Hi Veeky Forums

Hi Veeky Forums,

I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to get money so I can start a grow and open a dispensary. Being able to produce organic, quality weed to patients or people over 21 is the dream and working a minimum wage job seems to be a terrible way to make money fast.

Is crowdfunding a viable option? Besides offering free weed what kind of rewards would even make sense to pair with this if it is an option?

have you ever grown before?

Yes, although only one personally. My friend and I (who would be doing this together) have been assisting others with their grows over the past two years whenever the opportunity came up but we haven't been able to get the land to start our own due to lack of funds.

DUDE

Gonna add onto this because I'm sure someone would have an idea for how to do this. My second marijuana related plan related to purchasing trim or some form of discounted bud and turning that into hash (wax is illegal to make in California) so that I can distribute it amongst dispensaries within my area/the state. Is it a better idea to keep my product for my own business and sell the hash to people myself or should I put a logo on it and try to get it in as many dispensaries as possible? I like the idea of selling my own product and it highlighting my business but I also like the idea of having what I make in two dozen dispensaries in areas I can't live.

Should I have said that pic isnt related?

>pic isnt related

Someday though. And I'll remind/biz/ of its success.

I cant tell if this is bait or if you're retarded

Probably retarded. Fuck me for only understand the potential in the Marijuana Industry after wasting all the money I had on pointless things like tuition and housing though right?

First teenager to do something stupid that ends up in tragedy, and you'll be crushed under the government's boot heel. Either that or cartel will cuck you. Enjoy it while it lasts.

the permits to do any of that are already bought and paid for by other companies.

If Colorado was any example, you need millions on hand when the law rolls out, and even then most permits are going to go to existing medical operations.

sorry.

In california each private residence can have a seperate building that houses 6 plants (based on country law) and excess from each harvest past half of a pound is supposed to be distributed to dispensaries to be given to other patients. As a medical patients im able to increase the number of plants I have personally, and since collective laws still apply if I were to want to go in excess of 12 plants I could file to become a collective. Oregon is the goal when it comes to growing though, canopy space is alot easier to work with than number of plants.

Excess can count as trim, kief, hash, even wax. It's just the process of making the wax is highly illegal. I can make what I harvest into whatever I want and claim it as excess that needs to be traded for donations through any dispensary looking for vendors

>working a minimum wage job seems to be a terrible way to make money fast.
If you are growing legally then you are still earning minimum wage or less since you will be competing against the big dogs in an already established niche.

The only money in weed is to grow illegally but then you have to worry about gang bangers and cops.

Either way big risk, low reward.

It's not worth it imo.

>the fastest way to get money so I can start a grow and open a dispensary.

Surely you don't even need that much money? On what scale are you thinking?

You'd need: Warehouse, lights, growing medium, pots, water, electricity and seeds. That doesn't sound all that expensive apart from the seeds.

Also permits and misc legal munbo jumbo.

I'll answer you both though I doubt you're still watching this thread. First the scale of the grow would be rather small. No more than what is allowed thanks to prop 64 and my MMJ card so I estimate that I'd only need close to 4000 dollars to complete my first harvest. The soil I would be using is already mending together, its a super soil and I'll be experimenting with no till soils in the future, so that removes most nutrient costs. The 4000 also factors in cost of land.

I've heard the idea that the industry is too filled to get into, I have to disagree. As long as there is a market for good weed and a lower price ill be able to find someone to be, whether it be illegal or legal. The plan, as of now that is, is selling the weed at 1000-1500 a pound for what could easier sell for double the price. Besides already being in contact with around 10 dispensaries, I also know someone who has been moving weed for close to 4 decades that is always looking for better product to sell so the ability to make money after having said weed isnt exactly an issue.

There are also 20 dispensaries (excluding delivery services) in sacramento that are specifically looking for hash vendors. Trim, being able to be bought at 150 a pound depending on who has it, can be turned into around 14 grams of hash. Even if I sold it at 15 dollars a gram, somewhat of a low price for good hash I'd profit $60 off each batch. This isn't factoring in ways to improve yield like adding kief to the batch, distributing to a larger area or the people I know outside of the state that have their own closed rings of buyers.

I'm not looking to become a huge drug dealer, im looking to up the standard for quality weed with underselling product that would usually cost two or three times as much. This money would be used to break into the hemp industry, which can now be grown in California, and I'd then use that as my main source of income.

Also to this, in california there are no permits needed to sell excess weed or product from your grow to a dispensary, you only need to be a member of said collective. Every time you visit a new store you signal contract that gives the dispensary the ability to grow your allotted plants and to sell your excess on your behalf. I have registered with 30 dispensaries across california so far and have already established with my main physician that I will be renewing my recommendation through him. Basically I have the ability to sell whatever I want though dispensaries, I just need a way to make a thousand dollars to get some quality material to make bubble hash out of so I can move it.

To anyone who is thinking about licensing and permits, that begins in 2018 for California, Oregon has a different, better set of rules and it seems like some people are forgetting that marijuana is still illegal in the majority of the states. I don't care how large these dispensaries are, they won't be able to monopolize 50 states worth of people wanting to smoke weed. Once farmers markets are allowed go take cannabis growers and once every state fair holds cannabis growing competitions like Oregon has, weed growing will start reflecting an actual farming model, which is the end goal. Self sufficiency and whatnot.

Yea anyone that waits till 2018 to start trying to get a permit is fucking stupid

You have a decent plan

Well that's a first lol. Any ideas on a way to quickly make 1000 or more within let's say a month that isn't getting multiple part time jobs? I was considering setting up multiple porn sites for the ad revenue, trying my hand at dropshipping or any money making scheme that is guaruntee to pull profit, even if it's small amounts at a time. We currently are preparing for an indoor grow through the winter and into spring so I have three to four months to raise enough money to start an actual grow or that amount of time to become a hash distributor. Past that, my odds of continuing my plans dwindle. (Atleast for California)

Price will be $30/oz for outdoor due to the 21,000,000 acres that large corporations will be doing recreational grows on on the west coast in 2.5-3.5 years.

This isn't widely known but it's true. You'll have to scale up fast before the price drops down. You won't be able to compete otherwise unless you grow 48 plants full time with a wonderful harvest for barely six figures. You're not gonna get rich after this event happens in growing alone. You won't have the money to scale up then.

I love you..

The cultivation tax (luckily) has been reserved specifically for commercial growers. While of course I will need to register my medical plants with the state registry but my script allows me to not pay state tax when buying weed and protects my first six plants. This is onlyour california law as well, prefered grow location is Oregon were you can buy permits for canopy space. Off 40000 Sq feet, if I have a perfect grow and drive the most amount of yield I can, the profit is in the millions. This isn't considering the small time illegal selling thay ill of course be doing, the break down into edibles, oils, tropicals and drinkables or the hemp and normal food I plan on producing while focusing on my plants. I completely understand that there is a pre-established market but there is a pre-established market for food in general and there will always be people looking for home grown organic everything instead of shit that is flooded with synthetic nutrients and isnt properly flushed, like alot of weed that I've come across is. The will always be a market for dank weed until every person is growing their own top quality weed.

And even then, if corporationso take over, there is a difference between mass produced weed and weed that is grown on a smaller scale organically. I don't care if it's walmart that tries taking over the weed industry, they won't have enough money or man power to push high times quality weed. People rarely do that now and it has been damn near an open market for 30 years.

That's what I'm saying. Now you can make $100,000 a year off of 48 plants instead of $200,000+ if that event happens in several years.

dun mix blackmarket and whitemarket, retards

You can make much more than 100,000 dollars off of 48 plants m8. Idk if you've ever gone through a grow but outdoor plants, when being grown by the proper person, can yield over 10 pounds of bud alone from one plant. 100,000 is near the high end for growing indoor with limited space and only 6 plants. My plan is for an outdoor/green house/hoop house grow and reserving indoor for personal use and off the record growing.

But I feel you, the threat of larger pre-established companies ruining the market is high but im not only doing this for money, its to assure I have a place to grow food, raise animals and become self sufficient. If in the future I need to rely on selling excess food or some other type of scheme instead of growing weed, ill still want to be able to grow dank weed that people desire. Hell I could even use Veeky Forums as my inspiration to get into growing since /b/ converted me from being anti-weed.

find partners asap. Don't listen to these guys, they want to slow you down.

You'll need a full understanding about the surrounding laws and fees before you start, if you can't start your own company, I very highly suggest finding someone else who has already gotten into the biz but isn't too big.

How would you suggest finding partners in this field though? I've tried volunteering at dispensaries and atleast tried to be active on MassRoots but the majority of people I found can't tell/ dont care about the difference between flushed and unflushed weed or they were completely not interested in assuring that the plants recieve what they need to drive the best quality, they were more concerned with quantity and not building expectations. I want people to have high expectations of my weed, I want to avoid the mistakes that I can see so many growers making with refusing to cure or pulling the plant late/early.

>tfw weed will be legal in canada soon
>tfw you need millions to become a growing company to afford the requirements

Will there be no recreational growing allowed when it's legalized there? I've always thought of weed the same way I would think as food you can grow at home and sell at a farmers market.

Live with your parents for 6 months and save all your money and you'll have $4000. Get a slightly better paying job like sales, call center, or factory, save it in 3 months. Slang on the side for extra $

And even if that takes too long don't worry once the weed rush is over there'll be some other rush that is lucrative. Just have the money saved and ready to invest at the start of it
