Why didn't German engineers test a Me 262 armed with 2 x MK 103? If they could fit the xbox hueg MK 214 in a prototype, there shouldn't have been any problem with the MK 103 and it wouldn't have weighed much more than 4 x MK 108 when including ammo.

It certainly would have helped the pilots who complained about the short effective range and time frame in which they could attack and considering that Hitler wanted a ground attacking Me 262 anyways, the MK 103 would have been better for strafing vehicles than the MK 108 even without tungsten ammo. At ~720 rpm out of both MK 103 together, the rate of fire wouldn't be that bad compared to the single MG 151 from a Bf 109.

That's too far forward for the 180mm plate, and besides, if you hit the 180mm plate, the rounding would put it up to 200mm, and you'd lose pen from distance.
