I think the thin mortar is a bit grungy, but it works well as a waiting room sort of setting.

Used partitions to block the bedroom area, but most of the penthouse counts as one room for moodlet purposes.

She's not for drinking; too pure. That's what the passerby folk are for. Time to make an onion laurel for her.

there's an extra large window here, but it's tinted from the other side

Bedroom is pretty plain, it's the only part of the home with carpeting because nobody likes stepping on cold floors in the morning.

I changed the desk since the earlier picture because the big postmodern desk wasn't working for me.

I left the kitchen mostly untouched because I loved what they did with the islands.

Just swapped out the appliances, added some clutter, and used a warmer color scheme. It contrasts with the cool flooring undertone.

Changed the former bathroom into a storage room, and stuck all the little figurines in here. It also doubles as a receiving room for supervillian shenanigans.

Added a hottub to the detached greenhouse room.
It also doubles as the painting room. Humidity is bad for the art, but whatever.

Flipped the roof, tweaked the color.
Swapped all the windows out for tinted versions.
Changed the neoclassical pillars to modernist ones.

So does anybody know if there's any way to make your own colors for ghosts in Sims 3, or if anyone has made mods for it?
I made Marina, but the ghost colors aren't very fitting.

Hey guys. Built my first house ever from scratch about 2 weeks ago. Now it's actually furnished, for the most part.

Please rate and give advice on how to make and furnish better houses.

It looks great and the layout is really nice, especially the dual doors out to the patio from the bedroom and kitchen. Lots of empty space to clutter up and make it comfier. I also wonder if you might be able to fit another bedroom somewhere. Even tiny houses still typically have two. Only having one makes it feel kinda lonely to live in. Keep in mind, these are suggestions, not complaints.

Shitty camera work but it's the best I can do.

Oh yeah, it's supposed to be lonely. It's in the middle of a nature-heavy area, and is supposed to be a getaway for an author/painter sim. Even has the lot trait to keep visitors away. Unfortunately the lot was pretty tiny or else I'd have maybe considered putting something outdoors too.

I would have made the bedroom smaller if possible, actually, but it would mess up the patio. Not sure how to reduce the space. Doesn't seem like enough space to split it into more rooms, and doing so could potentially mess up the outside window arrangement. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions?
