Manual master race

>Manual master race.
>Fuck your autotragic.
>Honestly, how do you even sleep at night knowing you don't shift your own gears?

cvt master race

REEEEEEEE

Automatic is for city folk

Manual is for Friday's when I go hooning at 2am with the squad

I have both.

>automatic master race
>I don't like having fun

this is the true master race

>automatic for DD
>manual for weekend/project car

Indeed. Shitbox for commute. Raececar for the weekend.

I drive manual in the city and wangan
I use auto for the country and touge

Where is your God now?

It really surprises me that Veeky Forums is always about speed and how to make your car faster...

Except when it comes to transmissions...

And yet it's always autofags making these threads and going nuclear over nothing. I made an image to this effect and lost it
Unless you do nothing but sit in stop and go traffic, this is just a retarded meme
Or maybe the people who want fun cars aren't the same ones who benchrace lap times on Veeky Forums all day

Autofags won't understand

Paddle shifters are the master race

That's literally fake shifting

>oh man I got a button and the computer did it for me
>it Rev matched for me
>I don't have to blip the throttle or close the throttle when shifting
>oh yea and if I go too far into my rpm it'll shift for me anywag

As I see it, for Veeky Forums it's important to be in direct control of your car, most people here are against the modern driving assists and electronic help being everywhere.

Hell half the time the delay is so prominent you don't get a shift for almost an entire second after you click the button

>MUH TRAFFIC
Just push the clutch in and let it out a bit to roll, push back down and brake when it's not moving
>BUT THE CLUTCH HURTS MY FOOT
So just leave a gap and leave the car in neutral, no need to keep rolling
>B-BUT I'LL STALL

>can afford to own both manual and auto
Auto is more convenient and faster shifting always.

>but it's not as reliable!
2003 Ram 2500 has 188k miles on it and it still shifts like a champ

>but it randomly shifts all the time!
no it doesn't. If you keep your foot on the pedal with an even and steady amount of force it will always choose the best gear and stay in that gear.

>but it gets worse mileage!
False. Modern automatics are desgined to be as economical as possible.
Billions of dollars has been spent on R&D to keep emissions and fuel consumption to a minimum and modern automatics reflect that.

The only real advantage manuel has is that it's funner to drive.

Also, not all shift for you. Mine will let me go well into the red and not shift until I do it

This

Outside of which you think is more fun, manual fails in EVERY aspect

> cooking masterrace
> cook every meal at home from scratch
Enjoy your mcshit plebs

> fancy stainless dishwasher
> still wash all dishes by hand

>tfw actually do these things but stopped playing manual shitbox years ago

The Only measure a slushbox is "faster" is if it was competing for the /lgbt/ crown
>inb4 but mah automated manual

>you should put wear and tear on a car that is more expensive in every capacity to maintain rather than one which is cheap to maintain

Good to know.

As long as those paddle shifters influence a box controlled by a clutch and shift forks, that's fine. Paddle shifters influencing a box controlled by hydraulic pressure and clutch packs though makes you gay.

Wrong.
An automatic will be in next gear well before a manual and it'll do it without interrupting power transfer.

>every time you shift your car is effectively put into neutral for a second
>1 second for every shift your car is not accelerating.

Is it any wonder why automatics are so widely used for drag racing?

>False. Modern automatics are desgined to be as economical as possible.
>Billions of dollars has been spent on R&D to keep emissions and fuel consumption to a minimum and modern automatics reflect that.
Then how come the manual is epa rated to get better mileage in every way?

>Then how come the manual is epa rated to get better mileage in every way?

If the last time you've been car shopping was 1998 then maybe i can forgive this ignorance.

Why are manual drivers so insecure? Almost as bad as the uncircumcised guys who are SURE it's better and that the women love it, lol.

>Almost as bad as the uncircumcised guys who are SURE it's better and that the women love it, lol.
I actually knew a few grills that wouldn't go down on a dude if he wasn't circumcised.

>Is it any wonder why automatics are so widely used for drag racing?
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you missed the context of my post, and you're not a regular bottom feeding retard.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you don't have to ride the bus.
puns aside an automatic can shift faster always.

The manual civic gets as good mpg as the cvt civic

>the sky is blue
"Oh yeah? Well I'll have you know the sky is blue! How do you feel now?"
This is literally you.

>The manual civic gets as good mpg as the cvt civic
So then it isn't, in fact, better as you have claimed?

The real rub of this is that poor driving habits lead to more fuel consumed automatic or manual.

Thanks

>So then it isn't, in fact, better as you have claimed?
It means your claim that automatics are better in mileage is false

>It means your claim that automatics are better in mileage is false
Wrong.
2014 Focus gets 1-2 mpg more with an automatic.

The only reason to get a manual is if you have a fun rwd car

The manual corolla gets better mileage than the automatic corolla

That's within standards deviation of one another and with how erroneous epa estimates are they're the same

Fair, my manual tC was supposed to only get 26 mpg but it actually sits at 30.3 mpg.
