Don't bother trying to parry lights unless it's a nobushi. Sometimes zerkers if they're spammers. Focus on simply blocking that shit and parry heavy.

small addendum to this

don't ever set out to parry/deflect an attack in that "ok the next attack he does, i'll parry it". that will just cause sadness and despair. instead, just look at your opponent and be ready for the throw animation. if he attacks then make blocking your first priority. but if your brain tells you "i recognize this, i can parry this" then go for the parry. let the parry sit in your muscle memory, not your brain

you can't parry bashes and kicks
unblockables that involve using a weapon are parryable

You have to wait for them to connect first. Wait for the slapping noise if you need an audio queue to try and make it a tad easier

I'm guessing it's due to the server issues, desu. Took me awhile to get in.

Yeah, cool. The whole animation is broken, the stance indicator shows the wrong stance for a split second most of the time (on green ping) and it's faster than most attacks in the game.
