I think European luxury could learn something from American luxury. Not putting in needless features to add to wholesale cost and public shame for owning a BMW or Porsche or even an Audi.

No. It's a FWD, Taurus-based platform, with a built-up TTV6 from the SHO. It's quite literally an SHO with a nice body kit and swanky interior. Not worth it at all, or even comparable to the Guilia and CTS-V.
