Luckily for you, thats what tera has. Its also the only thing it has at all, and the funnest dungeons are immediately removed the next patch, never to be seen again, or come back severely mutilated and a shadow of its former self. Theres also dick sucking and elins.

Eh. We have one raid and that's gonna rip next content patch. There will be a new 'large party' dungeon but it's just an old dungeon coming back.

So this game's biggest selling point is its combat. However, dungeons and content to use them in is limited. Also, I hope you have good ping to Chicago because a fair amount of classes and skills are ping reliant. If this game had a stronger core of dungeons and PvE content, it would be a lot more popular than it is.

I wasnt kidding when i said it was literally all it has. Everything else is completely irrelevant. The best gear is around 3-4 months of grinding if you're starting from scratch and is around 50% better than the cheap gear you can get a week into the game. You only really need the weapon and glove if you're not shit. It takes a lot longer than 4 months to actually make use of the gear, since skill level and knowledge makes a literal 10x-20x difference in dps. Also you literally get treated like a nigger until you manage to squeak out your +15 weapon.

i mean pvp in mmos has been a fucking joke for years now, if that's what you're talking about, so i don't see how that's a relevant thing to bring up. if you're crying about getting out dps'd by fotm you're a literal idiot because it just means you're getting the encounter done quicker, you might as well cry about healers being a thing because they make the encounter easier, but since dodging is a thing, they're not necessary if you play well enough.
i do agree that the streamlining has made the game braindead and heartless cause there's zero point to hanging out around dungeon portals like there used to be. even then there wasn't much reason i guess but still.

FotM works by having people want the latest, newest thing, but it's also a big fuck-you to the players that put time and effort into playing the game. Nah, that's a vaild reason to be upset, I want to play my favorite class, I shouldn't be gimped for doing so, not to mention you'll have a harder time getting into high-end raids and parties. even if you are gimped now compared to fotm, it's probably not gonna be that way for much longer since they're going through and revamping vanilla classes. call me a farkin tard if i'm wrong but isn't archer one of the best dps now? this being after they got a rework. fotm isn't forever, and after all the revamps are done, there probably won't even objectively be one.

Lurker here. Played Tera for 3 years, then quit a year ago and havent gone back since

Every class has its "it" phase. Around the time I quit Gunner was one of the top tiers because it was new. I think with the release of Brawler though it was knocked down a peg or two. Had no idea it was bottom tier now, but it's that way because they all go through that. Archer used to be one of the worst. Slayer was awful too. Sorcerer was beyond trash, no one even played it.

I dont know the rankings of whichever class is better or worse now, but it'll always change. Ninja is on top the exact way Gunner was when it first came out by the sounds of it. One day Ninja will be garbage too. Probably 8 months or so after the debut of the newest class.

That's not balanced. That just strengthens the argument that this game encourages you to play the fotm class.

true balance is a lie user. not even "the best mmo ever" can achieve it. but in their case, when the fotm isn't retardedly broken, it's only marginally better. meanwhile everything else has been adjusted to a point where it's not going to be so heavily considered "not viable" that people will reject you just because you're not fotm. although, this is the shitty tera community we're talking about, where people in slaughter blatantly ask for carries from full geared +15s, but that's a community issue and not a game issue.
people are going to see one shitty person on x class in a run and assume that class sucks dick, and then spread their experience like wildfire to everyone on their server, then the well is poisoned.

You're right, it isnt balanced and it absolutely does mean that fotm playing is encouraged, hence why I quit a year ago and still have not returned. Well I actually quit over the gear treadmill changing out too fast in addition to them deleting fucking everything every single patch, but watching classes rise and fall and friends have trouble finding parties and eventually quitting over it didnt help either.

Crafting in game is dead. If you want to level up crafting, what you need to do is do the refining for each crafting job, Only 1 or 2 endgame recipe are mildly useful. Also, if you want to get etching done, it's unlocked at lvl 60 or so. I don't think even leathers drop anymore.

God dammit.
