Sure, but they largely haven't had a design change since then. The PLD you see now is a 2.0 tank handling 3.0 content, whereas WAR had to be changed for 2.1 because it couldn't even handle Mountain Buster reliably, nevermind Rotoswipe or Death Sentence. They were lazy with PLD in HW because they wanted to push DRK so much. PLD was good at Ravana EX, then Gordias Savage threw it under the bus

But that's stupid. Stuns need to be off-GCD because the shit you need to stun will never take more than 2.5 seconds to cast. Every single other class with a stun got this right, why not PLD?

I found warrior boring as hell because it felt like I was just a bad dps
I like paladin because it feels designed as a tank and that's what I wanted to play
plus, I like stun being on the gcd because it means I need to pay attention to my actions lest I waste a gcd

Your developers lack any capacity for making thoughtful decisions. The only class that has changed drastically since 2.0 has been warrior.

Because back when ARR was new, PLD was actually fucking stupid for that because its stun being on the GCD meant people didn't need to learn to dodge Ifrit HM's Eruption. PLD stunbotted the fight and everything was even more brainless until the change to stun

There were fights in the past the required stun-locks.
