>300bhp Alpine Renaultsport model could follow

Alpine could make an even hotter version of the A110, potentially harnessing engineering know-how from Renaultsport. The performance arm of the French manufacturer could bump the A110’s 249bhp motor up to around 300bhp.

Fantastic looking car, so much pedigree.
It'll be sold out in a week and i'll never have one.
Feels bad..

Alpine's Chief Engineer says they conisdered a manual but dropped it because they are having the confidence that DCT is the next era and most potential buyers will only opt for DCT and DCT is also fun to drive.

He also says the car isn't built to do extraordinary lap times but to put smiles on the drivers face who are driving it.

imo is a bit overpriced

>pic for people thinking how the size is
2 humans for scale

all of my want

...

Well he may be right and stuff, but it feels wrong to see a car named after a Mountain chain renowed for it's narrow and windy roads not at least packing the option to have it manual.

> Inb4 6 gorillons triggered

Porsche Front, S7 Back

The profile looks ugly. And no, I don't care that it's based on the original.

>not made for laptimes
>wants to put smiles on the driver's face

>puts the boring transmission in whose only advantage is shifting faster than a manual

>not reading between the lines
The transmission selection will because of one or a combination of 3 things. Whether a manual would cost too much. Whether a dual clutch can offer MPG savings. Whether a dual clutch and its associated MPG and emissions savings will affect its tax bracket

not bad

It's like a BRZ without a fastback and a proper amount of Horsepower.

I wish they would name things so I don't have to specify year every time I look it up
that aside longitudinal RR is a favourite of mine
>tfw a sport spider costs just as much second hand

As long as the pricetag is somehow achievable for the middle to upper class, it's gonna be ok.

The specs seem good too.

For half that price, I'd be all about it.

For $60k, you can do way better.

>50 hp is worth 20-30 grand
No.

no one is ever going to sell a car like that (a semi-exotic 2 seater sports car) for half the price. that's just not how things work, user.

Be reasonable faggot, $60k is a bargain and it'll only go up in value.

>less than 2.0L
>249bhp
>60 (SIXTY) THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS

>tfw manlet
>fitting in that is easy mode

>no manual

god fucking dammit man

FF818 with a body kit and FA20F ?
or a porsche 718 cayman

>hurr durr
the post

Sounds like a failure already

What are you, poor?

The porsche is gonna be way better.

mate, i'm currently in grad school & looking for something fun to buy when i graduate around this price range.

i fail to see how the gt350 isn't a better use of the money
>real transmission
>flat plane crank 5.2L veeate
>8250 redline
>525 hp

forget about the gt350, a cayman or an m2 would also be better than this, seeing as they also have real transmissions & engines that aren't anemic.

You're ignoring the fact that the muh stang wouldn't NEED all that power or a massive engine to make the speeds it does if it didn't weigh twice what any car should.

it makes no sense to buy a cornering only car in most of the us
and also in general many makers had overkill chassis for the engines they run

that's the kicker
on any course that has sweepers or anything resembling a strait the grand tourer is going to rape and pillage
one has to strike a balance between power and handling (.eg you only need so much handling as to deal with the power available to you)
and most people do not have the mental concentration necessary to sustain momentum
in underpowered cars any small mistake is pretty much unrecoverable
so to be competitive you have to stay on edge much more and do extremely well in the corners in order to maximise the amount of room you have on the strait

this thing weighs the same as an AW11 tho

>DCT
REEEEEEE FUCK YOU I WAS EXCITED FOR THIS

Cars are supposed to weigh 1900lbs?

looks awesome. ill have the 4c then.

>1.8l
>autotragic only
>Clio/Mégane-based interior
>that price

I'll stick to the A310 or the GTA, thanks.

THIS IS WHY WE SHOULD BAN THE SECOND HAND MARKET
IT IS PIRACY THAT STEALS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT AND SALES OF NEW PRODUCTS
WHAT YOU DO MOST OPENLY IS THEFT
REEEEEEEEE

Why would I pay 60k for a 1.8L 4-pot RENAULT when I can get a fucking Porsche for the same price.

because this is lighter, and uses an fr layout instead of a mr, so it is more fun to drive casually.
this car is unique, tons of people have porsches, this will be something new to a lot of them.

It's MR dumbshit

Are you sure it's fr?

wew sorry no need to get upset daddy.

I really like that it retains the look of the 110, one of my dreams cars honestly.
Not enthused about MR though and I'd rather be naturally aspirated.

yeah, you are smarter than all the people that figured out what they should price the car.

dumb ass

>yeah, you are smarter than all the people that figured out what they should price the car.
What is a free market?

They aren't building this car for the love of it.

what porsche do you have in mind ?
the cheep ones come with H4 turbo now

Looks pretty ugly to me, but kudos to them for bringing back the idea of the A110.

If you apply that logic to a porsche, then you would be paying 66k for a 4-pot VOLKSWAGEN and for the same price I could buy an Alfa Romeo

The 718. It is a 4 pot turbo buts its a 2.5L that actually makes good sound.

FIX IT AGAIN TONI

Do people actually think this looks good, the Giuila maybe looks passable, but this, what even is this

Muh heritage

it looks awesome, yes, in and out.
It's something other than the generic shit and for a non-box design (the design I like most) it's actually well proportioned and pleasing to the eye.

Can't discuss taste, im just happy alpine is back alive, you are on sour car-enthusiast if you ain't happy about that.
on that note, hope they import them to the states.

>make a sport car
>know from the start you can't compete
>"n-no, we didn't make it for l- lap times. it's all about fun."

Im such a gigantic badge whore i'll hate anything that isn't made by the same manufacturer as my car.

Fuck everything but [insert brand here]

>Veeky Forums

>for the same price I could buy an Alfa Romeo
Applying the same logic again, A FUCKING FIAT.

That's my point, the logic is inherently flawed in this market segment.

>no manual

I'm sorry, but it might as well be FWD and front-engined, then.

The GT350 still has a slower 0-60 time, despite the alpine having a massive power deficit.

Yes. I like it. Deal with it.

Disregard this, I was looking at the old model of GT350. The new one does 0-60 .2 seconds faster.

>little MUH FEELS car
>DCT

...
