Looks like I was too late. All XCOM Agents are MIA.

So, another LW2 restart. I have no fucking clue where to fit building facilities into this mire. Should I start out immediately buying a Scientist? Build a Gorilla Tactics School? There's too fucking much to be concerned with.

xth for touhou vs AYYlmaos

pistols are useful

Dor please come back, I need more titanfall ports.

xth for sometimes not everyone makes it home

Anyone else having lots of crashing issues?

This

>Leader is mayday
that squad won't survive

Don't be jinxing my A-Team user. She's called mayday because she pulls peoples' asses out of the fire.

Post your Venoms.

(I made the Venom voice pack, kinda miss making voice packs but I can't be fucked to have xcom's huge SDK taking up space)

xcom2,

why

WE NEED EMERGENCY EVAC

I can't jinx your A-team user, as you have already jinxed them by calling them your A-team.
You're welcome :^)

NOW, DAMMIT

Nah, everyone has a defacto A-Team, I don't actually have a set one. It's just whoever is highest ranked/best stats. It's been pretty fluid since stuff like AWC perks can change things up. I got pretty lucky and a lot of my guys have low profile.

What rank soldiers do you put as advisers?

Do they rank up?

What about civs?

I already fell for the laser weapon meme, so should I go for Combat Armor or Mag Weapons first?

>I already fell for the laser weapon meme
There's nothing meme about laser weapons

I just alternate specialists between being adviser and part of a squad.
Every haven has 2 guys assigned, who get the exactly same levelups
Whenever the squad one gets a higher rank I swap them, until they're max rank, which means just someone stays comfy

There is 100% nothing meme about laser weapons.
It takes far too long to skip to Mag weapons and you will be stuck with guns if you want to skip laser weapons, and regardless it's better to have laser weapons for retards any of your soldiers who can't aim.

Can you only counter one Dark Event out of the 3 the game shows you when you get the mission choices? It only takes like an hour to get between them but the ones I didn't choose still disappear.

Is there anything better than sting flashbangs?
Hint:No there is not

yes.

i don't mind having to pick but god damn how they dress it up does not feel convincing

Playing on veteran iron man

How do i get good?

What do I lose besides resistance personnel by not doing Haven Assaults

My game just crashes on them

When two pods of ayy's converge within Faceoff range of your crit ranger, with an officer popping Get Some. I have never seen so many critical messages in my life.

Before engaging the ayylmaos, play out the combat in your head, think several steps ahead

Try to always have a plan B in case things go tits up

Don't dash into the fog of war

Is this my punishment for having too many mods and trying to have fun?

In LW1 I shouldn't launch satellites on a new continent until I have 3-4 Interceptors stationed there and ready to defend them, right?

>trying to have fun?
WTF

Play with NCE or no? Is Commander's Choice too OP?

GTS or AWC start? Discuss!

Also everyone playing with Additional Icons and loot indicator enabled is a filthy cheat.

>asking for discussion
>while shitposting
nigger wat r u doing

can't evac without getting the crash, truly the Ayys have won

>200% infiltration
>extremely light
>12 enemies + one turret all sitting on top of the objective

im pretty much done with this garbage

Personally I always go for GTS first. The difference between squaddies and rookies is huge early game, plus you want to get Officers in your squad ASAP. Focus Fire and Oscar Mike is situationally useful early on, but you want your squads to do lots of missions together, since it leads to huge bonuses to infiltration and other things. Plus, some of the later officer abilities like Jammer are potential life-savers, Jammer and Air Controller are a huge help on retaliation strikes.

Ok thanks

>swarming terror mission
>this fucking map
fffffffffffffffffffffff

lw2 feels like work to play

it isnt fun

Does tweaking .ini setting not help?

rookie difficulty still not fun? its like cinematic mode

>disable the viper's tongue fuckery
>lower mobility of lancers
>make codex teleport end turn
finally I can have fun

What does it take to see AVATAR progress again? I did the blacksite, but I still don't see it.

It's June, Avatar Project is 3 squares away from being done, and I haven't even made a skulljack yet. Am I doomed?

No. When the Doom ticker fills up, you get about a month countdown timer to knock off at least one point of progress. Keep on trucking.

>unknown cause

FUCKING INFILTRATORS STEALING ALL MY GOD DAMN MONEY REEEEEEEE

So apparently it's possible for max level SPARK's to reach 8-10 armor. Also I didn't notice it before, but SPARK's higher tier weapons do 3 more damage than the previous tier, adds 1 extra ammo and 5% Aim.

This is how you stealth DARK VIP operations

>when your technical breaks concealment by erasing a 5 man pod with his rocket

Long War ain't bad.

>technical mind

Allahu ackbar my man.

They are far and away my favourite LW class.

PANIC

they fill the same role

I've never finished XCom 1. Should i get the DLC and then pass to the second or just go for the second?

>I've never finished XCom 1. Should i get the DLC and then pass to the second or just go for the second?
Do you have EW? The dlc isn't really that important imo, but X1 is definitely worth it.

Conceal + Find multiple pods + Chain lightning

Here goes nothing

I think I won the lottery for the map I got. The objective is pretty close, and at a lower elevation, so I should quite literally have the upperhand.

Pff, try activating run and gun for +50% crit, then pop get some. Every hit will be a crit. You can even shoot twice with the shotgun afterwards, and get a fan fire off with a use of command.

pls respond

Nope, only the base game sadly.

When it is on sale, pick up EW + DLC for like 10 bucks

Is there a way to turn LongWar 2 into less covert / guerilla type of gameplay and more combat focused?

I really dislike timers and having to avoid enemies versus just killing everything.

thought it was like $10 on humble bundle

Disable timers, overinfiltrate every mission you run
blast IT AIN'T ME, surf

Just play vanilla.

True Concealment at the minimum

Vanilla with mods is your best bet.
LW2 changes way to much if you're looking for straight up ayy purging.

disable timers
infiltrate at 100%
bring technicals

Got a couple questions about the LW2 network tower mission

>Can the enemy still get reinforcements?
>Does the mission end after you hack the array or is it one of those complete objective then clear the map missions?

>SUFFER map on gatecrasher L/I
HAHA TIME TO OPERATE

don't forgetto cheat in x1000 xp gain and researched plasma weapons from start while you're at it

Are support grenadiers useful?

They will drop infinite reinforcements on your ass. Push forward or be overwhelmed. Hacking the tower stuns all ayys for 2 turns, and stops the reinforcements. You then have to clear the map.

Extremely

true concealmeant

pistols are useful

>When you're trying to perfectly place your aoe attack
>Find the right spot
>It flips out and keeps rapidly jumping between two different squares,
>mfw

>between squares
>not using non-snapping grenades

>When there's a perfect clump of enemies
>Your technical fires a rocket
>Misses by the maximum 7 tiles

>Fire a rocket
>Screenshake for the rest of the mission
>This causes you to miss a grenade

>misses by the maximum 7 turns.
>Breaks the wall of a VIP cell down instantly killing them.
>Mission failed commander

the only way

OKAY, yeah, has anyone else had the extreme fucking misfortune of running into Advent Commandos yet? They're probably the most bullshit fucking enemy I've seen thus far, they have shadowstep, most likely hunters instinct, venom rounds, really high aim, good mobility, Lone Wolf, possibly Low Profile too from what I've seen and really high dodge coupled with Evasive. They do fucking obscene amounts of damage even to heavily armored soldiers (in addition to poisoning them for additional damage). They're easily the most bullshit enemy I've encountered so far, just what the fuck were they thinking?

>just what the fuck were they thinking?
That you need to git guder.

Know what? You're right, time to hit up those fucking config files.

>No updated music.
>Hasty EVAC Edition

There are times when you simply must leg it.

Am I supposed to take the first supply raid? It's swarming impregnable and I sent in ten lads and lasses. Is it true that catching ADVENT at the borders replaces the monthly retaliation?

Also this, I need tips on this, I've got 5 kiddos infiltrating it right now, it happened very early because I haven't skipped or failed a visible mission yet, I have no gun or armor upgrades, but ADVENT strength is still 1.

Anyone here half decent at understanding error logs? I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at here. I can post if so

>swarming impregnable
haha fuck no turn 360 and moonwalk straight away from that bastard

>but ADVENT strength is still 1.
I am only guessing, but that may be the best time to do it. I had to fight it with lasers and predator armor on ADVENT strength 6 and it was hell.

Too late, we're already in, my shinobi is creeping around and checking out pods. We caught them moving through a forest, this will be their Kalkriese.

That's what I'm banking on, infiltrating it to 200% should put it down to light or very light strength.

Does boosting infiltration add a flat 75% to overall infiltration, or is it a percentage of what you've managed to get naturally?

Nifty reference. I learned something today.

Nigga please let me teach you about unparalleled efficiency

Shinobi. With. Hunter's. Axe.

75% of what you accumulate. It's retroactive, so if you pop it straight away it'll increase 75% faster.

AFAIK every 25% over 100 is 3 enemies less than baseline activity with a minimum of Ex Light

Spotted 3 pods so far, biggest new threats seem to be the rocketeer and a muton.

Does ADVENT get reinforcements during supply raid? This is supposed to be 35-40 aliens already, do I have to worry about random airdrops too? I'm thinking of just camping it out in a forest corner and pulling pods with sharpshooter/shinobi combo.

Field Medic or Air drop?

Bonus med packs seem handy but so does giving my grenadiers an extra 2 grenades

So I want to do this liberation mission that just popped up and expires in 2d3hrs, the minimum squad I want to send in is 4d1hr. Is it going to be possible with a boost?

Reminder that the WH40k squad icon mod is made by an antifa
