to help me/ nobody to film

GOAT

More trip than road8

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot - Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges go on a messed up road trip that at one point involves a '73 Plymouth Fury III, bunnies, and the guy from Deliverance made piggy squeal.

>Ferrari should make a new LMP and rebadge it as Alfa or Fiat.

Or buy GT-40s and paint them red. Slap on a prancing horse badge and no one will notice.

Drive is the most overrated, incorrectly named film there's ever been. Ryan Gosling is a no-talent ass-clown.

Checked! Everyone I know hates Death Proof but I fucking loved it. It might be the most Tarantino movie of all his movies. The dialog is spot on, the acting was really fucking good, and that car chase was awesome. Plus there's the bonus of the smoking hot chick with the accent. Total accent fetish here

I would kick a baby in the face for that skyline

Convoy

oh fuck i remember coming home really late, turning on tv prepared to fall asleep and this shit was on. Ended up watching the whole thing and loved it.
Cosy feels right there.
