Reduced Emission Regs

>claims to be a site for true auto fans
>every comment about how horrible this is
>not welcoming in the golden age of ridiculous engines and imports

jalopnik.com/the-trump-administration-will-act-to-roll-back-fuel-eco-1793002930

I would rather have cleaner air.

>emissions standards should be overhauled to reflect the growing consumer demand for larger, less fuel-efficient vehicles such as pickup trucks.
>With prices below $3 a gallon, the companies are eager to capitalize on the demand for larger vehicles. About three in five new vehicles sold in the United States are pickups and sport utilities, and analysts expect the trend to continue and expand into global markets as well.
oh great. more SUVs and pickups

this, we aren't third world like China

>jalopnik

>They think cars contribute a fractionable amount of air pollution

Don't you know it's cool to be against everything Trump is for now?
Aa long as we keep limits on factories we're fine. Maybe not California, but fuck California.

>he thinks they don't

>He thinks cars caused that
They didn't, if you don't get the sarcasm in that post.

That's God's punishment for their faggotry

Reminder California passed a law to make engines cause less pollution and it worked

In 1963 you wouldn't be able to even see the city

Reminder: Deforestation is a major player in global warming and global warming is only really a problem for polar bears and liberals

>A large proportion of Americans including the fucking president think climate change is a myth

please dont remind me, I live in this country.

You're free to leave whenever.

The longer the electric car meme is delayed, the better

Ya stupid fucks forget one thing: automakers can make high-efficiency engines regardless if the government mandates it or not.

This isn't the end as alarmist-Jalopnik puts it. It is the reopening of creativity and variety. Of course most commuter vehicles will trend towards more efficient engines because lots of people care about MPGs. But CAFE safety standards and efficiency, diametric opposites in many cases, will no longer force your "sports" car to have a turbo 4-cyl.

it's funny until you realize they are polluting the whole planet
china too

Sports cars will not be the beneficiaries of this change in regulations as they sell in relatively small numbers.
The real outcome of relaxed fleet averages will be larger heavier mass market vehicles like SUVs and CUVs.

>larger heavier SUVs
Government regulation created the SUV.

Now me n my five underparented kids can shit up the world as we idle our cadillac escalade with no catacon in the walmart parking lot playin candy crush on our jewphones
Dog bless america y didn't we think of it sooner

lol americans

Keep in mind cars that hold their shape the best transfer the most energy to passengers.

LA smog isn't important to anyone that lives outside of that overpopulated shithole surrounded by geography that doesn't let pollution dissipate and filter naturally.

Local laws for extreme circumstances are one thing. Forcing everyone in the entire fucking country to pretend they're in LA is something completely different.

>CUVs
>heavy

CUVs are just tall cars for people that want the seating position of an SUV without any of the other features.

Would this make it more feasible to sell new Doritos here?

As long diesel is properly regulated I don't care.

This. Let municipalities with their own problems legislate emissions laws to their liking

>mfw diesel mini's in the US soon

While automotive emissions did need to be reined in considerably I think it would be more effective to go after industrial and other sources now.

You, my good man, are a massive faggot.

>yuros make fun of us for climate change while paris looks like this

cant make this shit up

stringent nox and co2 regulations are why N/A engines are being phased out though. just compare the yearly co2 tax in england/france/italy for a 2.3 ecoboost vs 5.0 mustang. its easily x2-3 more in taxes for the n/a v8 motor at buy in and every year after.

this

h e l i c o p t e r s

>Trump's emissions policies will result in more deaths than Syrian refugee terrorists

Cant wait for in ten years picking up gas hungry trucks for nickles since gas prices are up.

Mfw

fuck Trump

worst president

hes just a cuck to the companies

...

I hope this is true maybe then we'll a more unrestricted Corvette powerplant
I'm talking a true successor to the ls7

>luddites still thinking reducing emissions regulations will somehow stop the inevitable takeover of american roads by the electric vehicle
i bet you guys still think carburetors are better than fuel injection

oh well enjoy your cancer and china-tier air quality

This is just sad really

Man made climate change is a myth created by the Chinese to make American manufacturing less competitive.
And even if it was real what right does the government have to tell people how to conduct their manufacturing, this isn't North Korea.

keep in mind that cars that deform crush their passengers

failure of the a-pillar like that basically guarantees the safety cell has been structurally compromised

>golden age of ridiculous engines and imports
we're just going to keep on getting shitty SUVs and crossovers
companies would (continue to) never bring their cool cars to the US because they'd never sell

No, the climate changes. This is an indisputable fact
Whether or not man has an impact more significant than mother nature herself... that's another story

But keep buying into global warming scam
The billion dollar a day industry needs all the support it can get :^)

>Whether or not man
its not even about man. its literally just about the US, and even then its not about gutting our environmental programs. just toning down some unreasonable regulation and cutting off white mans welfare.

That's what happens when you live in a literal asshole with no wind.

This. If you're stupid enough to breathe air after being warned it's polluted you deserve what you get.

Smart Fourtwo holds it's shape really well, a few years back people kept posting the crash test here talking about how great it was. Well, the IIHS states the force of the impact was "almost certainly fatal"

You don't want a car that folds like a pretzel but at the same time you don't want something that holds it's shape too well, especially if it's a light vehicle as you're fighting momentum.

>just toning down some unreasonable regulation and cutting off white mans welfare.
yeah nah. america is going to get looted. can't wait.

>literally copypasting Trump tweets
>Trump supporters will actually believe it
It'd be funny if it weren't so sad

The only reason you think they're cool is because they're not sold in the US.

Man made climate change is a myth but to think China started it is plain ignorance
The climate change regulations and the industry that came from it were pushed by North American businessmen...
One is who hiding in china at the moment because of a shit load of fraud charges but that doesn't support the China started it bullshit

>golden age of imports

Co2 doesn't matter. Fuck polar bears, and also equatorial regions. They didn't needed to be able to grow crops anyways.

I miss old jalopnik, before they went full retard and started posting shit about sexually abused gymnasts and Trump-induced panicking.

no EPA or regs means most states will fall back to the default California regs (which are the gold standard worldwide).

This means worse regs for most states, then i'm sure southern republican states will go with little or no regulations.

Bet car companies are gonna love that.
