The direct aegis counter is to not go full ham on someone you haven't aegis'd yet. Learn to poke hard, then walk back and re-engage.

Not really, in a close fight, 2 seconds is a long ass time to get saved, which constantly happens and i lose the kill because they can just walk into their team or deep under tower.

Aegis either needs a counter or removed.

No, I'm not hitting the cap without my 1, but I can't seem to make the most of her regular autos. If I try crit, they're just not powerful enough, and I'm at a loss for what to get alongside Qin's Sais if I'm going for more of a pen build. I regularly play her mid, so I typically skip Ichival and opt to either go straight into Executioner or Qin's Sais.

Typically I run Ninja Tabi, Devo, Executioner, Wind Demon, Deathbringer and Brawlers if I get that far.

For pen builds I use Ninja, Asi, Qin's Sais, Titan's Bane, Brawlers and I think Crusher, but I'm genuinely at a loss for that last item.

Is it still considered diminishing returns to get Executioners and Titan's Bane in the same build?

Yes. Do not run them together.

You do not build stacks on Izanami, Devo's or Trans.
Trans delays your start, and because she only has two damaging abilities and is not mana hungry nor reliant on abilities to clear waves, its not good on her.
Devo's is not good on her because her life steal is already weakened. You only have its full benefits for a set amount of time.
Warrior Tabi is more useful than Ninja. Izanami likes Raw power.
A crit build is this:
Warrior Tabi, Ich, Bloodforge, Qin's, Malice, WD, sell Ich for Titan's or DB. (You can get Titan's after Qin's then start working on crit)
Now you're probably saying that Qin's and crits are bad on hunters. However, Izanami is not a traditional hunter. She does not build more attack speed than Qin's late game as its not needed, so you are not sacrificing attack speed for power, which would normally force you to go straight into power / pen and an O-bow finish like other hunters. Your ability to proc the passive of Qin's on multiple people is significant. Think of yourself as someone with high area damage without your one on, instead of a hunter, but realize you have the benefits of both. Malice over DB initially because one swing forward can crit, and the swing back can not crit. Because one can crit and the other can not, Malice is more reliable damage, but DB is okay as a third crit item. I'll explain picking Bloodforge later.
Your no crit build is Warrior Tabi, Ich, Bloodforge, Qin's, Titan's, Brawler's / Crusher, sell Ich for O-bow / Frostbound. O-bow provides more team DPS. Frostbound allows two slows on multiple people or multiple quick slows with her one.

Bloodforge is literally the item made for Izanami. She loves raw power, but doesn't benefit from Trans, while Asi provides butt stats for her. Bloodforge not only provides great power, but a set amount of life steal. She just needs it, and doesn't need an augmented life steal item like Devo's because of 33% scaling only.
Bloodforge allows her to play risky and get rewarded because of her passive. Its truly where you start being a "carry". One you get that kill, you have a shield, and that shield does not count as actual health, so you have FREE percent penetration. If you're going the full pen build and manage to be relatively low but have the shield, which is typical because as the hunter its guaranteed to happen, you'll just cuck guardians out of existence and percent pen is still fucking free and amazing in the crit build too. Asi is not useful on her and makes her significantly weaker. While Bloodforge is costly, its perfect for her.
Malice again also allows you to spread its passive across multiple people at once, like Qin's, making it better than DB along with previously stated reasons.
Learn to understand her autos are just as powerful and necessary as is her one. You need to learn when and where the situations in boxing and team fights call for AoE autos or not.
When in duo lane one on one boxing without your one, fight at max distance. Your autos will hit the forward and back swing instantly. If you die in a trade while a sickle goes forward, it will still come back even after death and deal damage, which I have had occur multiple times, in which I die, the sickle comes back, and the enemy carry also dies thinking it was over. To avoid this, fight at max range. Also note you experience the basic attack movement penalty for the duration of the forward and return of the sickle, which many people don't realize and perform badly with her as a result of.
