She can buy Luna and Aether, a skill that gives +spd boost when under 50% hp (up to 7 at level 3) and then an attack boost to adjacents. +2, 3 or 4.
The falchion also does double dragon damage, and restores 10 hp every 3 turns. Shes pretty OP.

The units have to be the same star level I think. I fused the 1 and 2* Sophia with her 4* version and no + came out of it.

The merge bonus only happens when the two you merge are the same rarity anyway so to get the +1 on 5* Olivia you'd have to level and promote both of them to 5* first, have fun with that

Any unit can become 5* and be just as strong as a base 5*, the only reason to pull for base 5* is to save loads of time and feathers, or because the character you want doesn't come lower than 5* like Lyn, but starting at 4* or even 3* doesn't necessarily mean the unit is worthless
