It's a long story but basically the guy came at me begging to remodel his bathroom for a great price... The remodel is starting tomorrow and finishing on Wed.. He told me he would be happt at $200/sq... We were able to do it for him @ $100/sq because he didnt need a full demolition...
Anyway.. I put a crew together and set it up while all along this guy was stringing me along.. About an hour ago he messaged my crew leader and told him he went with someone else. Probably some mexicans who did it for pesos..

The problem with court is that it is usually not worth our time.. These ppl know that... But either way - yes, you should always have a written agreement.

When times get tight you gotta work with the filth cause it's filthy customers or no customers.
But as for contracts, it would not matter. In blood whatever. If they try shit, they try shit. If it's a couple hundred you just shake your head and move on. If it's a couple thousand you either take them to small claims or lien their property.

Anything over $2k I always get a deposit. At least 500 down. Enough to cover if they back out. Also on the contract specify the deposit is non-refundable. If they ask about it just relay the story you just posted about people backing out.
