heya dbt, newfag with his xr80 here, when i get into fifth gear the engine starts to hiccup when you fully press the throttle making it pretty annoying. The idler jet was clogged and my buddy used a small drill bit to unglog it, im afraid he may have made the jet hole bigger than what they are supposed to by doing that... what say you? Does this sound like it could be the jet?

the idler jet shouldn't be responsible for that, it'll be on the main jet at full throttle.

If it's spluttering it's probably blocked too..

i havent had a chance to get into any good single track since the weather has been shit so theyre all snowed in, but in the loose sandy shit it does as well as id expect and tracks nicely on shitty service roads.

Why is it necessary to raise the bike up, disconnect abs sensor, remove wheel from forks etc.
Can it just be done on the axle?

you can patch a tube without pulling the wheel off, i had the forks and shock out for a respring.
still need to pull the axle bolt and one caliper loose out to change the tube on the front though.
if i use a high fender like a dirtbike i can skip removing calipers to do tire work
