Playable characters - Team Sonic, Team Rose, Team Dark, Team Chaotix, New team
Characters each have a defining trait. Amy plays like she does in adventure 1 but faster. Espio can throw shuriken and turn invisible, etc.
Main mechanics are the ability to mix and match team members, however, you can only ever have 2 team members at once, with the last acting as support if one dies, it will not use a traditional lives system. For example, if you're using Sonic and Tails, and Sonic dies, Knuckles replaces him or vice-versa.
There should be a hub where you can interact with all the heroes and pick levels from.

I was about to say we didn't have one with a tragic turn, but Gemerl exists, so you got me there

But the pre-reboot was getting pretty bloated, and while Endangered Species was shit, I'd argue that getting rid of most of the echidnas was a good move. And, as someone who loves Antoine as a character, him dying does do him more favors. And Sally's character was in fucking shambles at that point. No matter how hard the book tried to make people like her, it wasn't working.

I like Sally too, but she was just a fucking mess by the end of the pre-reboot. Penders/Bollers went out of their way to butcher her character and make her horribly unlikable, and Ian, bless the man for trying, went overboard in trying to fix her

Eh, I'm not sure if killing off Antoine would've done him favors, though I do agree that Sally was in shambles before the reboot came.

Honestly, regardless of people's opinions on the execution, the reboot was sorely needed by the time it happened.

See, my thinking is that Antoine's character arc had long since come to a close. He became a brave and respected hero, married the woman of his dreams, and got the respect from his father he so desired. And he went out appropriately for his character, so I can't be too mad about it.

But yes the reboot was desperately needed. I would've liked to have it after King Naugus ended, or better yet, once the pre-reboot did end (Because there was a planned ending for it, and I think ending that with a reboot that's established to be an alternate universe would've been fine)

I'm sad that Antoine's dad getting fatally poisoned by the Anti-Antoine (Patch?) didn't lead to an angry duel between them.

I was one of those people funnily enough. I was pissed he almost died and when LHT chapter 1 hit, the idea Ian was gonna kill Antoine pissed me off immensely, but then I sat down, did some thinking, and did some reading, and it made sense for his character

No, she was going to get cyborg parts. Her entire motivation was that she felt she couldn't protect her loved ones without her cybernetics. Joining the Egg Legion would highly work against being able to protect her loved ones.

I would've loved it if he awoke from his coma and got a slight redesign, including an eyepatch, which freaks him the fuck out because it reminds him of when he was stranded on Moebius for a year. I'm sad that never got explored because that would've been a great story idea

Shard was pretty cool for me. In fact, he's one of my favorites. Robot Sonics rule.

Shard is the character Sonic should be. A bit egotistical, sarcastic, and a goof, while still having a heart of gold and tremendous courage.

He had more personality than the other Metal Sonics so that's a plus.
